I stopped by this location to grab an iced coffee after eating at slurpin ramen next door. I was greeted by a nice gentleman who took my order. I ordered an iced americano with a splash of cream and he delivered. The coffee was ok. Overall I wouldn't return unless it was the only option. The vibe is low, not warm and welcoming. The location is tiny, but offers both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a tiny pastry shelf with muffins and loaf slices if you're hungry.

Açai Bowl
Katya Z.

I came here after a workout because I was craving an acai bowl and a lot of places don't open until 9:00AM. I got the aćai bowl which they only have 1 option for it but you can add a couple things to it if in additional like peanut butter for an extra charge. They don't blend the açai fresh - I believe the cups are pre-done in a freezer in the back and then they add the fruits + granola. It didn't have as much flavor as other bowls I've had, felt like it could use some simple adds like coconut shavings and agave or honey. It was good for what it was but definitely could be improved!

Vanilla chai latte

The vanilla chai latte was DELICIOUS. Seating is a little limited, but on a Saturday morning, the place was not that crowded, and there's a small outdoor patio area nice for getting work done. Staff is speedy. Haven't tried any of their food items yet but would love to come back to try some as well as their other drinks.

Spanish Latte with oat milk

You had me at Spanish Latte with Oat Milk. Which I think I gulped down in less than a minute because I couldn't set it down it was that delicious (plus I was way overdue for caffeine). I love the little outdoor patio and enjoyed the vibe while my coffee was being made. Around 11ish during the day not so busy and places to sit. Heads up, it's at the Camp so parking can be tricky. But friends it is totally worth it. Counting down until my next visit.

Chocolate Monkeys

Stopped in more an early afternoon snack/boost of energy and I was feeling something sweet and got the chocolate monkey smoothie with coffee. I felt like it was a very large portion for the price, especially in that general area where that is the typical price for a regular latte. Tasted like exactly what I wanted, this is a great place to stop if you are in the mood for a good smoothie!

Cute little coffee shop! We got the vanilla latte and we liked it. They have yummy looking pastries too!

Avocado Toast

Trendy, unique little coffee and tea shop! The drinks were delicious and super interesting. First time ever seeing banana coffee on a menu let alone trying it! My husband ordered the banana coffee hot and I got an iced campfire latte. Their chai tea was also recommended to us. The avocado toast we ordered was just ok, and it took a long time. Their drinks were definitely their superior menu item. Our drinks came out pretty quickly, but it seemed like a fair number of people were waiting 5-10+ minutes for theirs. Their bathroom was also a downside. It did not have the same cute, updated aesthetic as the rest of the cafe. I had to rummage through their storage cabinet to find TP, and they were also out of paper towels (couldn't find those). Overall, I would have their drinks again but only if I wasn't in a hurry! I'd probably skip the food next time.

Drink: the Iced Hanoi Coffee is a Vietnamese Style Coffee with Hazel Cream Top and it was a great blend of a traditional Vietnamese coffee with a a nice hazelnut flavored cream to soften the strong coffee flavor Service: everything is made to order Design: interiors is modern with a organic landscape vibe due to the growing vines that have coverd the facade and the outdoor dining patio Overall: if you want really good unique espresso-type drinks in the Costa Mesa area at the Camp, then check out this spot

That oat milk lavender tea is the goat!!!! Gosh the Lavender Oatmilk tea is so refreshing! It is way better than it has any right to be! Like how is this drink so good?!?! It's delicious. 10/10 I have ordered two different smoothies from Milk & Honey now. The smoothies are really good. The mango was probably my favorite! I ordered the Wild Berry the other day and that was good too. I did not like the raspberry seeds in the drink though. That is my only complaint about that smoothie. Otherwise very tasty and healthy.

Banana Coffee
Danielle B.

The banana coffee was excellent! They make a homemade banana purée that tastes so fresh and perfectly sweet. Since this shop is located in the camp, parking can definitely be a disaster.

The outdoor patio with the drinks I got.

The place is super cute! I love the decor! I love the outdoor patio covered with purple flowers that makes you feel like you're inside a botanical garden. And the Spanish latte with oat milk was amazing! For all the coffee lovers. My husband did get the campfire latte which has tofu on top and looks very sweet. For the sweet, sweet coffee lovers. The customer service was exceptional!

Hanoi coffee
Emily J.

