Don't let the location in San Bernardino fool you, this spot is actually a hidden gem. The place itself feels a little old and outdated, not gonna lie, but once the food hits the table, you forget about all that. Everything is simple, well made, and priced right. Visited: November 2025. Monday ~7:00am. Setting: Cozy, spacious diner. Reminds me of the good old days. Wait Time: None. I came right at opening and seated myself at a booth. I saw a few patrons sitting outside right before the restaurant opened, though. Maybe regulars. Food/Drink: Big portions. I ate half and had the rest for lunch. The omelette came with hashbrowns and a side of biscuits, toast, or pancakes. I chose sourdough toast. Everything was good, but I added a lot of salt and pepper to my omelette and hashbrowns because that's how I like them. - Fresh Mushroom and Cheese Omelette ($14.99): PACKED with mushrooms. It was topped with a slice of swiss cheese which I found interesting. - Hashbrowns: Nice and crispy. - Side of Bacon ($4.99): Yum! I was happy that they gave 4 strips. - Apple Juice ($4.99): Came in a big glass. They gave more juice than what I'm used to from other breakfast spots. Service: Great. The waitresses checked on me a few times and were warm and friendly. Parking: Easy and plentiful. The restaurant shares a huge lot with other stores. Wow, this coffee shop is really good! It's pretty small but clean and the people here are all so nice and welcoming. I've been here twice now when I come into town and look forward to getting the yummy Greek omelette. They give you plenty of food, everything is tasty and coffee is good too, I don't know why but I secretly like diner coffee...shhhhh, tell me you like it too! To me, I love it when the waitress comes by your table and smiles and remembers you from the first time you came in. I love the interaction between the workers, they seem to love being there and all get along so well. I haven't tried anything else here yet, the Greek omelette is just too good but yes, should you find yourself close by, and hungry, well I got the place for you! Stopped in to get some take out, ordered the Triple Decker Club, one with fries, l like there fries a lot. Other club l got Onion Rings, made fresh. They were yummy and lightly breaded, nice flavor and crunch. Comes with two pickles slices. Choice of bread for sandwiches and sides. Over all a good Club Sandwich. Service, was greeted and replied, here for a pick up. Lady came to tally my order $35.87 she then asked, would you like to add a tip on my card, this is where I'm perplexed when it comes to pick up orders, don't get me wrong, but when l drive though say Inn & Out or any other fast food Est, they don't ask me about a tip. I left a cash tip, l felt obligated due to her asking me. But l don't think l should be asked. Ambiance, basic diner no frills whatsoever, counter with bar stools and the rest are booths ! Probably will not return. Came in with a party of 3, seated quicky. Has a mom and pop shop type. We looked over the menu, and sat patiently waiting for our server. Enough time for us to check the menu and make a decision, a couple came in and sat in the booth booth behind us. Our waitress appears to check on two tables who had already eaten, completely passed us and took the freshly sat table's order. I thought this was weird as most places have a system to know who's first, etc. We even sat with our menu's closed, visibly ready, waiting to order. It all made sense after hearing their conversation, they were regulars. Ok, cool, glad to know this place is popular... But being ignored and clearly passed up is really rude and off-putting. I've been living in San Bernardino for 3 years now, and I've driven past DJ's Coffee Shop more times than I can count. But after finally stopping by to eat, I instantly regretted... not stopping by sooner! This place is amazing. I had the chicken plate, it was juicy and thick, just how I like it. My son got the chicken breast breakfast plate, and let me tell you, that breast was firm, large and round, no complaints there. The customer service? Top-tier. Friendly, fast, and funny. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows. I enjoyed it so much I went back two days later. This time I had the chicken sandwich, and wow, flavorful, crispy, and thicker than a booty. Always busy in there but workers are on top of things. Food is so delicious. So much flavor. I tried the corned beef has for the first time. Was not disappointed at all. Their hash browns actually taste like potatoes. They taste fresher and less processed than most placed. My husband got the works burrito. I've had that in the past. Pretty sad with my last visit. I was pretty hungry and wanted breakfast around 1 pm. They sat us down we ordered drinks and I shared with the guy I was ready to order he said he'd call a waitress, didn't call anyone. My uncle and myself sat there guy next to us got his food and we didn't even have a waitress approach us. I made a comment and one of the waitress said we are not ignoring you we are busy. Okay fast forward my uncle is enjoying his food and he complemented his pancakes I said yes they don't use cheap syrup. The same waitress who took out orders heard and went to gossip to three other girls I knew they were talking about us because the brunette said "who said we use cheap syrup" at that point I was done. I wanted to share with the