My wife and I decided to stop by Sam's Gyros for lunch this Sunday afternoon. We've been to Sam's several times before. This is our "go to" for "Greek" here in Fishers. Today we ordered the Gyros Plater, Lentil soup, and a Greek Salad. The Lentil soup (my favorite), was hot and tasty. I love the flavor and give it 5 stars. The Greek salad was fresh and crisp with a little too much dressing for my liking. My wife and I split the Gyro Plater, and we had enough left over for a half time snack during the Lions / 49ers NFL Playoff game later this evening. The Gyro meat and pita bread is good. (about what you would expect in any good Middle Eastern type restaurant). My wife especially likes Sam's cucumber sauce. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall and is well decorated considering the location. The staff (usually two people) is friendly and efficient. Good food. Good value. Give Sam's Gyros a try. read more

The staff were super friendly. And the food was good. Not the best shawarma and falafel in town, but definitely tasty. I have to dock a couple of stars for the state of the dinning room. There were open construction projects lying around the floor, and everything had a fairly rundown and in need of a good scrub look. If you don't mind slumming it a little, the food's ok. read more

We was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. It was a little early on Saturday and nobody else was in there. I'm confused as why because it was excellent. The wife and I split a gyro and a shawarma along with some falafel. My son had a kids burger which was regular size and came with fries. The staff was excellent and the food was top notch. I used to get lunch here often about 10 years ago, when I was working nearby, and everything was awesome as it was before. The lentil soup was a little thin but that's the only minor complaint I can make about all the different food we had. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to come back again soon! read more

The chicken Greek salad was great. Just the right amount of food and the chicken was very good. Fresh salad with cucumbers, tomato's and olives. The olives weren't Mediterranean but it was all very good. Service was fast and it was easy ordering thru Yelp. read more

I ordered take our from Sam's Gyros. The hummus was decent. The pita tasted like store bought pita. The reason why I didn't just go to the grocery store was because I wanted something fresh. The tabouli is not was i expected. It's just chopping parsley with some chopped up tomato's. -I wouldn't recommend this. I'm curious how good the gyros are. I took my 4 kids to Sam's as part of a History/Geography learning experience. We had been studying the Middle East together and wanted to taste the cuisine that is eaten in the countries we were studying. Sam's did not disappoint! Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very kind and accommodating to me and my children. The decorations were fun and great for our experience of Middle Eastern culture. And the food...well, let's just say my kids DEVOURED it! We ordered a sampling of several things: Gyros, Chicken Shawarma, Spanakopita, Tabouli, Hummus, and Falafel. They we're all raving about how yummy it was and how they wanted to come back again soon. And as for me, with adult taste buds, I LOVED it too! Big hit! 5 stars for sure! read more

Within one bite of the falafel I was completely enamored with this restaurant. The hummus is smooth and creamy, the tabboleh is fresh (though it could've used more lemon), and the baba ganouj was spicy and delicious. We were driving around Fisher's looking for something greek to eat for dinner and this place popped up on Apple Maps! We split a full size gyro (each half seemed to be equivalent to full sizes at other Greek restaurants we've been too). I had a Greek salad and my boyfriend had the Lemon Rice Soup! Don't get me wrong. This place is good. It's just not GREAT, and with so many gyro shops, I was really looking for great. I do very much appreciate that I can get 1/2 gyro, and they're well put together. I liked the tzaziki. It's creamy with a light flavor. The meat could have been a little better seasoned, and the gyro isn't served with tomato or onion so it's really pretty bland. They serve it in a pita pocket so you aren't covered in it when you're done, which I always prefer. The service was adaquate, and I was served my meal quickly. The place could stand a good cleaning, but I wouldn't call it dirty. I tend to notice things like chair legs and baseboards that most people probably wouldn't be phased by. The price is reasonable, and I feel like I got a good value. I spent $12.26 plus tip for 1/2 gyro, a drink, and a side of fries. read more

