Coming here to say, Sammy's on the Lake is closing as we know as Sammy's and is passing the torch to another establishment. Stop by this week May 21-26th and show them some love!! As the community that lives around the marina we will miss this family restaurant and wish them well on their next adventure. Dear Friends, Family, and the Wonderful Community of Eagle Mountain Lake, With a heart full of gratitude and a touch of bittersweet emotion, I'm writing to share that Sammy's on the Lake will be closing its doors. Since opening in 2019, we've had the honor of serving more than just great food and lakeside views--we've had the privilege of building a community. What started as a dream quickly turned into a place where strangers became regulars, and regulars became friends who feel like family. Every laugh shared across a table, every celebration, every quiet moment watching the water together--it all means more to us than words can express. To our incredible customers: Thank you for showing up, through every season and every storm. You supported us during the hardest times, especially through the uncertainties of COVID-19 and the long, cold winter months that would have closed many other doors. Your loyalty, your warmth, your presence--it's what kept us going. To the musicians who sang, played, and entertained us--thank you for filling our space with music, energy, and soul. Your talent brought our patio to life, set the tone for countless memories, and made Sammy's more than a restaurant--it made it a place to gather, dance, and celebrate. We are so grateful for every note and every night you spent with us. To the staff who've been part of this journey: You are the heart and soul of Sammy's. Every dish, every smile, every late night--we did it all together. We love you all deeply, and we are endlessly proud of the work we did and the family we built. What a great find on a beautiful day! The weather was perfect for sitting on the patio! The burger was piping hot and delicious! Topped with tomato, pickles and lettuce. The onion rings were crisp and delicious. Service was good. The tables could have been cleaner. Prices for food were great. Burger and onion rings was $10! Tall beer on draft $6.50 and Yea was $2.50. Live music was nice addition. He was great at guitar but his singing was terrible -hard to listen too actually but if you are drinking by the lake -who cares! read more

Well, after my 3rd visit on Sunday, Jan 12, 2025, I'll never go back. We sat at the bar and had to BEG for a second drink. The bartender was more focused on her phone, restaurant gossip, and outdoor/smoke breaks than anything else. The food: appetizer. The nachos were fine. The food 1: husband got the fish basket. The fish was so hard, it was inedible. Instead of coleslaw, he was given lettuce, tomato, and onion. Hush puppies were also as hard as a rock. The food 2: my burger. It was also way overcooked and inedible. I think my burger dressing was on my husband's plate. I got the onion rings...hard as a rock...also inedible. Bartender noticed nothing (including our empty waters and alcoholic beverages). She was too busy with anything but to notice our uneaten food when we asked for our tab. I can usually drink 3-4 during football. I was lucky to get my 2. This place needs some managerial overhauling if it's going to stay afloat (pun intended). The view and patio are quite remarkable. The food was great and the margarita was cold, but terrible service! Our waitress never introduced herself, kept messing up our order, and took forever coming back. But took very well care of others round us....She didn't even check up on us for refills on our waters or to see how we were enjoying things...I did complain to one of the owners and I guess she did have a talk with her b/c when our waitress came back, she back with an bad attitude and said "I'm sorry you feel that way." Nice little location down by marina with exceptional and friendly employees. The device was incredible and refreshing. Great stop a bit off the highway but worth the stop to relax. Beautiful view! The service was great, our waitress was friendly and attentive. We had the carnitas tacos, regular burger, buffalo chicken sandwich and chips & queso. All of which were great, everyone was pleased and would order again. 10/10 recommend not only for the food but for the environment. I've been here two times within the span of a week. The owners go above and beyond with hospitality and really make you feel like family there. The staff was also very timely and kind. It's cool seeing all the regulars hang out like old friends. The food is solid and especially loved their fries with amazing crisp and potato amount that hit the spot after a day on the lake. The view of the lake is great and convenient location wise being next to the dock. We got the mushroom burger, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken wings, chips and queso, tacos, and quesadilla. It feels like HOME when you're at Sammy's on the lake, I grew up here on Eagle Mountain Lake and this gives you the best vibes. Everyone that works here knows the history of the lake and is local. First of all, this place was super crowded but certainly worth the wait! I had recently heard about this place and saw beautiful lake view sunset photos that drew me in that much more. I was happy to know that they had an upstairs patio area that was much quieter and more spacious for our big party. I had heard that the tacos were a must try which were pretty good. My favorite was actually the ceviche. I normally eat shrimp only but I gave it a try. It was amazing! We also tried their chips and queso, cheese fries, and hamburgers. All food was amazing and I hate that I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures of the food. SMH! Now, the only downfall some may think is horrible would be the wait time for food and at the bar area for alcoholic drinks. The place was overcrowded and understaffed. I completely understand how things are right now so I was okay with the wait. The best part was taking the party downstairs to the live music area! They had a duo singer and violinist that were truly amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone to at least try it out. I know we will return! read more