cashier but she was so aggressive when ringing me up I didn't care to explain. Sad that they gossip about their customers. Just wanted to grab a bite unnecessary attitude. This is my third time visiting this restaurant/coffee shop, and every single visit has been outstanding. I absolutely love the atmosphere. The prices are great, the food is delightful, and the portions are out of this world--so much food! I still can't believe I live less than a mile away. I want to give a very special shout-out to Gio/Geo. He was my server during my previous visit, and his customer service has been top-tier every time. Today, Sunday 11/16/25, I rushed straight here from work in Orange County because he genuinely made my last experience unforgettable. It was very busy, and even though he wasn't a server today, the moment he noticed I had been unattended for a few minutes, he immediately came to assist me. He took my order on the spot and once again saved the day! This young man is truly a gem, and I hope to see him here every time I visit. He has made my experience phenomenal not once, but twice in a row. If I could give him a raise myself, I would--but since I can't, I sincerely hope someone in management sees this: If anyone with the power to do so reads my review: please don't overthink it--give this young man what he rightfully deserves, so he can continue to shine here. Classic, AMAZING diner! The Waffle House and Black Bear diner have absolutely nothing on this place. One of the best steak n eggs EVER! Basically paid for a backyard burger. The reviews said this place was great, so my group and I were excited to try a new place. Pros: portions are slightly larger & servers are great Cons: taste & seasoning Although I asked for the tomatoes and pickles on the side, for some reason, they kept them on the burger. Regardless, service was great and they were kind to every person in the restaurant. The size of the burger is slightly larger than those in other burger shops, and the fries were decent. My greatest knock on the place is everything was bland. The burger patty had no seasoning and the fries were just straight potatoes. Yes, I could have doused the burger in sauces, but I dont see why I need to do that to enjoy what im eating. Unless youve been coming here for years and love the feeling of nostalgia, I would say skip this place and try somewhere new. read more

I will take my friends and family there for breakfast every chance I get. My 2 sons took me there for after Christmas breakfast. I was sure they were pranking me cause they know at my age I don't venture much out of my comfort zone. The shopping center is a throwback to the late 60's early 70's. I can assure you photos of this strip mall from back then look exactly like the place looks now. They assured me I would be ok. We were seated pretty quick and immediately brought a cup of hot black coffee so already things are looking up. The menu is a collection of classic American comfort food. Portions are ample. My ham steak and eggs were absolutely delicious. I devoured that stuff. My son had the country fried steak with an additional side of pancakes. Oh to be young again. My other boy, the ex Marine had the sirloin steak and eggs. Semper Fi indeed. Great crowd fast service excellent food. Don't let the location or lack of 21st Century ambiance deter you. They always start with a nice cup of coffee and the amazing service just continues until I walk out the door. If you are thinking about stopping by there for breakfast, strongly consider having either the French Toast or the Grilled Chicken & Eggs. The food is always made fresh and portion size is pretty decent. I use to love their biscuits and Gravy, but they changed the gravy, it's not the same. For some reason when we went everyone was in a bad mood. We ordered the country to fried steak And our waitress was so mad. She was complaining to her other coworker about us and all we asked was to changed the country fried steak because it wasn't cooked all the way. She was just mad the whole time. Second time here was very disappointed! We were able to get seated right away which was wonderful but we were also in a spot workers couldn't really see we were there. Host didn't tell server that we were seated. We had to ask for menus after seeing another group get seated and attended to right away. We waited another ten minutes hoping someone would take our order since we knew what we wanted after looking at the menu for about a minute. The server who seemed to assigned the section we were at, was standing there looking around while wrapping utensils in napkins. He saw people who needed menus so he gave them that but was unable to see my hand in the air. I thought someone would come if I put my hand in the air while trying to make eye contact with someone. I've been living in the Dino for 15 years and after reading all the great reviews I decided to bring visiting family here. We should've just went to Cracker Barrel. I'm all about supporting local businesses first, and the restaurant was indeed packed. This place should count their lucky stars for having their loyal regulars. So everyone needs to tell me the best menu items bc everything I tasted wasn't great. It was like mediocre cafeteria food. Sausage links over fried, waffles weren't it, the gravy on the biscuits couldn't even give moisture to the dry biscuits, and the country fried steak? No bueno.
