Everything seems to be where it should be so no complaints so far. I love Sam' s club because of their bakery section. Got a half sheet cake with my daughter's picture on it plus 36 cupcakes and all for about $40. Can't beat that deal! The cake and cupcakes are not that bad either and the kids seem to like it. Member's Mark Brownie Batter Cake: This was the family dessert at Christmas dinner this year. If you couldn't tell from the name, it was purchased at Sam's Club. With 32 suggested servings the cake was massive. Its official description is a "Chocolate cake, filled and iced with rich brownie batter icing, garnished with chocolate cake crumbs, brownie batter rosettes, chocolate flakes and chocolate drizzle". Enough chocolate for you? The icing had a welcoming amount of grittiness to its texture, and the chocolate flakes added a satisfying crunch that contrasted nicely to the moist cake. Texturally, the cake was not quite as fudgy or moist as a good brownie, but it was an acceptable level for a cake. The member services department NEVER picks up the phone when you are calling this particular club!! This is really BAD!!

The bakery department here is a joke! First, it took a while for the lady to come and assist me. Secondly, she lied and said they do not print pictures on cakes when they do! I Literally have a picture of my child as a cartoon and the lady tried to tell me it was copy-written. It is a picture of my child, I showed the manager the original photo in my phone and then all of a sudden they can print pictures on cakes. Do better bakery department instead of spewing lies because your lack of knowledge of what's Copy written and what's not. read more

We placed a grocery order for pickup today. When we got home and I began putting the order away, I checked the sell by date on the Southern Potato Salad I purchased. On inspection, the salad container read USE BY January 30 2026, which put the food fully one week out of date. (It's 2/7/2026). Sadly, in the past we have had a number of orders where we were shorted items, but this is arguably worse. I am disturbed Sam's is still so poorly managed as to have week out of date groceries on the shelf and to actually deliver them to curbside pickup customers. Customer service has promised a refund. I will be watching for it, but it will not make up for the aggravation. read more

I'm a member of Sam's Club. I find it easier doing the scan n go because I'm disabled and the lines be extremely long. I never had a problem doing it. I scanned every item and made sure everything was scanned and paid for them like I always do . As soon as I went to the exit area to leave the employee stopped me and scanned like four items in my basket. I had my phone in my hand showing her my receipt on my phone. She then told other people with way more stuff than I had to go through. I asked her why was I the only one stopped and she said it's not up to her it's the scanner that tells them who to stop. I felt like that was discrimination. I felt humiliated! I will not renew my Sams Club card when it's time. I will be going to Costco from now on! read more

First time at Sam's, and it was extremely busy on a Sunday. They have a lot of parking but it was wild to see most of it taken. Finally, I found parking and headed inside, the cart attendant was friendly, greeting everyone and wiping off carts before you grabbed one. Once inside I roamed around looking for different things I needed on my list. The store is laid out nicely and it is well kept with how busy it was. The signs have large lettering so you can see what aisle things are down. This is the place if you need to buy in bulk. They have good prices. I recommend using the scan and go app. That way you don't have to wait in line to check out. Made my time there such a breeze. As I but things into my cart I scanned with my phone and then paid online. They scan a bar code at the exit and scan a few items to make sure you purchased everything. 2PM in the afternoon, one register with a cashier was open, waited 20 minutes to check out. There must have been 10 carts behind us, I felt bad for all of them. The supervisor came over and explained everyone is on break. But, 3 were standing around the supervisor doing nothing for the time we were waiting. 10 STARS IF I COULD When we walked in around 5:15pm to go to the cafe the line was really long, so I ordered via app. Omg, Emily was very calmed and collected when people seemed kind of getting antsy. She acknowledged that I was there to pick up my food and gave me a heads up that it'll take another 3 more min. I told her it was fine and that she was doing a great job and said good luck. I recently went to Gurnee and I decided to buy some groceries and I ended up in this place. It is my first time at this location of Sam's Club and nothing is really different. The parking is wide and spacious. The store was so busy, but the cleanliness of the whole place was still maintained. I chose this place for my groceries, and the main reason is that they have a great selection of literally everything that I needed. They also have better prices. They have a wide and fresh selection of produce. There are a variety of options for snacks, and my favorites are available. I also went to the liquor section, where I found a wide selection of different liquors, and I could just choose anything I wanted. The 818 drink, which I think is kind of famous now, is also available, and I never tried it, which made me buy one. There are no worries when it comes to the stocks in this place because there are a lot of stocks, or more like unlimited stocks, for everything. I was about to go to the checkout when I felt famished, and the good thing is that there are foods available inside. I bought a hot dog and a brownie sundae, which were definitely delicious. There was a long line at the checkout, but it did not frustrate me a lot after eating some good food before proceeding in there. read more

