I purchased a lawnmower from the club. Great mower, starts the first pull every time. And then I tried to replace the blade. No one sells the blade : not Amazon not Walmart not Lowe's not home depot or and lawnmower shops can't order it. I asked a store employee for help finding syrup. She pointed to maple syrup stating it was right next to it. I tried to explain to her that wasn't the brand I was wanting. I tried to show her on their web page what I was wanting. She didn't budge...said what I was looking for was "right there". Wow, this place is crazy small for a Sam's Club. They were out of toilette paper (I thought we were past that) and they no longer sell Ring doorbells or cameras since Amazon bought them. I was told the Waltons are not fans of Jeff Bezos apparently by one of the store employees. They were out of canned Diet Coke, Tylenol, and pretty much every other item on our list. I love Sam's for their prices and I am willing to deal with less options when buying in bulk. This location left me with the only other option I had to get the things I needed being to cross the street to go to the actual Walmart Neighborhood Market. read more

This is a review for the auto & tire shop I've been screwed over five times by this place. Three times over the course of dealing with them they have promised they would have time to look at my tires and when I get there they insist they have no availability that day or that it will take at least four hours. When they finally got me in the new tires were incorrectly installed so that the front left tire leaked constantly. I went back and was told a new stem had been installed. Spoiler alert, the new stem leaked, too. I finally just cut my losses and paid someone else to do it because I can't handle another interaction. read more

I learned today Sam's Club has restricted my membership whereby I can no longer have items shipped to my home. I had placed an online order, received email the order was received, then later received email notice they cancelled my order without explanation. I contacted member services who said they must forward the issue to Risk Management and I would receive a response in 48-72 hours. Timeline passed without further notice from Sam's regarding review results. I emailed Members Services to find out what was going on and was told my order was cancelled due to "unusual activity", and I could elect to cancel my membership. NO explanation given to what the "unusual activity", only that it was up to SAM's discretion to cancel the order. I then placed call to Member Services. I was told they were unable to tell me specifics as to why the order was cancelled and they would not receive further info from Risk Management, could not give me a contact number for Risk Management, and that my membership had been placed on restriction. Like WHAT?? I've been a member since 2009, have a Plus membership and have always paid their credit card timely and in full each month. Absolutely shocked about SAM's response!! read more

I let my membership expire a couple of months ago and saw a Groupon opportunity to rebuy the membership for basically nothing. What a mistake trying to get Sam's club and Groupon on the same page I called Sam's club not once but twice and the phone just rings and rings and rings. Now I remember why I let my membership go. Just for the record I called Costco to see if anybody would answer and they answered on the second ring. I wish Sam Walton was still alive he would solve this problem but I predict that one of the two stores in Modesto Springfield Missouri is going to close because the competition is clearly better. read more

Sam's Club is sometimes a good choice if you need to buy items in bulk. You really have to check the "unit price" though to see if you're getting a good deal or not. Sometimes, the unit price is the same as you might pay in a regular supermarket or department store for a smaller size, so you really might not be saving anything here buying in bulk. You have to check it very closely. They also sometimes have good deals on electronic/home entertainment items too. One disappointment is that they do NOT accept VISA credit cards.....only VISA debit cards. I can't think of any other store I've ever been in that doesn't take VISA credit cards, if they take any cards at all. You'd think a corporation this huge would take every kind of payment imagineable. Apparently, that's not the case. Booo. read more

Am I really reviewing Sam's Club? Apparently I am. I have only used the 'click and pull' option one time, and it was a heinous hot mess. All I ordered online was two plastic chairmats (the ones that protect your floor from rolling office chairs). You would have thought I asked them to rename the store after me...if they are going to offer a service like that, they need to be a little more efficient. I told the lady at the counter that I had two chairmats to pick up, and the keyholder who came over with her clipboard looked disgusted that she had to come over and key in something on the register...she seemed so put out for the amount of effort she had to put forth for me to pick up something I ALREADY PAID FOR. I definitely won't be doing any click and pull shopping again. Sam's is Sam's...lots of crap in bulk that is usually NOT so good of a deal. You have to watch the prices on their staple items carefully. The bakery/deli, the booze section, and the seasonal items are always the best prices--they also have cool gift baskets for the holidays. They don't take Visa, which is weird--so have a Mastercard or checkbook ready! One nice thing about Sam's is their 'deli' counter...where else can you get a hotdog and drink for $1.50? I have also had their hot ham and cheese sandwich (which is pricey compared to the rest of the menu at $4), and it's absolutely delicious. In the mornings, they have fruit, pastries and coffee that you can help yourself to...and that's the name of the whole store. You're pretty much on your own, to wander a giant warehouse and buy stuff you don't need in mass quantities. read more

Went to tire center when getting flat tire. Told by staff couldn't take us until 10. We said ok and waited only then did he tell us that they had to take appointments first. He could have told us from the star and we wouldn't have waited.Through the whole exp he told me at least a dozen times they won't give him any help. I want to say I LOVE SAMs club. We go there once a month and stock up on almost all our groceries, cleaning supplies, and alcohol. I gave three stars for this location on east sunshine. It is a little unorganized. The chips are on one isle then also In the open area located by the fruit and bread. Also when you check out there is NO area between where the cashier scans your item and where you bag it/ put it in your cart. It slowed things way down because she was waiting on us to take it from her hands. SAMs club will always be my go to for bulk and the customer service is wonderful but this location doesn't work for me. And don't forget the samples! My husband and I went on a Sunday afternoon and almost every sample station was set up and serving which made our experience lovely. read more

