Awesome service from Emily S and the team. Emily was attentive and friendly, just the right amount of check ins. Everything came as ordered and when we asked for extras they came promptly. Nice ambiance in the restaurant. If you like Caesars I recommend the "In a Pickle" Caesar with pickle juice. It was a bit spicy but delicious and great garnish. We also ordered wings, creole jambalaya with blackened chicken and steak bites. We were celebrating my nephews birthday and they gave a complimentary dessert. Sammy on the drier side... It has been awhile since I last been to any Sammy's and this was the first time visiting this location. This place is located across from Willbrook Mall in Langley. There are parkings available in the plaza parking lot. Inside is a bar section to the left and a dining section with booth seats and tables to the right. Here were the food I ordered after scanning through the menu; 1. Original Caesar drink. It was okay, needed to be drunk before I say it's good. 2. Cream of tomato soup. It was hot, rich and creamy. It's one of those you either like it or hate it, but I personally find it a bit too paste like almost like pasta sauce. 3. Wings and drumettes. It was on the small drier side with a southern hot sauce. 4. Panang curry mussels. The sauce was okay but the mussels meats were a bit overcooked and small. Felt like another one of those frozen prepackaged ones. 5. Mini cheeseburgers. The patties were pretty dry. 6. Coastal salmon. That's one thing about sockeye salmon, once overcooked it will be dry and powdery, needed some mastery skill to get this dish done right. 7. Cajun chicken linguini. The sauce was okay but the linguini was a bit undercooked. Overall, the atmosphere was casual but the noises projected from the bar section were quite loud. The service was okay and pretty straightforward from the staffs, tho could be a bit more attentive. As for the food, more of an old school pub style and a little on the drier side. The food is average. Service is slow. Ambiance is nice on big game days. I was confronted by a server for not giving a tip on my previous visit & expressing frustration outside the restaurant after I left. I was frustrated that hardly anyone remembers to say hello & say people's names anymore. I was frustrated with myself for making a big deal out of such a small thing, & I planned to give the tip the next time, but being confronted about it ruined it. Now, I'll never go back to this restaurant. My mom's memory is gone with Alzheimers & vascular dementia, but this is something she was very good at & taught me to do. The Black Jack Strips are a MUST-have item! I used to go to this location of Sammy J's years ago and was always very happy with the food. The service wasn't the greatest back then, so it's really nice to see they've made some drastic improvements to the service along with the major renovations they underwent. On this occasion, I opted for the fish tacos with a side of tomato soup, along with my usual blackjack strips. I don't think I've ever been to Sammy J's and NOT ordered these. They are unbelievably tender and juicy, blackened with the most amazing spices. I wish I could make these at home! Yummy. The fish tacos were quite good and the soup was also very tasty. Not the best I've ever had, but a nice lunch nonetheless. My friend had the lobster grilled cheese with a side of their crowded chowder and she was very happy with both. Our server was exceptionally pleasant and made us feel very welcome from the moment we sat down. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Langley. read more

Sometimes I wish you could give zero stars. I came here last night and it's my boyfriend. We were seated right away and there were lots of empty tables. We sat there for about five minutes with no one acknowledging us at all. Lots of waitresses were around, lots looking in our direction then waking right past us. A couple who was seated after us got drink ordered right away as we sat and watched. We sat for another ten minutes with no service so we decided to just leave. We went to Browns and had a MUCH better experience. I will never ever come back here, such a waste of time. Side note, the music was also obnoxiously loud, you have to yell to whoever you're sitting with. read more

The drinks were good , the service was quick and friendly , and the seating is nicely set up as not to feel squished. My friend and I came here on Sunday for the game, a lot of tv's are set up. Unfortunately , the speakers for the tv are SO obnoxiously loud that your ears literally begin to ring and hurt. I honestly feel bad for their servers that they have to work in an environment so loud that their ear drums will be damaged. We tried staying here for long but couldn't stand it any longer. The restaurant should be mindful of customers and its employees ear drums, it's the loudest bar I have experienced. read more

