Today was a happy accident. Originally the search was for a place that we had assumed was in…read moreNewtown Square, but was actually in Newtown; much too far to go to for an impromptu breakfast unless we were prepared for a small trip. However, this is the circumstances that led me to Rolling Stars. Not knowing what to expect whatsoever, except that I read that they served bagels, I was blown away by the offerings and the quality of everything they have, and will definitely be coming back to try some other menu items in the near future! Not only do they make almost everything from scratch, homemade here, with the bagels obviously being their signature item, everything is fresh, bold and wonderful. They even have a daily soup that is prepared by hand, that is available all day long, even for breakfast. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know that this is a game changer for me. Their coffee drinks are very good, and while not the best I have had, they are fun, tasty and they will make special additions simply if you've ask. In my case I ordered a simple cappuccino but they added little heart sprinkles for Valentine's Day since it is upcoming, even though the drink doesn't have them. The biggest problem I had was trying to decide what to actually choose from the menu because I was faced with way too many options that I wanted. I ultimately went with "the Bella", a portobello sandwich, which comes on your choice of bread, or any of their bagels, of which I chose the egg everything. Within a few bites I knew that this was easily within the top three bagel sandwiches I had ever had, and I am very critical of bagels and have had a TON of bagels and bagel sandwiches, coming from a kosher deli family. I also had the soup of the day which was a brilliant chicken noodle with awesome large macaroni elbows that just totally kicked it up. In our entire visit we only encountered one thing that was bothersome and it wasn't with my food but with our table's, and this was likely due to expectations. The jalapeño cheddar bagel is simply a plain bagel with a slice of cheddar and diced jalapeños on top. Now it was still outstandingly delicious, but I feel like we were under the impression it would be cooked into the dough and the entirety of the bagel. This wasn't the case and I can't knock them for it because it was still fantastic; aesthetics be damned! You should definitely visit here if you have not been here yet, and I can guarantee you will be coming back again and again. I cannot wait to go back, and I didn't even touch on the crazy awesome bagel chips that come with nearly everything!

My go to since I was preg are the cinnamon raison with scallion creamcheese, gives a sweet n savory ordeal. I like taking them home and toasting them with butter under the broiler. Banger. Today I made my order a meal by getting a bagel with a side of latkes and a soda. You can only get a soda, not tea or juice. With the latkes they come with your choice of sour cream or apple sauce. I like the touch of making it a meal. The latkes are square and are a nice size and good flavor. I wish they were more krispy around the edges. Also, the vibe and customer service is always welcoming especially at the fishtown location that I frequent but has no seating area like this place. This inside here is adorable with plenty of seating and Kismet bagel coloring pages with crayons for kids to occupy themselves. They have ample parking spaces, although it gets slightly awkward near the entrance cars are close coming in and backing up is close to other cars. In the past, Kismet had one of the most amazing tuna sandwiches around--tuna with green goddess dressing, crushed potato chips, and cheese on bread. It was unique, flavorful, and absolutely worth the price. This time, however, it seemed to be a much more mayonnaise-heavy version, and it completely lacked what made the sandwich so special. For the amount it costs, I was really expecting the quality and flavor profile that made it a favorite. I hope you'll consider bringing back the original recipe. It was distinctive, memorable, and one of the reasons I kept coming back. The current version just doesn't compare. Thanks for listening to a loyal customer who would love to see the original Big Tuna return.

I was in the neighborhood around lunch time and saw a line of people waiting for orders. I parked in the bowling alley lot next door. The girl at the counter was very friendly and recommended a cheesesteak. I ordered one with American Cheese and hot peppers. You get a choice of seeded or non seeded roll ... of course I went seeded. I sat at the old school counter and enjoyed hearing some locals catching up, older fellas chatting about nothing and watching the boys work that flat top. My sandwich came out pretty fast. The roll was crispy and fresh, the meat was tasty and packed in so tight not a morsel of meat fell out, the cheese was melted into the roll and meat extremely well and each bite was full of hot pepper bite. It was well put together and made. I was impressed and would rank this cheesesteak pretty high in Delco. Not the best I've had but quantity and quality wise it's well above average. The breakfast here is what everyone typically raves about (I'll be back for a breakfast sandwich), but don't sleep on the lunch menu. Especially that cheesesteak! Thanks guys for a great experience.