Wasn't happy with quality of service. Wasn't happy with quality of product. Wasn't really happy with the price. What's left? When my glasses arrived, the prescription was wrong. Yikes! I quickly went back to the store and talked to the female associate about it. She actually talked me OUT of having them make immediate changes, saying that my eyes just needed a few days to adjust to the glasses. So I went back home. After an hour or two, I said to myself, "My eyes should NOT be under some severe strain having to "adjust" to these glasses. I don't need a few days. I KNOW this is wrong." So I went back, got a second eye examination and new lenses. Long story short, the new prescription was better, but not that much better. Tolerable, but not what I actually needed. And I paid a premium price for what I thought were going to be really good quality glasses. Well, I haven't had them THAT long, and the so-called "scratch resistant coating" they put on the lenses has started coming off. Not all at once, but in "scratches," What have I done to them? Rubbed sandpaper on them? No, I've always been careful to use a pretty soft cloth. But the lenses are a mess. Actually, I've been rubbing them pretty hard the last couple of weeks with that soft cloth, hoping I can actually get the "scratch resistant coating" off the lenses so that i can see better. When you go to Sam's Club, you expect a quality product. I feel like I paid for a quality product, but certainly didn't get it. Next time around I intend to give Optiland a try, as I know 3 people personally who have had a good experience there. Update: Re-reading this review, I am struck by the idiocy of being counseled to "give my eyes a few days to adjust" to a god-awful prescription. The woman at Sam's Club didn't want to make the prescription right. She wanted me to just live with it. In retrospect, this was EASILY the worst experience I've had with an optometrist, EVER. To say it was outrageous is no understatement. I've now visited Optiland - see my review on THEM. read more

Love this place for our big bulk shopping. Even as members I still think they are very pricey. Not impressed with the hit and miss availability of some items we buy on a regular basis. I also think it's pure stupidity to have a store full of people, and only have a couple lanes open, and what's with the woman with the attitude up front who checks our cart and always looks at us like we are thieves. Until they bring price clubs and Costco to the area, I guess we'll continue going here. read more

I'm not a fan of Sam's Club in general, and I'm not even a member. However both of my parents (in their sixties) love Sam's Club so when they come to visit we have to hit up this store as it's near my neighborhood. I personally think Sam's Club shoots themselves in the foot because of the selection. I'd like to buy bulk toiletries, cleaning supplies, and/or liquor here but they do not carry any of my preferred brands and varieties. This is one reason I am not a member. HOWEVER - I think this particular Sam's has the friendliest employees and it is extremely clean. Even when it is busy, it doesn't feel cramped and crowded. If I were throwing a large party, I could find some decent apps and desserts for pretty cheap at this store. I think it is above average for a club store. read more

Over all, I really like Sam's. I cook in bulk and appreciate being able to buy 90 eggs in one box, and 5 lbs of carrots in one bag. Although Sam's Corporate will tell you emphatically, that Sam's does NOT have a "no shoes, no service" police, you will occasionally encounter an over zealous manager who will insist that customers are required to wear shoes in their stores. This would be a five-start rating if it were not for these few silly managers. The occasional misguided manager will tell you that it is a safety issue, a health code issue, a liability issue, or an OSHA issue. None of these are true -- the manager is just making it up as he goes along. No. It is not a safety issue. They are not checking the soles of people's shoes to determine whether they meet some minimum standard of safety. They also allow people to wear flip-flops, which present a far greater safety hazard than bare feet could ever manage. No. It's not a liability issue. Their liability, as in the case with all stores open to the public, is based on their ability to demonstrate that they've shown due diligence in keeping hazards removed and has nothing whatever to do with their customer's footwear or absence there of. No. It's not a legal issue. No jurisdiction in the US has an law requiring customers, patients, or clients to wear footwear of any kind. This includes restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, hospitals, doctor's offices, dental offices, etc. No. It's not an OSHA issue. OSHA is, as its name declares, about employers and employees -- Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Further, OSHA does not require employees of grocery stores to wear shoes. read more

Best prices on products I use way too much of. Best price on gas for miles around. Vision care department is very good as is photo lab. Traffic is a nightmare, parking lot is too small and about to get much worse with the new neighborhood market. read more

i did an online order for pickup today. my husband was picking up the order so obviously he was driving 2+ hours so was unable to text sam's when he was close. i called them (because the ap you're supposed to use to contact them of course, did not work) and spoke to a girl that was obviously on a single track. i explained to her a second time there were no directions in the email stipulating this so my husband doesn't know to call & sit. she states when i get there pull into a parking space & call them to get the order. i explained to her a second time there were no directions in the email stipulating this so my husband doesn't know to call & sit, to which she answered the same thing. it's bad enough that we have to make appointments because of this covid crap, but to further dish out bad customer service instead of working to remedy the situation, ensures i will NEVER do an in store pick up EVER. i travel to far for crappy sales people. it amazes me if there are directions i'm supposed to be "following" to get an in store pickup, it's not included in the order confirmation e-mail. so bottom line is, my husband had to go into the store in attempts to figure out their secret process. if my membership wasn't about to expire, i'd be taking the hit and cancelling! never have i experienced such terrible customer service at sam's. maybe it's the state; nope, because sam's.com treats people worse! read more