My friends all were very pleased with their food but I thought it was so-so. The music is a bit loud which makes it more of a clubby feel and our waitress with super short skirt didn't help. One of the better places to eat in Langley, seeing as Langley has very far and few places to eat. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable and the food prices are quite reasonable. This is tough because my meal was bad and the hubby's was good. I had the steak with prawns and seafood in Cajun sauce and a Caesar. The food came out very salty but the steak was cooked to perfection. I sent it back. When it came back my husbands meal was all eaten up so I had to eat alone. The second plate was swimming in grease. How they fixed the taste of salt was to add copious amounts of sugar and cheeze. It was awful. My Caesar tasted gross like it was full if preservative. the celery salt around rim of the glass was at least a centimetre thick. My steak was over done the second time around and so chewy parts were in edible. The meal was $23.99 and for that price I deserve perfection. I could not eat the food because it was so gross and got heart burn from all the grease that was in what I ate. My husbands bread was delicious his pasta was cooked to perfection and can't complain about his food at all other than is was over priced. The servers were apologetic and nice. The place was swanky. We were greeted on a very busy evening with a genuine smile and enthusiasm.Great start. We started with warm tri-coloured tortillia chips smothered in a rich gooey Asiago cheese dip with jalepenos & artichoke. The tortillia chips had that rustic corn flavour that just puts them over the top. One concern; I had to ask for extra chips as the portion was minimal, when you're paying $9 you should not have to ask for more,..the initial serving was scant at best. My entree was crispy panko breaded chicken pieces wrapped in small soft tortillias with crisp iceberg lettuce, fresh tomatoes and a tangy ranch style dressing. It was both satisfying and a healthy alternative to a burger. Prime finger food.If ya wanna clog the arteries a wee bit, ya gotta try their french fries..OMGG,..they were sooo tasty , you wouldn't wanna share them with anyone. Again, SJP's needs to offer portions that do not leave you feeling guilty about asking for more. They seem to be frugal on the sides that are the cheapest,which makes no sense to me at all. Load your patrons up with the economical ingredients and serve normal sized entree's. Maybe they are tryin' to discourage sharing, but this just comes off as cutting corners at the customers expence. I don't mind paying for good food, but in turn I expect to get what I pay for. SJP's pizza was very good, with a delicate crispy thin crust and just enough sauce to keep it very flavourful without being wet and soggy.Our pizza was piping hot,made to order and had just the right amount of toppings. Although the flat-iron steak was one of the better ones I'd had , it was not cooked as ordered and was subsequently dry. Order your flat-iron medium rare and make sure it's pink and juicy and you'll be fine. At the end of the day, SJP's was warm, friendly and inviting. Atmosphere was cool and young at heart. Attentive wait staff , with cooks that need to pay a little more attention to detail in preparation. Casual contemporary menu, fresh ingredients, decent value. As a woman who is 14 weeks pregnant, with major food cravings, I tried margherita pizzas at two other restaurants before settling on my favourite at Sammy J's. It is delicious! The staff here are so friendly and they provide excellent service. My hubby never has an empty beer glass! Yep I'm another fish taco fan. It's the only item that is consistently good. The food is generally good. The service is perfunctory. It was irritating to sit close to a mirror s the waitress spent more time looking in to it rather than engaging with us. It's kind gross when they arrive at your table and constantly pulling on their skirts. Need to lay off the cheap perfume. I did appreciate that they honoured our coupon and gave it back to us for re-using. Go for the fish tacos and the fries. read more

We had our Holiday party at Sammy's in south surrey last weekend and couldn't be more please with the service! Great energy, friendly staff, and a great selection of appetizer's and drinks. We rented out the Patio/Event room, which was decorated for the season and was kept neat and tidy. We have already looked into booking our next Holiday party at this location next year. It was my friends bday and our server Stephanie was horrible from the start. We waited for 30 minutes to order our food and we had to wave down 2 servers for her to come take our order. From then on we got lots of attitude from her. The food was great, highly recommend the yam fries. read more

Went to Sammy J's last night and had an amazing experience. This restaurant has become our families favorite place eat. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. My wife had her favorite Apple Mango Chicken sandwich and I had the New Orleans Skillet. The beer is always cold and if you are wanting to watch a game there is not a bad seat in the lounge with all their TV's. We will definitely be back. read more
