They picked up my car for its 50K service and delivered back to my house that evening. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the individual who picked it up in the morning, but it was a young guy and he was on time and very nice. The service department people were all very customer oriented and so helpful. I can't say enough about how happy I am with their service. In the evening, the actual service advisor (Matthew I believe) that helped me, actually delivered the car back to my house. I asked if we could change out the car but he told me no because of the deal I got, there was no other car that amount on the lot. Well, here I go again...singing the praises of Leif Johnson Truck City Ford in Buda Texas. But, this time, it's about their Mobile Service Department. In years past, I have taken my 2014 Ford Edge (the subject of my previous review in August, 2014) into the dealership for its scheduled general maintenance. I have done so without having an appointment and just been willing to sit in their comfortable waiting area for the work on my vehicle to be completed. No big deal...right? [[HIGHLIGHT]]But a few years ago, I found out about their "mobile service". All you have to do it call to set up an appointment for your "general maintenance", and they come to your home[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Now, this service is for "general maintenance"...no big "need to put the car/truck up on a lift" service. Common sense has to prevail here. I started using this service and have never had an issue with any of the work performed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service techs are professional, personable and explain everything they did while servicing your vehicle...even informing you of any abnormality they may have found.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service I received today from Ruben, my mobile tech, was quality beyond my expectations. Took our truck in just for diagnosis. They said all we'd pay was a diagnostic fee. Ok we figured about $150-200. But they did an "electrical" diagnosis, then a "mechanical" diagnosis and charged us 2 fees without telling us there'd be 2 separate fees so it was over $400 just for them to hook it up and tell us what was wrong. That's why we avoid dealerships at all costs if possible. We DEF won't be back there. At least be honest up front and tell us how much the fee was, and that there was going to be 2 fees. As a teacher, I find it totally misleading and unproductive when Ford Motor says that any non-perfect review score for a salesman results in job jeopardy or wages lost. A review should be honest. HONESTLY, I have no problem giving Stephen Polasek top marks at Truck City. We were looking for a very specific type of truck and my wife used dealership emails to ask about their inventory. Stephen was the only person who emailed (within an hour) a personal letter with several inventory items that we similar to our request. We dropped in and met him and he first listened to what we were looking for and asked important question that could help him. He listened. We saw one truck. Knowing his inventory and what we wanted, it only to one try to surpass our expectations. The manager and finance guys were visible, friendly and helpful. The fact that this dealership isn't a monster in size is far outweighed by the friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They beat everybody else's trade in value for my Edge and the price of my new 2019 F350 DWD could not be bested. Jason Harper was our sales guy, and he did a great job. Mike is the service dept manager. I'm now a proud owner of a 2021 Ford Ranger XL with 4x4 off-road pkg and 18" tires! EXACTLY what I wanted! Background/details... Funny: though my last 2 vehicles were the highest level of trim-pkg, I specifically wanted an XL to remove extraneous features that I don't need and those with which I don't want future potential issues, and also I wanted no carpet floors bc of where I live/what I do (easier cleaning). MY experience: I researched (other brands of small/compact trucks) and knew what I wanted. I located this truck at Truck City Ford, Buda online. I live 2 hrs away. I stopped by our local Ford dealership and did a test-drive with a Ranger XLT to ensure this was the truck I wanted. The dealership was going to exchange trucks to negate the drive to Buda (awesome for me!). However, the XLT truck I drove had a bad transmission (obvious!). Got me worried about buying a Ranger. Note: www.nhtsa.gov is an AMAZING resource! Given that there are manufacturer communications incuded, I learned that SOME Rangers had issues in production. At the same time, 2019-2021 Ford Rangers are in top ranks (varying categories) for small/compact trucks. Methinks that the one I drove locally must've been in a "bad batch" (& funnier, the truck I test-drove was no longer parked out front the next time I went by later). Zipping back to Truck City... I was in the area for an appt and made a point to test-drive THIS truck. It was PERFECT (solid, perfect transmission and everything about it). It had 5 miles on the odometer. Learned that all dealerships receiving new inventory put their vehicles thru thorough inspection. Point taken about the service dept of our local Ford (bad transmission passed?). But Truck City Ford? Check out the reviews. They (of course) are confident about their service team. But without ever experiencing it personally, I can't comment. What I can comment on is the other dealership (our sales guy there acknowledged a customer when we went to test-drive, and replied "Sorry" to her comment that she was back for the 3rd time). My takeaway: I'll be servicing my Ford Ranger at Leif Johnson Ford Truck City, and I'll be happy to make the 2hr drive, period! So yes, I bought my truck from Truck City.
