A very friendly lady that cooks and serves the food outside at the front of the store. The chicken on the stick has this sweet teriyaki flavor. I asked to have Sriracha on it. Very good. The Mung Bean is spicy so if you are not a fan of spicy food, don't get it. I'll try to go back and try their lo mein and dumpling next time.

chicken on a stick and mung bean pancake

The chicken on a stick was phenomenal!! I also ordered the mung bean pancake which was delicious, crispy and flavorful with a bit of spice. The woman working the stand was very friendly, and the store owner inside was kind as well. Recommend to those looking for a quick bite in the strip district!

Chicken on a Stick! Yum! It's $3 and consists of 2 perfectly grilled large boneless thighs on a skewer. They are juicy and delicious. The marinade they use caramelizes on the chicken during grilling resulting in a super flavorful char. A great snack when eating your way through the Strip District-- this is "street meat" done right! The Sam Bok food stand also makes mung bean pancakes, lo mein, fried rice, and egg rolls, which I saw many people ordering but didn't get to try myself. Be sure to check out the Asian market Sam Bok is connected to & pick up a jar of their homemade kimchee!

The best Kim chi I've ever had! And the owners/ staff are extremely helpful and nice. I make a point to stop every time I'm in Pittsburgh.

This place has amazing quality for an amazing price. All of the fish was soooo fresh and delicious. I was really happy with the variety that came with the sushi platter. A sleeper item is definitely the California roll because I feel like they are so flavorless at some places, but Sushi Kim's was so flavorful! This has become a new favorite sushi place of mine. (Sushi is my favorite food, so I have tried a LOT of the places in Pittsburgh).

It came with 3 side dishes of bean sprouts, kimchi, and broccoli. I quite liked each of the side dishes. The bean sprouts were soooo good! The soondoobu was very typical, slightly sweet, slightly spicy. I would like if there was a bit more soup and less things so I could put my rice in more. The galbi gui was very yummy and had a nice bbq flavor. I would say the portions are SMALL for the prices. I was very suprised when it came and the galbi was the side of my hand. The bowl for the tofu soup was also very small. For $26 and $18 respectively I thought it should be at least a little bigger. I honestly thought it was a cheaper lunch portion. The food here was a pleasant surprise and the other customer seem to know the owner very well!

They do seem to really care about the craft of providing Korean inspired fusion concepts. The Korean style poutine was a good example. Mostly classic poutine, but with crumbled tofu in place of cheese curds. Well played. Especially well played given the scare quotes in the menu to call attention to the fact that "this isn't traditional poutine." I checked the place out with a friend and we ordered a few different dishes. I got the bibimbap, and it was fine. The pickles were in the direction of a bread and butter pickle, which was a nice fusion-y touch. The carrots and pickled cabbage were fine but not notable. The fried egg was perfectly constructed. Good outcome overall, but also a pretty hefty dish. My friend ordered the barbecue combination, which is essentially a three different meats served with rice. She liked it. It's not something I would order, but it looked well presented. All told, I think this was a good destination. They have a very small list of beers available, but the list spans a reasonable number of styles. The staff were very friendly, but also spread pretty thin. There seemed to be some interesting cocktail options, but that's less my thing. I think I expected more, but that doesn't mean I was necessarily disappointed.

We got killer tofu, 3 Cheese Tteokbokki, kimchi, pickled cucumbers and big chicken. I would personally skip the pickled cucumbers they weren't my fave. We really want chicken katsu but we couldn't order cause they were out of it. So we got the bbq chicken instead which was really good. My sister has raved about this tofu for months and it was good so I see why.

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