The Hanoi coffee tastes a lot like Lee's Vietnamese coffee to me. The interior is cute, but there isn't much seating. The drink is a bit on the sweet side, but it was still decent. The service was pretty quick since it was kind of empty. The price is just a bit much for me at $6.20.

Lavender Latte Cooler & Lavender Latte
Shauna S.

Calling all lovers of lavender & honey. This place has mastered the perfect balance of the honey lavender flavor. It's just so rich and sweet. The outside patio is engulfed in twigs/greenery. It feels so peaceful in such a busy plaza. Obviously you need to fight to get a parking spot since it's located at the Camp, but worth the hassle.

Ask the Community - Milk & Honey

What should I do if I can't find parking? What are other options?

If there's no parking in front of Milk & Honey just park in "The Camp" parking lot around the corner! I've always been able to find parking there except one time when I had to park at "The Lab" which you can see across the street from The Camp.

Do they still sale French macaroons?

not when I went yesterday 2/16/21

Do they do order through the phone and pick up in store?

Yes I've done this before with their açaí bowls :)

Are you closed during the pandemic?

It was open in late Nov, 2020 when I visited... before OC returned to purple tier and the SoCal regional stay at home order that went into effect on Monday, Dec 7.

Is the outdoor patio dog friendly?

The outdoor area is enclosed from within the tea shop. I would not say it is dog friendly

Is this the same Milk & Honey that started in Tennessee?

No. This is family owned in California.

Are there any vegan items my sister is vegan?

Sure! In terms of drinks, there are quite a few coffee options as well as lemonades and smoothies (which I'm sure you can substitute a plant based milk in). Food wise, there's the açaí bowl (just ask for no honey), fruit bowl, oatmeal, peanut butter… Read more

Does this place have board games? I'm trying to find a date night. Is it good for a date?

No board game. But I think this Cafe is good for a date!

At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! It's right next to colorful barrel fountains, and on a sunny day it honestly felt like the perfect coffee outing. The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. Definitely worth the visit!

The parking however, was VERY filled during this time. The line was huge for a 11:00am on a Friday morning. We were bummed that the QR code was not working on the very cute wooden signage outside the coffee shop while we were in line, which was a bummer. The Honey Oat Latte with oat milk was delicious. I am notorious for chugging my iced coffee but this was absolutely delicious. A sweet, subtle honey sweetness taste and the creamy oat milk was divine. My manager's Spanish Latte was so much better & I will be getting that next time! We bought our other coworker the Strawberry Matcha, which we did not try & we were worried after the fact because it did not look like it had strawberries in it, but she confirmed it was very tasty and tasted the strawberry! The outside seating areas in this outdoor area was very cute. Lots of fun art, the directory was creative, the CD tunnel was the coolest part! We also walked over to the breakfast burrito place as well. This seems like a nice area to come and relax and just people watch and enjoy a delicious iced latte from Nook.

I think I've only had like a small instance where the internet got a little slow but other than that this is a pleasant spot to visit. You can also rent a study/conference room from the church. I sent a message before because I needed a spot to do my final oral exam virtually. There is a small fee but unfortunately no one got back to me. There is a QR code that takes you to a site where you fill out a form to request the space. Now, these requests are handled specifically by the church not the coffee spot. Although it is in the same area. The staff is super friendly. The restrooms are always clean. Handicap friendly. Not necessarily kid friendly because a lot of people come here to study and work, and its also all concrete and hazards for the small ones, but I have seen people do like babies on strollers type of gathering.

Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! I checked out the rest of the space and used their restroom to wash my hands - it's really a neat space here. Lots of seating. Lots of space. There's an adjacent room that's connected to the cafe called "Flow Space" - which is utilized for small popups and arts & crafts. Neat spot for smaller community members to showcase their wares. Some of the other reviews mentioned no a/c - which had me worried considering we were having a bit of a heatwave lately - but to my pleasant surprise, A/C was on and cold! It was a great escape from the heat. Free wifi - fast enough for a zoom call if you need to hop into one - my speedtest reported download speeds of 17.5MB/s Restroom is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking - of course, I stopped by a little after 2pm, so already avoiding the tail end of the lunch rush. Only downside is they close kinda early - 4pm - but open up at 7am. Great spot! Will probably be my go-to considering there's ample workspace, plenty of parking, less crowded than other coffee spots in the immediate area. I'm curious to try their matcha the next time I'm here, as well as possibly their breakfast burritos, since photos for that looks delicious.
