Simply put, you must have breakfast at Samantha's. Period. Loads of entrees, a gluten-free menu and outstanding, friendly and efficient service. There is nothing I don't like about this place. Went here with the wife and two young kids for breakfast. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. The food took a while for breakfast food but everything came out fresh and looked good. My pumpkin waffles were great. The wife's vegetable stacker was really good too and the veggies seemed fresh and good quality. The boys had an egg and pancake that they enjoyed and it was probably the largest kid portion I've ever seen. The coffee was blah but I like it strong so I usually don't like coffee at restaurants. It was kind of expensive for breakfast (I think our bill for 4 people was $36 after the tip) but it was worth it and we'll definitely be back. read more

Whenever we want breakfast food in Canton Samantha's is at the top of our list. It's always busy but they get you seated quickly. Menu has a great selection and food is always excellent. We have a 1 year old and they are always accommodating to our son as well. Never had a bad experience. If you want to skip the line and have no kids see if there's seats at the bar available! Thought we would give this place a try because of the coupon they were offering through Yelp. Yelp also showed that they were open for another nearly 2 hours. We walked through the door and were told that they were not taking any more customers because they had been slow for a couple of hours and were therefore closing for the night. I took my mom here after church. We waited over an hour for our breakfast which I understood for a Sunday it was busy and the kitchen was probably backed up. The food was not worth the long wait and won't be back. There is only one bathroom here for the entire restaurant, which is a problem if everyone is sitting for an hour drinking coffee. We were sat where we could see into the kitchen and saw multiple plates go in the microwave before they were even walked out to be served. It makes me think they had plates sitting in the window. Plus there were more than a few servers walking around chewing gum. read more

Ok so my grandma loves this place with all her heart and to be honest it is good food, but it is kinda like a better tasting apple bees because they have like a burger and a salad like every.other.place! "Mixed Quality At Portage Rd. Location" Samantha's is a great place to go for breakfast. Plan to wait to be seated on the weekends. They have a very good selection of pancake and egg based breakfasts. (they're strong suit) Their dinner's on the other hand are low grade fare, meant to meet price points, especially meats. Food is generally really good, but service is typically slow. Coffee is served in tiny mugs. My waitress took my order today but I didn't see her again until well after I got my breakfast about 20 minutes later. It was cold, but my daughter's eggs and potatoes were hot (toast clearly toasted well in advance, maybe when my breakfast was assembled?) so we just gobbled it down and left. They serve lunch and dinner also (admittedly, we were there in the crush of a Saturday morning) but we rarely go because of the same issues. It's a shame, too, because when the food is coming out hot, it's amazing. read more

I have eaten at Samantha's for years. I had a fact finder from Columbus tell me he is someone who really loves wedding soup and travels all over the state and always gets it. He said Samantha's wedding soup is one of the two best in the state of Ohio. The meals are very reasonably priced and you can get healthy or not so healthy if you are so inclined. Everything I have ever had tasted fresh. My service has always been great. read more

The owner of this restaurant denied my wife and I service this morning due to us having our PTSD therapy dog with us. We are both active duty in the Marine Corps. Today I went to your restaurant with my mother and 2 1/2 year old child for brunch. There was a 30 minute wait which was understandable because a lot of people showed up when we did. However, the service was beyond unsatisfactory. We begin with lack of communication. When they came up to ask for drinks I asked for my daughter to have chocolate milk and coffee for us. The wait was over five minutes so I asked where the chocolate milk was. They then brought it explaining they had to make more of the milk. The one thing I take away from it is communication. Do not just sit and wait for them to make it, go back to your customer and explain there will be a wait instead of waiting for us to ask where it was. Second, in the beginning they gave us silverware for two guests where there was three. I asked them when we first sat down for another set. Unfortunately we had to wait until they brought the food and remind them. I ended giving the silverware to may daughter while I had to wait for mine while my food was sitting in front of me. Lastly is the wait for the food. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and having to wait for breakfast items for more than 20 minutes was wearing her out. It should not take that long to make breakfast. On top of that when the waitress brought them the food was cold. The butter was cold on the pancake not even melting. I had to go to the manager to ask for more food to be hot. On top of this we were not offered free drinks or a discount for the amount of dissatisfaction. I believe instead of the waitress continually refilling our coffees it might behoove them to check on our food instead of leaving it under a heat lamp waiting for it to be cold. The only time there was an apology was when they forgot the silverware. When I brought it to the managers attention she did not apologize. However she did ask what she could do to make me satisfied. I did give the waitress a 15% tip which was generous for the wait time we had on our food and that it ended up cold. I do not believe our family will end up coming back to this Samantha's after the experience I have had. There needs to be better training of your staff especially for the young folks that are runners. If you have any questions or concerns I will be happy to answer them for you. read more
