Beware! I was quoted a price and then after dropping my vehicle off and getting fixed was given a price of almost double. There was no additional defect found. The issue was that I was given a price from service and then told I had to request a quote from parts department on my water pump. Guess what I am not a mechanic and didnt know valves had to be replaced when they replace the water pump. I was initially quoted $1100 for labor then 152.29 for the water pump. So after tax I was expecting $1355. After repeating what I was initially quoted they were so kind as to drop it to 1474.14. I will not ever go back. Maxwell Ford in South Austin is where I will go in the future. I was told by my brother who worked in the car industry that they would be more reliable. We bought a truck from them last year through USAA. At first they seem to be on top of everything. They didn't have the truck I wanted on the lot but found one they could go pick up for me. I was thinking this place is awesome but then it went downhill fast. The salesman Bobby stopped calling and didn't let us know that truck fell through. He managed to find another truck similar to the other one but it took 1 month for them to get it from the other dealership. I asked if they could add a bed cover and they said yes. So after a lot of promises and a lot of back and forth about the truck and the bed cover I finally got my truck 2 months after starting the process. When they delivered my truck to me it had a huge chunk taken out of the windshield. We called them and they said they would replace it. I mean who tries to sell you a brand new truck with a windshield like that? So a couple months later I take my truck back to the dealership 2 hours away to have them finally install my bed cover and replace my windshield. What was suppose to take 3 hours took 9 and when I got there to pick up my truck my no one was there but the body shop guy. They replaced the windshield with a 3rd party windshield that voided my warranty. I called the next day to complain and no one would return my calls. Finally I got in touch with Bobby and he gave a lot of excuses and promised me 3 free oil changes and a yeti cooler. I have received one oil change. So fast forward to now. The seal has come out around my windshield and I can't get ford to fix it because the windshield isn't theirs. So I call bastrop again and guess what? No one is returning my calls. Imagine that!!! Oh and did I forget to mention they lost my bronze star plate? Yeah I drive around without plates for 6 months because they lost them and I couldn't get anyone to file for new ones. So today I filed a formal complaint about them with ford. I will continue to spread the word about this dealership till they fix this problem and stick to their promises. I wish I could give them less than one star. That is how horrible my experience there was. I had issues a few years ago with a salesman who tried to convince me to get my father to co-sign my new car loan and then default on it to get a "free" car with my Dad making the payments.... and then three weeks ago had another horrible experience with their service department. My Ford Focus started having transmission problems on the other side of Bastrop. A mechanic stopped to help me when he saw me pulled over at the side of the road. He was able to reset my car's computer with the handheld he kept in his car, so I was able to drive to the Bastrop Ford dealership and get there just before closing on Saturday afternoon. Eugene in the service department promised me that they would look at my car first thing Monday morning and call me right away. They did not have a loaner car for me and I had trouble getting to work over the weekend. Monday, and Tuesday mornings I called them and asked about my car. Each time I got the answer "Haven't had a chance to look at it, we're swamped. We'll look at it tomorrow." Wednesday morning when I called, there was no answer and they never called me back. Finally got my father to call around 4pm. He left a message, and heard back from them TWO MINUTES before closing. Obviously they still hadn't bothered to look at it and ran out to do a diagnostic when a MAN called them to ask about it. The tech on the phone told my father they couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission... but had a list of other things I needed to have done. ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. There are well documented problems with the transmissions on Ford Focus (which I discovered when the exact same problem happened again last night), and they didn't even consider that. I don't know if they didn't care, or just didn't want to bother with it. I picked my car up the next morning and got it to a decent private mechanic to check on the other repairs they recommended, to see if they were right. Only one of the recommended services was necessary. Now I'm again without my car, for a problem that could have been handled three weeks ago, and might have to rent a car to get to work. Again. I'm beyond frustrated with this dealership and would happily drive an extra 50 miles to avoid using them if I had to. read more

