french toast combo with over medium eggs and sausage
    Stacie R.

We were very excited to come here because the photos made it look delicious! But it was pretty disappointing. Probably the most disappointing thing was the price. It ended up costing over $75 for two adult combos and two kids meals. My husband and I both got the french toast combo plates, but he made the mistake of getting the strawberries with whipped cream, but that was almost $5! It was only a handful of strawberries, I couldn't believe it. I ordered an extra bowl of strawberries, which was just over $2 and it was much more strawberries. I just stuck mine in his whipped cream! We also got a milk and coffee, both of which were also almost $5. The kids meals were only okay, they didn't have chocolate chips for the pancakes, which kind of shocked me! The environment makes it seem like a little mom and pop diner, hole in the wall kind of place. But with those prices it was not that kind of an experience! The service was okay. The french toast was okay. It was very eggy, and I know some people like it like that. It was a little too much in my opinion. Will not be coming back if we're in the area.

The restaurant is small inside, definitely gets packed. they also have a few picnic style tables outside and parking lot is also very small. Loved that my friend and I were greeted as soon as we walked in. The menu is huge. Lots of options and prices are reasonable. The service was really nice from start to finish. I came with a friend for breakfast and tried the biscuits and gravy and a side of pancakes. My friend & I absolutely did not like the biscuits and gravy. Put it this way, I want to call the cops on whoever's recipe that is. It was terrible, we didn't eat it. As the server offered a box, I kindly said "No Thank you" and told her they weren't good. She took them away and was nice to take them off the tab. The pancakes were basic but good. I'd like to try some of the other stuff on the menu in the future.

We stayed in Santa Rosa for a quick little weekend trip and the hotel owner mentioned Sam's for a great breakfast place. Got here close to noon. Therefore it was time for a mimosa or a Bloody Mary. We got both! We chose the cranberry mimosa over the usual orange juice. Really refreshing! I had the Denver omelette with country potatoes and my boyfriend had the gravy and sausage with bacon on the side. Delicious all the way around! The biggest surprise was the salsa. Probably some of the best salsa I've ever had at a restaurant. Molly, our server was super busy and was so quick to get our food and drinks out to us. She's totally fun and kind. There's seating outside! Yay! That was another lovely surprise. The process are a little steep when you order drinks but was worth it!

I've been to Sam's for as long as I can remember. It's always been an affordable family breakfast spot that has really good food. I normally get their huevos rancheros or their waffle however this time I got the French toast and it did not disappoint. The servers here are always friendly and accommodating. They always make sure to check on you and ask if anything else is needed regardless of how busy they are which they literally always are. The spots kind of like going to eat to your grandparents bunch of stores miscellaneous stuff everywhere but it's what gives the home vibe to this cafe. I personally really like it. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Found this little cozy cafe for breakfast. Got an old school, diner feel, lots of posters, nicks n knacks, momentos on the walls and just give you days gone by vibes. Huge breakfast menu from combos to omelette to any sides you could possible want. For lunch, they also serve burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups. The service was beyond friendly! Greeted immediately when we walked in, seated quickly and got drinks out. Ordered the griddle combo with buttermilk pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. I also got the Popeyes choice omelette which comes with potatoes and toast. Fresh squeeze OJ. Still got a bit of leftover for lunch. Large portions. Love Sams and wouldn't change a thing about this spot. Keep it up!

Food is consistent, good ole comfort food. Their menu has been the same so it's nice to be able to still order your favorite. I got the California Benedict (poached eggs avocado and tomato with hollandaise) and extra crispy spuds - so delicious. Service is friendly and accommodating. Coffee will get your whole week going lol very strong and very good.

With all of the options around it is sometimes hard to pick a place to go on a Saturday morning. Jeffrey's is a charming, family friendly establishment that is attached to a small inn off Highway 12. Other inside is pretty small, but they do have some outdoor tables. The interior has some lovely art on the walls as well as positive phrases making you feel like you're home. The service is also great here, and I feel like I've seen the same folks working here for many years. My wife and I ordered two different Hashes to share. The Brussel Sprouts and Bacon Hash is fantastic, which has this blue cheese aioli that gives the dish so much flavor. The Brussel sprouts seem like they're steamed and then tossed in the hash with sautéed diced onions, bell peppers and bacon. The aioli is on the side, but just adding a little bit to each bite gives it so much extra. We also ordered the special of the day which was a Smoked Chicken and Butternut Squash Hash. It has some of the same elements of sautéed onions and bell peppers, but this was served with a cilantro aioli. This dish, while not as amazing at the other Hash, was still really good. My daughter ordered the Buttermilk pancakes (added blueberries to them) with sausage and eggs. She certainly enjoyed them!

Food: Needs work. Ordered the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were on point. Absolutely perfect. The champagne hollandaise was a fun twist but couldn't save the meal. The English muffin might have been hard track. It was paper thin and I had to saw through it. Ham had no flavor at all. I don't think it was ham. Maybe thin sliced and unseasoned pork but not ham. Worst part was the county potatoes. They came out slightly above room temperature and hard. They're parboiled then flash fried. Not a bad way to get crisp but I can only assume they do this ahead of the rush and then they sit in a container to be served. My wife ordered her's extra crispy and they come out much better. Coffee smelled and tasted like an ashtray. Overall, I wanted to like this place and the service itself is amazing, but the back of the house needs some work.

Everyone's food came out in a pretty timely manner and everyone cleared their plates. I tried the Americana coffee and the menu showed that the syrup was made in house. We ordered multiple dishes on the menu and the worst was by far the bone marrow which we were very excited to try, should've known what to expect when they served it with ranch seasoned saltines, bone marrow is already so fatty and rich it doesn't need much for it to shine, adding andouille and onion jam was doing way too much. The saving grace of the night was the edamame appetizer (which was still a tad over cooked), sticky rice, which was not sticky by the way (jasmine rice) and the steak that was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We were surprised by the lemon / tangy flavor in the artichoke dip but really enjoyed it! We LOVED the mussels--this was a generous serving, and this was a great combination with the broth and sausage. The tagliatelle was clearly homemade and fresh, and the sauce was flavorful but light; the only thing I would change is the amount of peas / pea flavor. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy! Lastly, the bread pudding was literally baked fresh to the point where we almost couldn't order it. The staff told us it would be a bit of a wait, but when it took a little longer than expected, they continued to check in on us and whether we still wanted to wait. It was definitely worth it! My hope was that the place had returned to the portions and quality of when they first opened, which were proportionate to the cost. Unfortunately, it has declined even further since the octopus incident. We ordered the baby pancake and the burger. The portions were spectacularly small for the pricepoint, and everything tasted underwhelming. The baby pancake was more of an over done, miniscule crepe, and the medium rare burger we ordered was well done, dry, and tiny. There is a process of waiting outside and ordering, which is confusing, unwelcoming, and downright strange. There is a reason that no other restaurants do this. Please knock it off. The service was just ok, and no one came to check on us after our mediocre food was served.
