We stopped here on a road trip from Denver to Houston. After 2 long days of driving, we needed a…read morereal meal. This meal delivered. Everything was executed masterfully. They say that hunger is the most powerful spice, but I'm inclined to say I'd feel pretty much the same way if I wasn't overwhelmed by gas station fare. We ordered: Crab cake Steak salad Grilled broccolini Grilled veg Mac n cheese A good fiber upgrade for 2 people on the road. The vegetables were treated with as much care as the protein, and that's impressive. I ordered the guava gimlet, a simple drink but surprisingly easy to mess up (trust me, I've ordered many a gimlet) PERFECT. Balanced, great texture, and the fresh juices behind the bar are evident. Oh and the namesake whiskey cake? Just say yes.

They had a few rooms you could reserve for a private party. They offer a brunch menu until 3pm but you can also order off their dinner menu if you so choose. Since this was our first visit we had a difficult time deciding what to have. Our waiter was very accommodating & didn't make any of us feel rushed. For our extremely picky eater the kitchen made adjustments to make sure he had an enjoyable meal. After we made our selections, I feel like our food arrived in a very timely fashion & everyone was very pleased with their selections. Their mustard seed ketchup was interesting to see but very tasty. Even our picky eater thought it was good not that he strayed from the regular ketchup! The only thing we didn't try was their whisky cake because we were too full from our meals. My wife thinks this means we should go back just for appetizers & dessert. Which of course we will plan on soon. All in all it more than deserves 5 stars. And I wish we had taken photos but we were enjoying being with the kids too much to bring our phones out. Definitely put this location on your radar, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all!

The food was absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere made it such a fun place to eat. Lots of TVs playing different sporting events and the burning fireplace made it so cozy on a cold winter evening! We tried the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, the mac and cheese, and a burger with onion rings everything came out hot, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. To top it off, we couldn't resist the funnel fries with chocolate sauce... such a tasty sweet treat to end the meal! Highly recommend!

It has a much more sports bar feel that before. Lots of TVs. Staff is friendly and efficient. As a few others have noted, it can be a bit loud so if you are looking for a cozy spot to whisper sweet nothings to each other, this might not be your first choice. What made me take another look after so long was their advertised special of butter chicken a couple of nights a week. I really enjoy Indian food and there just isn't any that would be considered "nearby" to Azle. So, I took a chance. Happy to say that I have been back several times. With so many Mexican eateries around here, it's nice to see a place branching out!

I came I sat out with my boyfriend in the back towards sunset and the waitress came out huffing and puffing like we weren't supposed to sit back there when there was already another couple out there. She was really rude when I asked for them not to make my drink alcoholic when last time one of the staff brought me an alcoholic Shirley temple (I knew by the glass it was in and not a styrofoam cup as per usual). Maybe she was just having a rough night but I didn't appreciate it especially if I was the one paying and tipping her at the end of the night. Not my man. Food came out and she came to set the outside stuff next to us. She came and asked how our food was twice and just seemed super fake the entire time. I tipped her what I thought she deserved and we left. Auggie's do better. I love this place and would love a bit more friendly service pretty please :) I don't want to feel like a burden when I just want to enjoy a sunset dinner on the lake with my man.

As the community that lives around the marina we will miss this family restaurant and wish them well on their next adventure. Dear Friends, Family, and the Wonderful Community of Eagle Mountain Lake, With a heart full of gratitude and a touch of bittersweet emotion, I'm writing to share that Sammy's on the Lake will be closing its doors. Since opening in 2019, we've had the honor of serving more than just great food and lakeside views--we've had the privilege of building a community. What started as a dream quickly turned into a place where strangers became regulars, and regulars became friends who feel like family. Every laugh shared across a table, every celebration, every quiet moment watching the water together--it all means more to us than words can express. To our incredible customers: Thank you for showing up, through every season and every storm. You supported us during the hardest times, especially through the uncertainties of COVID-19 and the long, cold winter months that would have closed many other doors. Your loyalty, your warmth, your presence--it's what kept us going. To the musicians who sang, played, and entertained us--thank you for filling our space with music, energy, and soul. Your talent brought our patio to life, set the tone for countless memories, and made Sammy's more than a restaurant--it made it a place to gather, dance, and celebrate. We are so grateful for every note and every night you spent with us. To the staff who've been part of this journey: You are the heart and soul of Sammy's. Every dish, every smile, every late night--we did it all together. We love you all deeply, and we are endlessly proud of the work we did and the family we built. And to the marina owners and staff--thank you for your unwavering support and partnership over the years. You welcomed us, and helped make this little spot by the water a true home. Although this chapter is closing, we are choosing to end it with a grateful and joyful heart. Sammy's on the Lake was more than a restaurant--it was a shared dream lived out with the best people we could have asked for. And now, as we pass the torch to a new owner, The Anchor on Eagle Mountain Lake ! we hope you'll join us in welcoming them with the same warmth and support you gave us. We are excited to see what the future brings for this beautiful place we've all come to love. Thank you, from the bottom of our heart's for every memory. With love and gratitude, The Molina Family

A Relaxing Lakeside Experience with Great Food & Service…read moreThis was our second visit to this quaint seat-yourself restaurant. With indoor seating, a cozy patio, and tables on the lawn, we chose the latter for a peaceful view of Lake Worth lake. The setup creates the perfect backdrop, complemented by a refreshing breeze. Both times we've been, there was live music--this time, karaoke--which made for a fun atmosphere. Service started off slow, but thanks to Trisha, our waitress, the experience was completely turned around. She was attentive, friendly, and truly saved the day by quickly taking care of us, after we had waited quite a while. Her warmth and efficiency made the visit extra special. As for the food, we went with our usual--the three-piece catfish basket, which comes with French fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. The margaritas were just as enjoyable! After dinner, we took a short walk down to the edge of the bluff overlooking the lake and relaxed on a nearby bench, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this spot for its views, laid-back vibe, and good food!Would definitely return.