We had started on our vacation, Thursday at 6:00am in our 2011 F-150 ecoboost pulling a travel trailer. One hour into the trip the check engine light came on and we had no power. We pulled into Sames a little after 7 the service desk was open and they filled out a service ticket we unhooked the trailer and waited until 8:00 when the mechanics arrived. At 8:00am a mechanic pulled out truck into the shop. By 8:15am they diagnosed the problem visited with us and began repairs. I mentioned that there was another issue a clunking when we took off from a stop sometimes. He knew exactly what the issue was fixed and the engine issue. We were on the road by 10:30am. The truck has never run better. The people of Bastrop are lucky to have a great service department at their Ford Dealership. read more

I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from Saames Bastrop Ford & was told that it came with a 100,000 mile or 2 year power train warranty whichever came first. I live in College Station & made the drive to Bastrop to purchase the vehicle because it was exactly what I was looking for. Both the salesman Brian Richter) & finance person (Tom Dawson) informed me that since the vehicle was a certified pre-owned vehicle that I would be getting the above mentioned warranty. Knowing that I didn't live in the Bastrop area, neither one bothered to tell me that the warranty was only good at their dealership which is about a 1 1/2 hour drive for me, so I presumed that the warranty would be honored at any authorized Ford dealership. A couple months after owning the vehicle, I had an anti-freeze leak & took it to College Station Ford for service, but the service rep couldn't find anything on her website indicating that I had a warranty. The service rep contacted the finance person (Tom Dawson) at Saames Bastrop Ford who informed her that it was only good at Saames Bastrop dealership. She suggested that I contact him about this matter. When I spoke with him, I told him that neither he nor the salesman told me that the warranty was only good at their dealership. He then told me, "Well it was stated in your contract that you signed". I told him that he did not explain that to me at the time & that he should have made me aware of that important fact instead of just shoving papers at me to sign. It was obvious that he was not going to help me out, so I told him that it was bullshit at which time he said that he wasn't going to take the abuse & the conversation was over & then he hung up on me. When I was signing the contract, the only thing that he was concerned about was trying to get me to buy an extended warranty for my vehicle for an additional $2600. I believe that both he & the salesman should have been up front about the certified pre-owned vehicle warranty. The finance person is a shyster & only getting a kick back from selling customers the extended warranty policies. I will never purchase another vehicle from Saames Bastop Ford again! Just got off the phone with Sames Ford in Bastrop, they had my car in a few months ago to fix my Air Bag Light plus a couple of other minor repairs, final cost over a $1000, had to take my car back couple of months ago, same problem with light coming on, they had my car for 4 days, they fixed the problem, or so they told me, at no cost. Guess what the light came back on a few days ago, so I take my car back to the garage, spoke to someone this morning and it turns out that its a totally different problem with the Light, or so they say and because I have had so many problems with it they will fix it at a special price of just short of $300. I had been looking for a vehicle for my son and his young family and after spending much time getting nowhere in Austin I decided to look a little further out. We found something on their webpage that met our needs but I thought it was too good to be true. Dealers are still practicing "bait and switch" tactics as I experienced in Austin. We take a gamble and are at the dealership on Sunday morning waiting for them to open the gate. What do you know, the car we wanted to see was actually there! We were greeted by Luis who setup a test drive, and answered my questions. After my test drive and inspection we decide to purchase the car. It took a couple of hours to finalize the deal and during that time my family got a nice lunch and my granddaughter got a huge balloon courtesy of Sames. Not a huge deal but very nice. She was sold right then and there. Being a used car, they only had one key. This is pretty common with used cars, and car keys these days are not cheap. To seal the deal, the dealership ordered and programmed the new key at no charge. Rather than have us drive back out to Bastrop, Luis delivered the car to my driveway, washed, gassed up, and ready for the kids. That is uncommon customer service! Purchased new Ford F250 in 2014. Have issue with front windshield in cold windy weather when vehicle is at highway speed. Have been trying to get fixed for quite a while (2 years). Recently tried to have Sames in Bastrop fix this when vehicle was in shop for another reason. I have been told the dealership cannot throw parts at the issue and they must hear the noise. It's alright for me to throw money via time and gas while getting the run around on the issue? They have heard and documented the noise on past visits. Not sure what hearing it again will do. Beware and be cautious using this dealership for repairs. Fine for smaller repairs but when advanced troubleshooting is needed I've had zero luck. read more

