Italian Beef, Chicago dogs, French Fries

First time trying an Italian beef and had it was the juices which I thought was going to minimal and got a completely soaked soggy bread. Was not sure how it was going to taste but I tried it since I had already purchased and asked for it that way. So I dug into it and thought it was ok. The meat was ok and the peppers added an ok flavor. It was difficult to eat as a sandwich because of the obvious overwhelming soaked. So I ate it with a fork to try to get some taste out of it and it did not taste as I had expected. Very disappointing sandwich but then again it was my fault because i asked for it that way. I did not finish the entire Italian beef because i had the medium which was way too much meat for me. So I paused and started on the Chicago dog which was delicious and a tasty contrast difference from the Italian beef. The Chicago dog was flavorful, crunchy and a good dog. The fries were hot crunchy and a good addition to the hot dog. Maybe next time I will try the Philly and not try to overwhelm myself with too much food or soak it in juice. I now know better.

It's hard to find a good cheese steak in Louisville. But Sam's delivered! It's a no-frills kinda place. Couple tables, counter to order and kitchen. Staff was top-notch, even joked with me about my order, which I appreciated. I just wish they were a little closer to main part of Louisville. (For those living east of downtown and the airport). But 100% yes, I'll be back for another cheesesteak!

The Chicago hot dogs are the best in town, easily.

There is no beating the sandwiches at Sam's. The Chicago hot dogs are the best you're going to get outside of Chicago itself. My husband fell in love with the Cheesesteak. I want to try the Buffalo Chicken version in the future but it's going to be hard to pry myself away from the Chicago dogs or Italian beef.

This is what you call exceptional service. I called to verify I was chosing the right 4 Whole Wings flavor and a lady ensured me she would throw in an extra sauce on the side just to try out.I got the blue raspberry lemonade flavor and it is amazing . Lemon pepper wings are so perfect (lemon pepper not strong at all) and super fresh!!! I also got the Original Philly Cheesesteak . Eveything was a 10/10!!!!

I came out here because I was disappointed by the hype around Toasty's. Not the most flavorful and overall mediocre burgers. But week-end burgers came up upon searching in the Louisville Take Out Facebook group. Had to come by and try it. It's a drive for me to get to this part of town but absolutely worth it! Tons of parking around the building. It's on the side of a gas station. My sister and I got double cheeseburgers. Thin patties, so you gotta do the double. And we shared onion rings and Cajun fries. Fresh and hot! The Cajun fries are like the ones from five guys but not as overseasoned. I've been missing out this whole time! So happy they're here. I learned that this place is pretty close to where I sometimes work, and that is a dangerous piece of information for me. I got their #2 burger week special, adding fries to it (best decision). The burger had some spicy notes by way of jalapeño, chipotle, and pepper jack. The burger, even with the additions, was so simple and yet so beautifully executed. Truly cannot find a flaw with it. The fries awesome and crispy too. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but I mean this in the best way. The inside and outside and very unpretentious and unassuming, and you can tell the focus is really on the food rather than on gimmicks. The staff is awesome too. Everyone was super energetic, helpful, and taking pride in what they do. Wonderful experience here. It may be a little out of the way for some folks but it's worth the detour!

I went with the jalapeño bacon burger, and it absolutely delivered. Juicy, flavorful, with just the right kick from the jalapeños without overpowering everything else. It came with tater tots that were crispy and did the job--nothing fancy, but definitely satisfying. We also split an appetizer of three meatballs, and honestly, those might've been the sleeper hit. Really well seasoned and cooked just right. My buddy ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and had zero complaints he cleaned his plate, which says enough. Overall, it's the kind of place you go for good, no nonsense food in a relaxed atmosphere. definitely somewhere I'd come back to when I'm craving a solid burger and a chill vibe.

There is a difference between a dive bar and a filthy one and, unfortunately, O'Dollys was the latter with sticky floors and disgusting bathrooms. I'm not sure I'll be back.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.
