Sammy's Cafe is now open for dine in so we decided to give them a try. I had been keeping an eye on this place waiting for it to open. They opened just a couple weeks before Covid 19 closed dine in restaurants. I'm so glad they made it and are now open for normal hours. The place is very clean and our waitress, I believe her name was Coco was amazing! She was very attentive and her warm and welcoming personality just made our first experience here a great one. We were quickly seated and given paper menus. The selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner included American and Mexican entrees. The breakfast plates come with a choice of toast, biscuits and gravy, pancakes or 1/2 a belgian waffle. We decided on the eggs benedict and the ham and eggs with biscuits and gravy. We also ordered a cinnamon roll which the hubby noticed right away when we first walked in. A few minutes after ordering we continued to look through the menu and I noticed the menudo. Darn I had already ordered a regular breakfast. My hubby laughed. Our waitress must of overheard and brought me a sample of the menudo to our table. I was very impressed by her kindness and the menudo was very tasty. I know what I'm getting next time! Our food came out quickly and was very delicious. We tried the biscuits and gravy first and the biscuits were delicious, very light and fluffy with a yummy sausage gravy. Ham and eggs with country potatoes was good. I really like that the peppers and onions were not over cooked. Eggs benedict was delicious has thick slices of ham and a perfectly poached eggs. Now to the huge cinnamon roll, it was perfect with our coffee. They make cinnamon roll french toast with them as well which is also another breakfast on my list to try. They have a $6.99 weekday breakfast special and a Taco Tuesday special as well. I'm so glad Sammy's Cafe is now open and a place I will be stopping by on a regular basis. read more

Been here a few times in the last couple of covid months. Glad it is still open as it opened not too far before the shutdown. Had breakfast and couple lunches and have been satisfied with everything I have had so far. The Lady that is there when I go is nice. Order is always ready when they say when I call in for pick-up. I've been wanting to try this place for some time. I finally got to try it today! They had really good food. I really enjoyed my country potatoes and my crepe. My husband got the menudo and he liked it. We will definitely come back. They have a big menu selection. read more

Food was way better than what I expected. I was a little reluctant to try their menudo but I'm glad I did. Some of the other dishes that were ordered were chicken tacos, chilaquiles, crepes all of which were really good. The hostess and waitress were both very friendly. read more

Really great food and service! Of course I've never been when it's busy. They have great specials on Tuesdays! Really sweet staff just odd menu choices so I'll have give them another visit. The food so far has been ok. I like the size and portions they give in each plate. The one think that caught my attention when I was given my tab. Was that the drunk of horchata was $3.89 like huh??? If it was freshly done i wouldn't mind. But this is horchata that come out of the vending machine that taste more like water & sugar. read more