I ordered chicken shawarma and got ground chicken with rice. It had no flavor and wasn't close to what chicken shawarma is. It was served with a packaged pita that had been warmed but didn't loose its packaged flavor. I got so excited to try this place but was sadly disappointed. Not as impressed from reading other reviews. I tried to keep it simple and ordered a half gyro with tzatziki, tomato and feta. What I received was a half gyro with tzatziki. No tomato and no feta. Gyro meat was a bit dry and flavorless. The pita was very powdery but pliable. I am from Chicago originally and was looking for a good gyro like Greek town. This does not hit the mark for me. Wanted to like this place. The 2 staff members were very nice. The food was very disappointing. Out of spanakopita. Ordered spinach pie. Good flavor but much too doughy. Ordered falafel plate. Babaghanoush and hummus were fine but believe they were commercially made. Falafel plate came with 3 tiny dried up pieces of falafel that were not fresh made (frozen) that had a terrible taste. I literally ate one bite and left the rest. I am a strong supporter of independent restaurants but sadly I will not be returning to this one. read more

Recently remodeled (?) apparently Jordanian owned judging by the decor, with exceptionally catchy Arabic 120 BPM dance/house rounding out the ambience. Made me want to get up and dance although at lunch hour by myself it would be a little weird. Gyros are generously filled with an OK tzatziki sauce and served restaurant sit down style. I usually get a side of hummus which is presented VERY nicely and served with a generous amount of pita bread. It is an awful lot to eat for a lunch so just get the regular size and you should be fine. Usually around $12 with tip for lunch. read more

Its been years since I have had authentic Greek food. A friend suggested this place and I ordered the classic gyro and their Greek fries. I was very impressed with the food, the service, the cleanliness, the safety for the staff and anyone eating that masks were worn. The food was hot and served exactly like requested. Lunch today at Sam's, first time since the first of the year. Shared a gyro (tzatziki) and amazing Greek fries. (Be sure to try these!) Just as good, fresh and hot as always. I'd give Sam's a 5 but Manna's, out of Evansville- wins the distinction for serving the best damn gyro/lamb in Indiana. Sam's was fairly busy, but we received prompt and friendly attention. A+ for cleanliness during a clearly busy shift and yet the tables were bussed quickly and quietly. Decent gyro (meat & tzatziki sauce, no lettuce, tomato or onion). Average humus (nothing notable). Pita was warm, but quickly became cold and stale (mircrowave?). Service was nice (offered additional pita when I asked for a to-go box for my humus). I realize the smaller businesses need to charge more to survive, but nothing about my whole gyro, large humus & pepsi was worthy of $21 + tip. I would say it was worth $12.00. Very nice little place.went in on a Friday afternoon about 2:00 , a few other people inside dining. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our server took our drink order and gave us menus, very courteous and pleasant to talk to. Ordered a whole gyro and a large Greek salad.Our salad came out first and it was excellent, everything was cold and crisp and green and the flavor was very good. Gyro was packed with meat and was very flavorful. The cucumber sauce was flavorful but not overwhelming. Our server was very attentive , we ordered Baclava for dessert and it just topped off the meal. Nice place and I am looking forward to returning. read more

Well for the second time in a row now Sam's Gyros has messed up our order! The first time they charged us for a Gyros Salad and we ordered and received just a simple Greek Salad with NO meat! So ALWAYS check you bill to make sure it matches what you ordered! This time we used DoorDash and this time Sam's Gyros left off the fries from the order! Albeit the DoorDash driver should have checked the order and didn't and that is a whole different issue! When we contacted the DoorDash driver they said there was nothing they could do about the error call the restaurant. We called the restaurant and they admitted they forgot the fries and they too said their was nothing they could do about the error. They said they would contact DoorDash and get the fries removed and credited from our order. I am not holding my breath! Basically the food is good but with such poor service now for a second time in a row, we will not be patronizing Sam's Gyros again. Basically if you do choose to eat here I strongly suggest checking your order for any carry out and/or delivery to make sure it is all there and correct and checking you bill to make sure it it matches what you ordered and at the correct prices! Just saying Buyer Beware! *** Update *** The owner did reach out to me and does care about customer service. I'm from out of town, so when I saw there was a Sam's Gyros here I had to try. At the time they did not have 'Greek fries' on the menus, but it looks like the owner took my suggestion and put something like it there. The service here is great and the food is 'ok', but the last time I was here was in 3-29-17. It is worth going to at least once for a try, but it does not compare to the Grand Rapids version. read more