I'm gonna give a 5 star as a overall good experience. The street tacos are so good, we had brisket an al pastor, they also offer a breakfast menu up to 12noon but we were a little past that so we didn't get a chance to try it. The staff is amazing, really friendly. Only down side I'd say is the bar, but if you're having a beer it will be cold and nice. I guess a lot experienced bar tender to mix the cocktails and they will be gold. The view is amazing and I'd highly recommend this place. read more

I have been here a couple of times but my past experience was sub par. It has a great location and atmosphere. My wife and I ordered the fish and chips basket once we received our food we requested tarter sauce for the chips. At that time they told us they were out of tarter sauce. This family-owned restaurant serves authentic street tacos in a casual environment. The server, also the owner's son, recommended the pork (al pastor) tacos, which were excellent. Only reason they are getting 1 star for this review is their lack of consistency on their business hours. A friend of mine was in the area and we decided to have lunch on a Friday afternoon on the lake. Google stated they opened at 11 am and when we arrived, the hours on the door stated 12:00 pm. We waited... till noon... knocked on the door... called the lake store who informed us they were in the kitchen prepping but she didn't understand why they weren't open. We waited till 12:30... nothing. It was just disappointing. read more

I had high hopes for this new place directly on Eagle Mountain Lake, but left extremely disappointed! The location is great, the service was very good (thank you, Ivan), but the food was horrible. We both got cheeseburgers-- one with fries, and one with onion rings. The "meat" is definitely not 100% beef-- it seems to have some kind of fillers mixed into it, which had no taste and the consistency of mush. The cheese was similar to Velveeta, so it was runny and contributed to the overall bad experience. On a positive note, the fries were seasoned and very good! The onion rings not so much. :-( I'll stick with the burger at Augie's on Eagle Mountain Lake! read more

Where do I start with the problems we've had in the restaurant! Thursday we went to have shrimp cocktail in your margarita glass! After bringing the wrong order out We were informed there was no shrimp in the house! Waiting for our order the bar tender made me the worst tasting margarita I've ever drank! They wanted me to get something else so I ordered Beef (hamburger) nachos. Do you think they could of got one think right NO. They brought out steak nachos. I didn't order steak nachos! This is 2 different times in one week they charged me wrong and never got any of our orders really right. When the shrimp cocktail came out she asked if we wanted crackers and my friend said yes to them. I said chips and never received. I asked for some because I don't like crackers and they wanted to charge me! The man running Sammy's said our food was on them ! Nothing was right ! Guess what ! Mgr was gone so the bartender charged us 44.00 for our food we didn't eat! No More! Waitress and food carriers are Clueless how to wait tables mand bartenders were all new ! We live on EML and so glad we gave this place a try. Had a large party and everyone ordered something different and everyone's dish was excellent with great flavor. The margaritas were some of the best we've had and the beer was COLD. Water glasses were kept full & so were the chip bowls. My husband and I went last night. Fun atmosphere. We tabbed out and the manager approached my husband and accused him of drugging three people. Really? We were leaving. Going home. Minding our own business. First off, we don't do drugs! Second, why would we give them away? Aren't they expensive? We can barely afford gas at these prices. We both ate burgers. (Whataburger was better.) Drinks were good. We won't be going back. Well, maybe, but only to speak to the owner. That is a crime to drug someone. If they thought my husband committed a crime they should have called the police. I'm just sad that people can't take responsibility for their own actions. This place does Al Pastor tacos really well. It's an above average lake restaurant. Super laid back atmosphere with cold beer and good drinks. My kids get the nachos every time while my wife and I have decided the al pastor tacos are the best thing on the menu. The owner comes around and talks to all the tables, so you feel right at home. They've just expanded their menu and switched to summer hours. read more

Okay...let me start off by saying I've been in the service industry since I was 15. I am now I manger of a very well known bar off western center with a huge patio! The owner who walks around checking in on everything which is great table touching I might add but doesn't need to be drunk. The food was okay. You sell nothing but street tacos and nachos but call yourself a Mexican restaurant but have nothing else beside burgers and hot dogs..... Service was half ass, we sat at the bar, where we saw the bartender pour wine back into a bottle that she had already previously poured into a dusty dirty wine glass... that's a huge violation with OSHA "When an establishment that sells liquor refills a liquor bottle the label on the bottle no longer means anything because the contents of the bottle are unknown except to the person who refilled it. Refilling liquor bottles takes many forms, all of which are illegal, deceptive and harmful." A table across from the bar saw it as well and didn't approve... WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. I'd rather have Texas pit BBQ back. read more
