    Protein açaí bowl
    Jay O.

Fastest Açaí bowl ever made. She made it under 30 seconds. Looked around JWA for a healthy option and stumbled across this place. Got the protein bowl which is great.

Great option for breakfast/lunch and the portion size is plentiful. The prep bar shows all your fresh choices for creating the tasty bowl.

I was feeling a light dinner before my trip home and Sambazon was the perfect stop. My body was craving protein so the acai protein bowl was the best pick. It had different types of nuts, banana, granola, cacao nibs, and acai. They needed to get rid of their strawberries so I got some strawberry added on top which was nice! They're not the cheapest bowls, but they are generous servings. I love when my acai bases are thick like sorbet, and this one did that which was nice. I can be really picky with my acai bases and while I've had others I like more, this one was still pretty good. They made it pretty quickly so it was a good fast stop before a flight. I was able to eat this at my gate. It's located pretty central right before you go down a specific gate. The person who helped me was really sweet. I'd recommend stopping here for a healthier bite before a fight.

It's nice to have an option for a "healthy" snack at the airport. I got the green smoothie and it was tasty. I will say that the almond butter flavor was overpowering so if you don't like almond butter this is not for you. The staff was friendly.

Just picked up a few canned drinks from the fridge here and drank them on our flight to San Francisco. THE DRINKS. - Horchata | Gross. I took one sip and it tasted like... I can't even describe it. - Vanilla | It tastes like black coffee with sugar in it. Didn't detect any vanilla. THE RETURN? Maybe to try out their food? But the canned drinks... hard pass.

A healthy choice at a airport! I had a flight that left at 1:30 PM so stopped by to grab a quick lunch. I got the regular dragon fruit bowl with light granola. ($15) Order came out super quick since it wasn't crowded. The dragon fruit was fresh and wasn't overly sweet. The mango was unripe but overall a solid healthy sweet treat. Would love to try the acai bowls here next time.

Fresh açaí bowls at the airport?! Don't mind if I do. I went with the dragon fruit açaí base to switch things up, comes with four fruits, and they let me swap a few out to customize it just how I like. Pro tip: make sure to specify your size, or you might end up with the jumbo tub (no complaints here though). Service was nice, they accommodated what I needed, and clean friendly environment. Super fresh, super tasty. Honestly, not mad at this airport find!

My vegetarian friend, who's always on the hunt for protein-rich smoothies, told me I had to check out Sambazon in Terminal B at SNA. Located right past security, Sambazon was exactly what I needed after a week of heavy SoCal meals--a fresh, healthy reset. My boyfriend and I split the Protein Açaí Bowl and the Peanut Butter Protein Açaí Smoothie. The açaí itself tasted fresh and high quality--really delicious. I do wish the protein bowl came with some berries for more variety, but I still enjoyed it. The smoothie was just okay; the peanut butter flavor felt a little lost against the strong açaí base. I also grabbed the Brazilian cheese bread, which had a great chewy texture. Not the best I've ever had, but honestly, pretty solid for an airport stand. Service was quick, and the prep area looked clean and well-organized, which I appreciate when traveling. I'll definitely be coming back next time I fly out of SNA--though if they ever open one at Long Beach (my preferred SoCal airport), I'd be thrilled.

Likes: + Yummy, pretty healthy food, albeit the high sugar content. + Efficient service. There was no wait. I'd say reasonably priced. Non-likes: - I saw the guy with the same gloves he used to sweep the floor with a broom prepare my food. Not sanitary. Maaay be good for my immune system, but I don't quite prefer frequent risks to that extent if I can help it. - They don't have much of a seating area with tables for you to eat at. Gonna have to find good seating elsewhere to enjoy your snack.

All things considered, really not a bad smoothie. I'm a thick smoothie guy and these are definitely more on the runny side. The ingredients were fresh though so I'm a content customer there. It's just a quick spot no real seating as it's at the airport. The gentleman was a one man band back there serving these up but he made quick work of it. If you need something super light, this is a good option at SNA. CHEERS!

Great place and nice staff. Açaí bowl is really good! PS: it looked better before I squished the lid on it to get on the plane

We stopped by Sambazon for a quick bite before our flight. The food was fresh and decently priced for the airport. Scoop-able açaí is not my favorite as I feel like I am eating sorbet, however the smoothie was nice. I would stop by again next time I am in the airport.

Quick and healthy airport option that feels reasonably priced. Would recommend and would stop in again in the future. Staff were quick and friendly, the quick service restaurant seemed clean and the food seemed fresh.

I'm so sorry to even say that. :( Starting with the positives, the guy taking my order was nice. He was patient and kind. That is a plus. Everything else goes downhill from there. Our açaí bowls were on the watery side. It wasn't on the cold, thick, icy side. That is so weird; I have never seen this before. The toppings of banana slices, strawberries, and blueberries were also very, very scarce. I didn't know I was supposed to tell the guy that I wanted almond butter "on top," so it was blended (eewww) into my açaí base! It gave it a slimy texture which was so gross. If you're paying over $10 for an açaí bowl, I feel like it should be good. I gave this place a 2 because I'm not coming back. To end on a positive note, my husband liked his mango smoothie. If you want a recommendation for an amazing açaí place, go to Berry Brand in Tustin. I've tried the Nekter location near UCI, and that one tasted good. That was maybe a year ago, though.

I thought to myself that it's fine, I'll opt for the plant-based protein smoothie options, so I asked for the açaí smoothie. However, I'm aware that plant-based protein supplements have lesser grams of protein per scoop than conventional whey supplements, so I asked how many grams of protein come per scoop. I was told that each scoop contains 0.5g of protein. I was like, maybe they don't understand my question, so I asked once again how many grams of protein does the "protein smoothie" come with and they continue with 0.5 grams. I'm confused because that wouldn't make it a PROTEIN smoothie. How can 1 scoop contain just half a gram of protein!? I kindly thanked them and walked out. I had to go to another smoothie place.

I was intrigued when I saw they specialize in pennywort drinks, which you don't come across often. I went with the P2 for a more traditional take, while my friend ordered the #4, their most popular drink. Clean flavors, not overly sweet, and very ingredient-forward. The textures in the #4 especially made it stand out. Service was efficient and welcoming. Pricing leans higher, but the quality and uniqueness justify it. Definitely a spot I'd return to.