Our new favorite go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch! Their eggs Benedict are excellent! The ham is very tender and the hollandaise is excellent! Salads are very fresh, sandwiches are very good too! We haven't had a burger there yet, we will probably try that the next time we go. Service is friendly and prompt. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the ketchup packets due to Covid-19. I would prefer a small 2 oz. cup of ketchup rather than opening packets. we waited too long for our food. an hour's worth. My steak had no flavor and my husbands Shrimp alfredo was drenched in oil. like literally being able to pour all the oil in a bowl and fill it up. My husband and I decided to give this place a try and it was their grand opening. When we walked in and waited to be seated, one of the hosts never said a word to us as we waited. There were no "hello" or "welcome". The place was hardly busy. He began to walk away with menus but never said anything to us so we just stood at the podium waiting to be seat. The host then motioned for us from afar to come his way. We were seated and then our waiter asked for our drink orders. He never told us what his name was and it appears that the waiters/waitresses don't give out their names as the waitress didn't give her name for the couple that sat behind us. Our waiter was pretty attentive and kept asking if we needed anything. As we waited for our drinks and food, we noticed that there wasn't ANY decor and the paint color and atmosphere in the restaurant were bland, boring and definitely uninviting. We weren't sure why it took so long to open this place as it was a restaurant prior to this current opening and I believe it has the same colored walls and window treatments that are old as the previous tenants. Food was good though and yummy! It came out pretty fast after our soup and salad. We both ordered the dinner entrees of chicken fried steak and pot roast. They were both really good. I was bummed that they didn't have the baked potato available as it was one of the sides mentioned in the menu. The mashed potato was still very good though. Here is the overall rating: Food: Good food and YES, we would go back again. Host/Waiter/Waitress: Could some improvement. Ambience: It was completely boring and dull looking. Well this was my first time here everything started out ok, the greeter was great sat me down quickly and then the wait begin, and continued for at least 10 mins in the meantime others around me were being serve very quickly it was when I got up to leave is when the waitress came to me and said she hasn't taken your order yet and I said no and I have been waitin, she then said have a seat I'll take your order mind you I believe this waitress was the one to take my order in the first place. But after that she became very nice making sure I had everything I needed which was great until my food came lukewarm and I think you all can get my picture that my visit was not pleasant mind you I was the only African American in the place. I was very skeptical about trying this place since it only had a few reviews but they were all good so I took a chance. I am so glad I did! Lots of menu items to choose from so we each ordered something different so that we can sample various foods. I had the sausage patty with eggs, hashbrown and biscuits and gravy. My son is very picky with hashbrowns and he said they were the best he has ever had, They were thick and crispy, biscuits were so soft and the gravy was very flavorful. My wife had the breakfast enchiladas and they were amazing! It came with potatoes and they were very good. My son got the cinnamon roll French toast and he loved it also. I can't wait to go back and try lunch and dinner options. Although we were only able to get the food to go because of the shelter in place order, the restaurant itself looked clean and as mentioned in other reviews it didn't have inviting decor but I really don't care about what's on the walls just as long as the food is great and the place is clean. Was very unhappy the way I was treated because I have been here before don't get me wrong food is great but our server Andrea was horrible. We went in as a party of 5 on a Sunday morning had ordered coffee for my sister and I and had asked our server Andrea for more coffee and she did reply "yes I'll bring it right out" well she must have forgotten because we had to ask another server that was helping a table nearby and she went back to let our server Andrea know that when she came out she looked upset. We disregarded the situation but when we had got our meal as we were halfway through our breakfast we noticed another party she had sat across the room that she had seared with too many people and they were not fitting on their table. She then came over and told me and my party of 5 now mind you our table was 2 tables put together enough for 8 guests but my grandchildren were sitting on one side of the tables eating well she comes and tells us not asks tell us she needs the table for the other party and wanted my grandchildren to sit at a booth besides us. I told her that was not right that we had to move our party because she had mis calculated on seating of another party. She then looked at me and told me "Are you serious your gonna be that way after we went out of our way to seat you" I was shocked I told her " Really I didn't know a party of 5 was an inconvenience" She then said again rudely insulting me "Don't worry you'll get your discount" I was so upset but mostly shocked on how this girl was a server and treating customers that way. I went to the front to pay for my meal as I also asked for the manager but of course they told me he wouldn't be in till after 3pm. So apparently no one is supervising or is in charge of the workers cause no one seemed to approach me or care. I will never come back to this restaurant. It a shame how they can treat customers that way. That is no way to run a business. read more

Absolute worst service i've ever experienced, the server taking our order acted as though he didn't want to be there, only good thing about this place is that the food came rather quick, but that was for the reason being that they didn't put everything on the plate, i ordered the sammys breakfast plate it comes with 2 pancakes 2 bacon 2 sausage and 3 eggs with the choice of hash browns or country fried potatoes, what i got was just about half of what i ordered lol. Shit was definitely sad because i got my plate and there sat one sausage patty, two pieces of bacon (the skinniest pieces i've ever seen) three eggs and a good amount of hash browns and i just had to wait another 3 minutes after that for my french toast to come.. tell me why they gave one slice of bread and cut it diagonally with some powdered sugar on top... mind you it's one small piece of bread already and they had a normal size plate to hold it on. also to add to that their soda machine is garbage, my sprite tasted like sierra mist with water, worst part of all this, is that i wish i was joking but as my brother and i dove into our plates cause we were both very hungry, we finished pretty quick i would say in about 5 mins, then the server passes by again once we're done and he just stands there and looks at us and my brother asks for his waffle cause they obviously forgot they then they proceed to say oh we were waiting for you to finish your food (he had a pretty small plate tho..) and that response wasn't even from our server but the woman who had a booth right behind us who works there.. so then the guy in front of us just walks away..... that mf had to be the most awkward dude ever. then 3-4 minutes pass again and they bring the waffle and everything for the waffle in a plastic bag and gave us the check?? the whole time i'd like to think we were being pretty nice, but the service, the food, and the atmosphere was so bad, will never be coming back again, rather go wait in line at corkys or rodeo cafe than eat at this garbage wannabe ihop.
