I came here with my family for nice relaxing dinner on a Friday night. We sat outside where they had plenty of patio seating near a multi use area that had a couple of more restaurants and an ice cream shop. Service was great. Our server provided assistance by recommending the best appetizer and dinner entrees. We ordered fried green tomatoes as our appetizer and they came with a tomato sauce that paired well with them. My husband had the Caliente burger, which he was thoroughly enjoyed but he did say had a kick to it. I had their fried flounder dinner, which I absolutely loved and the Greek potatoes were very delicious. Our server recommended them over the fries and I can see why because they are good. Our son had the mini burgers which he devoured and said that they were very yummy. I would love to come back here again in the future to try some more items on the menu. read more

Jan 2024 Update -it's been a minute since we visited Sam's on Main so the wife and I wanted a local meal out so we headed to the Railyard and Sam's. We got there early around 545p and were asked if we wanted to be seated at the kitchen window and we said yes. Soon Kara our sever was asking for drinks and if we had any questions. Before we knew it we had a couple of plates of mediterranean chicken samples from the chef. It was awesome. We both love a good BEET & GOAT CHZ SALAD so we split that and then settle on our main dishes of CHICKEN PARMESAN and GREEK LEMON CHICKEN which were spot on with huge serving sizes and enough leftovers for another meal. As we were wrapping up, another chef surprise was presented that was a complete surprise as we were both full but we also gobbled down the sample of what called a Philadelphia flatbread. Prices are fair, the serving sizes generous and very tasty but what impressed me the most about it amazing camaraderie, professionalism and polite communications in the kitchen. These folks are busting their butts to feed a community and doing in a way that was beyond impressive. Sam has put together a first class team the truly enjoys working together and it shows in product and environment. Well done Sam's on Main, we won't wait so long to rerun next time. read more

This area is really nice with different eating areas, shops and activities. Busy place on Sundays. The front entrance is deceptive. It's located on what I would call the side of the building (facing the lawn). The handicap parking entrance brings you in at the bar. Turn right to see hostess. Good old greasy food, friendly service, decent atmosphere. Asked for medium burger, got well done, tators nice & crispy, chicken eggs Benedict dry & or burnt. No Dr. Pepper. OMG, WOW, you cant miss with Sam's. Tonight I ordered Chicken fried steak, home made white gravy, garlic mash potatoes, and spinach. We split a beet and goat cheese salad. How can you mess up this order? You can't!!!! The steak was perfectly season and even better cooked to perfection. Im not a spinach fan, but it unusually great. I think he used beacon grease and spices on it. (awesome). The country gravy was insanely cooked to the best I've ever had. When I first started coming here, the food and service was good. The food is still good but the service is declining. Whether it's busy or not, you wait a while to get service. The tables are wobbly in the front, and have been ever since I started coming. Makes no sense why they haven't taken care of that. You will get them to your table no more than three times. First to get your drinks, second to get your order, and third to bring your food. After that, they disappear on you. When the new places open up in the same plaza, they will lose revenue. I also don't think anyone monitors this page. If they did, the service issues could be rectified. For me, it comes down to the fact I don't think they believe it is important and they have a bit of a monopoly on the customer base if you're local. I give them four stars for the food but the service just isn't good enough to keep supporting them. If it changes and I hear about it, I'll come back. Bye for now. read more

I love Sam's on main, the food is always amazing. My personal favorite is their Knockout Shrimp Hoagie, it's very flavorful and the shrimp is crunchy. One of the chef's gave us a surprise dessert at the end, which was delicious. The servers are great, and I love the ambiance in the place. read more

Hubby and I ate here with his parents for Mother's Day weekend. Even though we got there within an hour of opening, the restaurant became quite crowded quickly. The food was just OK and service was just all right. Nothing really to rant and rave about. Generally an OK restaurant. Perhaps this place will be better for just drinks on the patio? If you haven't tried the flounder sandwich are you even alive? It is monstrous! The hoagie bread itself is quite large but the piece of flounder hangs off a good inch or two on both ends! The fried Green tomatoes are equally as delicious and alittle different then the usual kind bc Sam serves his with a marinara sauce not a remolaude like most places! A Mediterranean place which also serves burgers, and steak. Their country fried potatoes are top notch. The servers are nice and can also recommend food for you. They also have outdoor setting and they are always busy. Don't be surprised if you can't find parking in the plaza. You would have to work with patience to get out of the parking. I am not sure if Covid has affected them, but the past couple times we went the quality of the food was not as great as it was during their first year. This place has always been great. The only small critique I have would be the lobster bisque. It's more like a chowder loaded with cornstarch to thicken it to stretch out with less lobster - sorry guys. The fish sandwiches, fries and Mediterranean salad were great and the service was quick and friendly. The hostess was especially charming and helpful. We'll definitely be back. read more