I love this store. It's my go to for many things. Party shopping and you don't want to cook? Check! Toilet paper or paper towels? Check! Bananas and OJ? Check! Detergent and dog treats? Check! I know this store like the back of my hand. I'm here sometimes twice a week because of the prices. Visit in the evening or weekends and you'll be able to lunch on the samples. For all of the reasons I love the place, I wish they had a ten items or less line. It kinda bugs me that I have to wait so long to check out when I only have a couple of things to buy. Of course, I'm an anomaly in this case because it seems people go here to stock up on many things. It also doesn't make sense that you have to wait to get out of the store with your items just after you check out. Don't lose your receipt between the register and the door because your purchases are inspected. I've gotten free hearing tests here, bought mattresses, pillows and bedding, and even bought eyeglasses here. I wanted to buy another pair because they take my insurance, but after two attempts to get the optician to call me back, I'm losing faith. Nevertheless, this place has the best values. Get even more back if you join for the Sam's Club Discover which entitles you to better rewards and expanded access in the form of being able to shop earlier than the rest of the customers. read more

Tire department is horrible, they never pick up the phone! Waiting 25 minutes on hold for tire department, 2 days in a row. Hung up, called back and asked to speak to a manager, 15 minutes waiting for a manager who ended up being a supervisor, Lupe. She was nice said she would go find out the information I needed and call me right back. An hour passes and so I call Sam's again and now I've been waiting 20 minutes for Lupe to pick up. The customer service at this club is awful, I can't believe I pay for a membership to belong to a place that could care less about their customers. read more

I ordered an 10 inch cake and 10 cupcakes with blue whipped cream frosting and blue flowers and gray writing . What I received was an 5 inch cake with 10 cupcakes with red frosting and blue Ana yellows balloons. Which is not what I asked for. When I explained to the young lady that the cake Ana cupcakes were wrong so explained there was nothing that could be done, unless I wanted to have it re-done and pick it up tomorrow? Which was not option as today was my brothers birthday and it was the first celebration we have had since the passing of my father a week and a half ago. The staff that I encountered and expressed my concern, not one of them showed any concern. And was very rude ! I will never shop at a Sam's Club again. And while I understand I am only one customer and it may not matter if I shop at your store again or not, I am still very disappointed. read more

Go for the $5 rotisserie chicken! This chicken is so amazing that they run out on weekends, and there are often lines to grab the chickens that are still cooking in the giant rotisseries! The skin is so perfectly crispy and the chicken is so juicy. They are constantly making them during the day, so they never sit in the heated rack for very long and are always fresh. Besides that, we come here for many staples. We're an Indian household, so we loved when Sam's started selling bags of basmati rice a few years ago. Eggs are also very reasonably priced here, and since they have a longer shelf life then most perishables, the twin pack is a good deal. We buy a lot of groceries here, so I could go on for a while, but you get the idea. Yes, there are long lines during peak hours on the weekend. But the employees try to accommodate the rush. Sometimes they even send out employees with hand held scanners to scan your groceries while you wait in line. The total is saved to your member number, and is pulled up by the cashier when they scan your card. No need to even unload your groceries from your cart. What other store does that? They have a good selection of bestselling books. This is where I got each of the Harry Potter books on the day they came out. No shortage at Sam's Club, and cheaper than any other published price! I think most people associate warehouse stores with the obesity epidemic in America. I see it differently--Sam's allows me to stock my pantry and freezer with healthy, everyday staples so I don't have to stop at the fast food place on my way home. Way to go, Sam's Club!! read more

I ordered bulk flowers online for my wedding reception and they were delivered a week before my wedding....WEDDING CRISIS. I called customer service multiple times and was given different solutions and recommendations each time. Finally called the Gurnee store near my house and spoke with the assistant manager Jared. Wow, is all I have to say. Jared understood my issue and worked quickly to resolve. There was even a hiccup, and the order he placed didn't make it to the store in time, but he had a back up plan. Huge kudos to Jared for his customer service and going above and beyond. He truly saved my day. read more

The slowest cashiers and the main reason I stopped going here. I was a member for about 3 years, think I got some deal through work. Most everything is in bulk or very large sizes so be prepared to eat alot of the same thing or have a large family. Thing is they do not necessarily have the best prices so you still have to shop around for good deals. They do have some unusual items and deals so always be on the lookout. Back to the cashiers, I just remember shopping here and only buying stuff once I reached a limit so it was worth my while to stand in line. I would watch the cashiers scan an item, get no register, look at it, scan again, and repeat 3 times for each item. Then they would manually enter in the bar-code number. It became painful to watch especially with people ahead of me with 2 warehouse carts full of stuff. Funniest memory is seeing a "stripper-attractive" woman come in on a weekday during a very cold February morning wearing a very revealing checkered mini-skirt and not much else, no coat. I chuckled thinking that she was picking up the bulk load of feminine hygiene products for Baby Dolls. Well about a year later and the same time I saw what I thought was the same girl wearing the same checkered mini-skirt. I laughed and that was the last time I have been at Sam's read more