DO NOT go to Sames Ford to have and service or repair work done. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. My truck broke down because of a DEF tank issue and the roadside warranty service towed it to them on a Thursday. They told me it would be Monday before they could look at it. Monday rolls by, no word from them. By the afternoon, I call them and they said they didn't have time, it would be Tuesday. Got this excuse every day for the entire week. By Friday, they still had not even looked at it! The next Monday, they still had not done a thing, so I borrow a friend's truck and trailer and we go pick it up to take it somewhere else. I go inside and they hand me my keys, no apology- nothing. Told me where it was at, so we go over to it in the parking lot and the driver's side window is halfway rolled down (?). Get inside and it won't start because the batteries are completely drained (? the batteries were totally fine when I dropped it off). So we have to jump it with battery cables to be able to load it on the trailer. I called to speak with a manager and both the general manager and assistant GM are out. So I ask to speak with the Service Manager, well he's at lunch so I left a message. I still have not heard from anyone. It's the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I hope no one has to endure what I went through. These guys should be ashamed. read more

Easiest vehicle purchase I've ever made with no problems or hassles. My salesman, Geoff, took the time to show me all of the features, electronic gadgets, etc. and didn't rush anything. Clay helped me with the contract paperwork and made it as simple as possible. Didn't get the cooler, Craig said I got too good of a deal, really? They took 400 off asking price. I should have gotten the cooler for being a loyal customer. I've bought over 35 cars and have always gotten a full tank of gas. These guys gave me 20 dollars of gas and the wrong octane, engine lite was on for weeks till I burned it off. We were taking advantage of special financing options that a business associate told us about here in San Antonio, and Liz was the one helping us accomplish what we thought could not be done. We were treated with respect and dignity by every person we encountered there. Juan in finance topped off the day by adding his own personal touch to the signing of all the paperwork. There is a lot to be said about a small town dealership. Coming from a big city where we have bought countless new cars in our lifetime, we have never been treated better that we were at Sames, which was quite surprising considering its a small Texas town. These people are doing a fantastic job out there. We will drive 95 miles when we are in the market for another vehicle, and will take our friends and family there when its time for them. The drive will be worth it because the service was top notch. You have earned lifetime customers, no matter how far away we live. My family and I were vacationing in Texas in March when our air conditioning quit working in our 2011 Expedition. I went to this dealership and was treated very nicely by the service people. Just as they were closing for the day, they said it was fixed and I paid the bill. When I got in the truck, the air did not work. They asked me to come in first thing the next day which I did. After an hour and a half, they said it was fixed and charged me again. a total of $268 to do the same job twice. We left on our trip. Two days later as we were traveling home, the air quit again. I had it fixed at home for another $388. I wrote the dealership and a week later received a call telling me they were refunding my money. After receiving no refund for a month, I wrote them again with copies of everything. It's been another month and I have received no refund. I just went in and bought a 2014 f-150 STX and my experience was amazing! I was greeted with a smile by Richard. We went into his office and sat and talked for a few minutes about what I was looking for, what I needed it for, price range, etc. Richard was very attentive and seemed like he was genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect truck. The other salesmen all seemed like they liked being there and were very friendly. I had a couple ask me if I need any water, coffee, or anything while Richard was pulling the truck around. The only reasons I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because Richard is still a very new salesman and wasn't as knowledgable as I would have liked, but wen still what he didn't know he was able to find out for me very quickly. After my test drive, we went in to run the numbers and I was amazed at how high of a value they put on my old truck. Most other places I've purchased vehicles from would severely undercut my trade value, but this place gave me a pretty fair value on mine. This is the place that I'm going to be purchasing my next vehicle from, telling my friends and family about, and if I can get my girlfriend out of her bubble VW bug, recommending to her too.
