Gas is gas but the prices are usually lower here and they always have enough people there to get you in and out if you shop for anything.

We got the chocolate brigadero and it was a strawberry covered in caramel & chocolate and I just can't think of anything better. This Brazilian bakery also makes delicious cheese bread and other sweet & savory treats! It is absolutely worth checking out if you haven't been. Everyone is so friendly there and I really appreciate how unique it is!

Bigger than the frozen ones you can get from grocery stores. I would love to try them when they fresh out of oven. When I got home to try, they weren't hot any longer, and were fine but not great. Catupiry cheese pastel was definitely the standout. Of course it helped that they fry them to order. Nice, puffy pastry with melted Brazilian cheese inside was amazing. They also give you a small container of veggie slaw to pair with, which gave the necessary palate cleansing afterwards. I personally thought the strawberry cake was delicious with just the right amount of moisture to the cake, but was a bit too soggy for my wife's liking. Chocolate covered strawberry coxinha was different. Rather than the chocolate being fully hard, it had a layer of soft chewy (presumably) ganache, which made it interesting. I'm personally not a big chocolate person, so I'm not the best judge on it. I thought it was fine. At least the strawberry wasn't sour like some I'd run into before from others. Like I said, my bar is low. LOL Lady patissiers behind the counter were all speaking Portuguese and were all lovely. Sweet to explain everything I had questions on and never forgetting to smile or make recommendations. The building is tiny and adorable. There are maybe a set of 5 tiny two-seater tables inside, but definitely would be tight. I think the space was set up for Insta spots more than anything. I've seen some G reviews that say their coffees were expensive, but I personally think it varies item by item. I'll definitely come back to try some other offerings before making a final decision, but for now, I'd say give it a try if you're intrigued. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The pastry cabinets are filled with all types of yummy goodness. But wait, what if I want breakfast and I am gluten free. According to the menu, they have a gluten free toast. That being said, I highly suspect contamination is a challenge in here. I sat down and was promptly met with what I believe was the owner. She helped clarify some questions I had like is the Swiss cheese on the Paris Special, American Swiss or Emmental since Swiss cheese is only an American thing. It is American Swiss for those asking. When in Rome I guess. The Paris Special is diced ham, eggs, and Swiss cheese on a croissant. I also ordered the diced potatoes with onion. The sandwich was good. Eggs were cooked perfectly, ham was diced out of a bag by the texture of it... it was fine. The croissant was very buttery, but I felt it was so buttery, it lost some exterior texture a fresh croissant may have. The potatoes were very tasty, but were dripping in oil on the plate. One thing that seemed to surprise me was me was the unsweetened iced tea. I felt it had black currant in it. That was lovely! Overall, this place is good. The price was not so great. But it is definitely cheaper than a trip to Paris.

TLDR - The Black Forest Coffee drink is great!…read more Full Review First to note: I'm a big coffee person and love drinking my coffee black in the morning. I will almost always pick black coffee over lattes, cappuccinos, and other classic combinations that would potentially mask the flavor notes of good quality coffee. The exceptions are specialty coffee drinks that have some unique combination of ingredients (aside from just different syrup flavors). But even then, I admit I'm a bit wary of having tried many cafes where these specialty drinks end up being too sweet. I've passed by Cherry & Coffee Cafe many times in Hawthorn mall in the past without giving it a second thought because of the very thing I mentioned above - likening it to cafes with overly sweet drinks. On this particular day, which happened to be Father's Day, I was in the area and looking for something caffeinated in the afternoon. I happened to glance at Cherry & Coffee Cafe's menu on google and saw something called "Black Forest Coffee", which was described as being made with chocolate syrup and maraschino cherries. This sounded intriguing enough that I ventured over to give it a shot. It somehow didn't click in my mind that this wasn't black coffee (I had interpreted/misread the description as having notes of chocolate and cherry). It finally hit me when I was ordering my drink and the barista asked me which milk I wanted (it's also quite possible I got confused because "coffee" was in the name instead of "latte"). I decided to go ahead with my order anyway since I had already made the trip over. Long story short, I was VERY surprised that the Black Forest Coffee drink was both not too sweet and quite good! My wife is especially picky with sugar levels (think Kung Fu Tea's milk tea with 0% sugar because she thinks the boba already adds enough sugar) and even she enjoyed it. So thanks to this happy accident, I think I will be back in the future to try their other offerings!