If you go to the service desk they explain why they can't help you and if you call synchrony bank who handles their credit card it takes you forever to get to a person that and then all that person does is tell you how they can't help you.... The concept of Sam's Club is great....I just don't shop there cause there are only two people in my house and one of them is a small child. We don't shop in bulk, and so every time I go in there, I get overwhelmed...although, I would never grocery shop there, they do have awesome deals on electronics and exercise equipment. You can usually find an awesome deal on a nice treadmill.... I went her today with my Granny, in search of some juice that they sell here called "Naked"....a friend of mine had me try some last night and I loved it. So me and Granny are walking down the big ass juice aisle...no "Naked".....I had to search for an employee, which took me another 5 minutes in this maze of "bulk land" and was finally told that "Naked" has it's own cooler section by the milk. On we trek by the milk, and lo and behold, we find the "Naked" juice....along with some bananas for Granny and some paper towels for me..... One more drawback about Sam's...THE LINES are ALWAYS so long...it takes the staff to watch a line WRAP around an aisle before they will open up another register.... I guess if I had a bigger family, Sam's club would be the place to be...but for me, I go here on occasion, and with a family member, as I do not have a membership. Only me and my bf so I come here for bottled water and Vienna beef hot dogs, YUM! They sell a 30pk of nestle water for $3.88. If you go to a WalMart super center you get a 24pk for $3.88 or more b/c I havent been there in a while. But you'll definitely save when you buy in bulk! As long as it won't go to waste. read more

This has to be the worst Sam's Club EVER!!!!! I get that the demographic contributes to the issues I usually face here- but the employees are useless. And (again for like the millionth time) they NEVER have enough cashier lanes open. Then if you've already been waiting 20 minutes in line, they open a new one and just let all of the people bum rush it from the back of the line. Then comes the family in front of me (and I try to avoid this) trying to use 5 different SNAP cards, which they don't know how much money is on each.......so another 20 minutes. There has to be a better solution......And I certainly don't have an issue with people who need assistance having SNAP cards- but when their family piles into a nicer car that I'll ever be able to afford- maybe it's time to sell the car and pay for your food? Seriously though- staffing seems to be a huge issue here. The management is just horrible. And um.....do you really need to ask every customer if they want a charge card every time? No I don't and I don't want to upgrade the membership I already have. I drive 1/2 hour further now to go to the one that is well managed and maintained. read more

Sam's pre-Black Friday sale on 11/15 was so well organized. Opened at 7:00am with a long line. It was very cold outside and the staff had hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, and hand warmers. Lines were well managed. After standing in line for quite some time inside at the Wireless booth, Tess the Personnel Manager gave everyone in line sweet rolls and got new padded chairs from stock for everyone to sit on. Wireless booth employees were efficient in getting the rock-bottom iPhones out to waiting customers or making later appointments if they didn't want to wait. A better experience than a couple of years ago. They have learned and do show they care about their customers (especially Tess). read more

Not enough help, and if you find someone they usually could care less. Never have all the pay lanes open. Often the store seems understaffed and with lazy customers who leave garbage and don't put products back where they found them, the store can look pretty rough at end of day. I came to this location and all because i asked the cashier after she messed up and completed my transaction, her name it was a problem. If the cart was not in between us and if her colleagues did not come and grab her, I would have been physically assaulted by "Olivia" again, All because she messed up my transaction and refused to provide me her name. If she had on her name tag like a cashier is suppose to I would not have to ask. Her manager came over and seen her actions and insisted something would be done yet only thing was done was the police calling me telling me I have a disorderly conduct charge??? On account of the manager and young lady telling the police I threatened her. I do not understand how you can threaten someone who was physically escorted to the back of the store based on her actions of wanting to fight at the workplace. I never disrespected this young lady, never cursed at her, never flinched just kept leaning on my cart looking at her in shock as I couldn't believe a employee was about to fight a customer over asking a name. I would NEVER shop here again and have reported the incident to corporate with hopes of a resolution as I plan on leaving reviews on every social platform as the charge and actions were unnecessary. Horrible!! Was diagnosed with a blindness disease at age 40 while getting a regular exam for reading glasses, macular degeneration which affects 50-70 yr olds. At my second opinion a week and 1/2 later, they were shocked this untruth was told to me. The Sam's eye "doctor" told me to take some vitamins and said I'd be blind if I lived into senior years and shoved me out the door. The staff lied to my face about the glasses they couldnt get the lens into. After 3 visits they never got them right, so I got crappy glasses and a credit and misdiagnosed.
