I am absolutely baffled. My husband and I are active duty military and had just celebrated our wedding the night before. We went to Samantha's for a brunch the next morning with our service dog. We were denied service because we didn't call 48 hours ahead to state we had a service dog (I've never heard of this bogus law) and the owner got an attitude with us so naturally I became defensive. The only thing she is legally allowed to ask us is what service our dog provides. She rudely asked us to leave and by this time I had no desire to stay. To boot, she reached out and PET my dog! We live 20 miles away and come every few weeks. Food is great. Service was slow today. Always a wait for a table but not usually longer than 20 minutes. They are good with keeping drinks filled and making sure you have everything. I love the positive woes painted on the walls. One of my favorites is espinosa stackers. I've been going to Samantha's for at least 10 years. In the past couple of years, I haven't gone as much because they changed the menu and stopped making the sandwich that I ordered. However, I recently thought I'd give it another try, as I no longer eat gluten and they advertise having gluten-free options. When I arrived for lunch today, I waited 30 minutes before a waiter took our order. When he finally did arrive, I asked him about a gluten-free item on the menu, and he had no idea if it was gluten-free or not, despite it being labeled as gluten-free on the very confusingly laid out menu. He did not instill in me much confidence as he muttered that it is always gluten-free if the menu says it is. I also ordered a side, and he asked *me* if the side was gluten free! It wasn't clearly marked in the menu but thankfully a more knowledgeable server had told me it was on a previous visit. I ordered my gf pancakes without strawberries on top because I'm allergic, and they arrived with strawberries, so I had to send them back. My dining companion finished eating his lunch while I was sill waiting for mine. I'm sure that some of the other servers are more knowledgeable about the menu but I'm not sure I'll take a chance in dining there again. read more

Service was good but the food wasn't good at all, we ended up getting some breakfast items and both felt that we would of gotten a better meal at Waffle House. For 2 of us the price came out to $35 which was way overpriced just for 2 meals and a side. Overall there are much better options in the area for better prices. read more

Went in to Samantha's for the second time today around 12:15. Got seated immediately with husband and friends but no one waited on us. There were three waitresses setting up another table together and, even after we asked if we could get waited on, they just continued setting up their table. So, they ignored us. After waiting 20 minutes we just got up and left. We won't be back. That's a management problem when you're ignored like that. Too bad...we eat out all the time. read more

Went here for the first time on 6/25/17 and I ordered the risotto Benedict. It was the most amazing dish I have had around the area. This place a was a great experience all around. I ordered an item that was "southwest" style. It came out missing ingredients listed on the menu. After I discovered it, the waitress went to the kitchen for five minutes then returned and blamed me for ordering "off menu". Well it was on the menu and I specfically ordered because of them which I made clear. No offer to make something else. No offer to remove it from my check. Heck, the bus boy could have walked to the nearby grocer in this time and spent $4 to buy a premade jar of what they were obviously missing. So, thanks for getting it out if the way on my first visit and saving me the trouble of making another. read more

Walked in to Samantha's on a Saturday morning. Nice place, very helpful staff. We were early enough so we were seated right away. Server came to take our drink order, and the whole time we were there he kept coming back to check on us, good service there. That being said, we placed our food order with another server, who was also very pleasant and helpful, then we waited over an hour for breakfast to be brought to us. The food was plentiful and very good, but if you're in a hurry or not ready to wait that long for your food . . . I'll give it 4 stars for the wait staff, quantity of food, quality of food. Food was average. Prices were high. Scrambler Maries gives you double the amount of food for the same price. Next time will go back to Scramblers, at least I leave there full, and not have to ask to have my drinks refilled. Scrambler Maries omlettes are 4 egg omlettes with a side dish and bread, and their egg combinations are 3 eggs not 2 with meat, side dish , and choice of bread or pancakes!!!! It's definitely worth going here, if you've never been, but the service is the problem if you choose to make it a regular stop. It's a local business and I want so badly to be able to support a local eatery over a chain. We moved close and would like to go there every weekend for breakfast, and we did for months and months, until one day we said... No more. This is based on a good couple dozen visits, if not more. 1. The hostess is the most un-personable person in Canton. I really began to wish I could go and have any other person in the world seat us. 2. The wait for food is almost always ridiculous. Busy or not, I'd say a 45 minute to one hour wait is nothing out of the ordinary AFTER you order your breakfast. (This is after the sometimes long wait of waiting to get a seat.) 3. Considering the long wait for your food, half the time you don't see the waitress and when you do, they aren't much concerned with beverages. There have been times when it's taken 15-20 minutes just to get a drink. One time, I was so thirsty, I got up to go ask for a water and the employees acted like I was so rude. 4. More than a handful of times, after waiting and waiting and waiting, the order would be wrong. 5. They claimed to have "sweet tea" which was always a mark against them for not having. They have freshly brewed unsweetened tea, so when I saw the new item, I was excited... until I tasted it. It's gross. It's not brewed tea. It's that Fuze stuff or something like that. I'm sorry, I'd rather drink rainwater than Fuze. Fake sweet tea is a death sentence to me for any place. 6. They have awesome breakfast options, really supreme, but when you insist on putting American cheese on sandwiches and such, it doesn't make sense. I specifically order anything BUT American and they still insist on putting it on my order. 7. I went to order out Beef tips and noodles one evening around 4:30, which is early for dinner, obviously. They were out. Out of one of the most popular meals before the dinner rush. They charged my card for it before discovering this, requiring a cancellation. This was my last visit, after I canceled the entire order. read more

This is our second time eating here. There's been a longish wait on a Sunday morning both times, but it's well worth it for the food (and to be expected). I've been there twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The menu is absolutely incredible for a restaurant this size. The eggs Benedict were some of the best I ever had and the pot pie was as homemade as it gets. The portions are huge and the content high quality. The only reason I have 4 stars is that the service was very slow for breakfast (which appears to be a common complaint so I hope they fix it) and the waitress appeared to hate her job. My husband and I have eaten here a number of times in the past, but this recent visit was the straw that broke the camels back. Service has always been mediocre at best, and the food just OK considering the prices they charge. This time I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage links and challah french toast. After an extremely long wait for our food, my eggs were cold, the sausage links were burned on one side and the french toast was disgustingly soggy. My husband's omelet, which was supposed to have cheddar cheese in it, was served with what had to be cheeze-whiz. Remember the old saying, most people never complain, they just never go back? I had the Five and dine. A homemade biscuit with fried chicken, cheese, sausage gravy, bacon and a fried egg. These are the most creative breakfast dishes I've ever seen around Canton, OH. Three Sisters in Canal Fulton doesn't serve breakfast after noon on Saturdays so we thought we would hit up Samantha's. Hadn't been to Samantha's for awhile but wanted great food and great service especially since we had an out of town guest. We weren't disappointed. Excellent!