So this is my first coming coming since Covid and the remodel! Here we go! Location: This spot is location right off a main street Hwy 20. They offer indoor and plenty of outdoor seating. This is a new building structure, so that a plus and they have plenty of room indoors. There may even be an option for a private room in this location. The decor and atmosphere is very casual. You also have access to view the ppl in the kitchen cooking from your indoor seating (certain seats). The owner Sam is pretty nice! He comes out as he has a moment from cooking to touch based with all the guest. Nice little touch. Covid: So masks are optional all around. Some staff wear them, some don't. This was my first restaurant experience where the server and cooks didn't not wear a mask. I still choose to move forward, and had no problem. Me personally, I will probably home back until further before going again...thats just me. It Covid doesn't exist for you...do come out and support them. Price: Pricing is reasonable and food is worth the cost. You're average dinner costs. I would rather spend the money here than at a mega chain resturant like Olive Garden etc. Food: The person I was with had fish and rice and really enjoyed it. He added a little salt and pepper but said it was cooked well, and was enjoyable. I had the fried green tomatoes, which were super yummy. The batter was seasoned well and the tomatoes were fresh. I also have a classic greek salad that was nice and fresh. Service: We had a young man service us who was very pleasant, and checked in on us at the appropriate times. The only hiccup, was our drink order. My guest arrived before me. We were seating near the bar. When I arrived, he said he ordered a beer 10 minutes earlier and believed it was sitting there on the bar all that time. No one came back to bring it to him. After I arrived and they came back to the table, he was brought the beer to only have to return it for poor taste. The young man apologized (although he was not the one to take the initial drink order), and brought a different beer our to him. So it worked out in the end.. Overall, I know I will go here again as it is a local fav of other people I know. If you are in the area, definitely worth a try. I am a vegetarian, so I will say there aren't a ton of options to accommodate us outside of some salads and a few sides like I ordered. That is standard for most resturants and so I would not hold that against them. read more

Been here a couple of times. The place has outdoor seating in the grassy area with umbrellas for the tables. A nice touch. The inside is not large but they are seating people safely ( Early September 2020 ). The food is always good here. Seasoned well. I'm always afraid of bland food at restaurants but this place does it right. The fries, the potatoes, the tzatziki sauce, the gyro meat...everything is seasoned well. The pitas are always fresh. Today we tried some monstrous concoction of a hamburger. It had egg, chili, battered bacon, tomatoes and cheese. OMG, delicious! We appreciate prompt and friendly service as well. Even though it was not busy at all we waited about 30+ minutes for our food. We saw others come in later and get their food before us. The waitress was pleasant. This is hard to explain but there was just a feeling in there that didn't feel right. TV was on and no sound. No music...just strange. The food. Flounder sandwich was super breaded and fried DONE. Waitress was aware my daughter's Prosciutto Flatbread was almost black and had the cook (without me saying anything) cook another. Very kind of her. Home potatoes need more seasoning but were tolerable. To drop $70 for 4 people (we drank water with no dessert or appetizer) makes you doubt your choice of restaurant. This was just a near total failure, mostly centered around service, but kinda the food, too. Was in the area visiting my lady's family for Labor Day (in case you're wondering what the heck I was going in rural GA), and her mom and sister swore by this place, so we came for lunch. Here's what I will say that was good - french fries are awesome. My chicken pita sandwich...I think that's what I got...was decent though under cooked in parts. Overall it was okay. Period. Full stop for the good parts. Moving on to the bad. Server was the bartender. She had a few tables and a full bar - though a "full bar" was only 5 people. Nevertheless, she spent most of her time at the bar and our meal took forever (meaning appetizers took 15+ minutes. Entrees another 20-30 - again, this is lunch - and not only didn't all of our meals come out together, the easiest thing to make - my lady's salad - came out last and a good 5 minutes after everything else. My lady asks for the lentil soup. They didn't have any. She asks what the soup of the day is. They didn't have any soup until the evening. So why is it on your lunch menu and why wouldn't you start off advising us of that? Moving on; when we ordered entrees, my lady ordered the one vegetarian thing they had besides salad - falafel - and they were out. At 2:00 on a weekend afternoon, a Mediterranean restaurant was out of falafel. How the heck does that happen? So now my lady is pissed because she has to order a simple salad, which again, takes the longest to come out. Her mom ordered the fish sandwich, but what comes out is the fried fish platter. When she asks the server/bartender about it, the server brings her a hoagie roll. Doesn't take the dish back to have the kitchen make a sandwich and doesn't even come back with the other toppings for the sandwich. Just a cold, untoasted, hoagie roll. Who does that? As I said, my meal was okay. Mediocre at best, but if it was just my meal, it would get 3 stars. However, the only thing that saved this experience was the french fries. Was this the worst meal ever? No. I can understand my lady or her mom giving 1 star, but mine wasn't that bad. But group experience as a whole definitely drives this to the near bottom. read more
