I used to come here often before Covid so decided to try it again. I ordered a large Philly. They do offer three options for cheese and I went with the yellow cheese. I remember the bread being so fresh, soft inside with a little toast outside. Bread was just as satisfying but unfortunately the size of the bread was more like a skinny baguette then a large French roll. Meat was tasty though and yellow cheese is my fav so hit the spot but next time I'll probably ask for extra cheese as I love me some cheese. I wish they still served crinkle cut fries though instead the skinny fries but they were still pretty good. Good prices, good food, clean restaurant.

It's unusual for me to have a Philly cheesesteak, but I was craving it this time around. I was getting errands done and this place had good Yelp reviews. There's plenty of parking in the lot and the inside is very clean. I ordered a steak and cheese and curly fries. It was probably too much food in one sitting so maybe I'll just get a 7" sandwich next time. The man took my order and made my meal immediately. The sandwich was so good and just what I wanted. The curly fries weren't bad and a good compliment to the sandwich. I will definitely come back here again and possibly try something else from the menu.

Owner if friendly and kind. Cooks to order. Delicious cheesesteak sandwiches and the chili cheese fries is awesome. Business is 8 years old and survived the worst of Covid. Support great local businesses like Sam's!!!

I'm on a quest for the best Philly Cheese Steak (PSC), and this place was close by so we decided to try. I was starving, so went for the big size Philly Cheese steak bomb. Added a side of chili cheese fries. The food hit the spot, in terms of hunger. But I think my hunt for the best PCS in LA continues. This one needs more cheese. And there was no cheese wiz on the menu. No harm, no foul. It was a tasty bite. But I won't be dreaming about it.

One of the best Philly cheesesteaks you can have. Have been coming here for years. Service is great and food is prepared immediately upon ordering. Never disappointed with the dish here. 3 booths available and bar style seating as well. Parking can be tough sometimes as it's in a shopping center. But definitely would say stop and eat here

Chili Cheese Fries and the Mushroom Steak with provolone

Tried this place with my friend on a Friday night, and it was dead. Got chili cheese fries and the mushroom steak with provolone. The chili cheese fries were pretty good, liked the cheese sauce they used on them, and my mushroom steak sandwich was good too, better than some other steak sandwiches nearby. You can actually taste the steak, which blended well with the mushrooms, onions, and provolone, but wasn't a big fan of the bread, it was a little too much. For a Philly cheesesteak, I'd expect it to be greasy, which it really wasn't. The place was really clean though and they had plenty of parking.

With a 4 star average on Yelp, I decided to give this place a shot. They are located in a small plaza with onsite parking. Upon walking in, I noticed their was no one in the store and it looked that way for while. I ordered the 7" cheese steak and 6 pieces of lemon pepper wings. After waiting about 15 minutes or so, I received my order and went home to enjoy it. Got home and unwrapped the sandwich and I noticed how small it looked. Not a lot of meat. The bread tasted like it was a day old and just thrown in the oven to toast it. The sandwich was very salty and the meat was overcooked. I thought flavor wise, it was just ok. I really couldn't get over the saltiness of it though. When I opened the box for my wings, I thought to myself how sad it looked. These have got to be the smallest sized wings I have ever seen. As for taste, it was overcooked and a little on the dry side. I was afraid of this because when I was driving home, I did notice it was giving off a burnt smell. I did like the flavor of the lemon pepper though, but it was offset by how small it was.

    Outside, with sandwich.

There are so many better options. I watched the operator pull the cold meat out of the pre-packaged wrapper and dump the block on to the griddle. He pushed it around, scooped it up, and dumped it into stale bread. The meat was stringy and had a displeasing flavor. It was overly chopped up - why do they destroy the meat that way? I felt like it was like canned chipped beef. It was gross. It was far too salty, which might be because it makes the meat last longer? I don't know, it was just not worth eating. The bread was not fresh. Bread is IMPORTANT. I ate half of it because I was hungry and wanted to change my mind. I didn't change my mind and I threw out the other half.

Love this place and they have the best Philly Steak Sandwich (California Style, Fuck Philly.) If you are one if them people that love the special bread from philly (Amaroso) then you are out if luck. At this place they use a roll that is toasted and packed with cheese and meat. I just love the taste and little crunchiness in the bread. That shift Amaroso does not do it for me, gets way too soggy. If you are ever in Tarazan, Ca. Stop by Sam and judge it for yourself. I am a big fan of this place and when craving Steak Sandwich, this is the place for me.

Work crew and I were hungry, then we saw this spot. I haven't had Philly cheesesteak in awhile so I guess the craving kicked in. The menu had a decent selection of sandwich and burgers. I went with mushroom cheesecake and chilli cheese fries on the side. The chilli cheese fries was good. The whole thing was covered in cheese and I was pretty happy about it. I just wish they gave a little more chilli. The mushroom cheesesteak was not bad. The meat inside was very well done and it reminded me of Philly. The bread though, I wasn't used to have it fully toasted with cheesesteak and had a hard time adjusting to the texture. Overall I had a good lunch. It wasn't authentic Philly, but still pretty good. The service was nice and accommodating. I would stop by again if I was in the area.

Ok. I've seen this place online and thought to myself "if I'm ever in Woodland Hills, I'm going…read morehere". Well.....today was the day. It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

The family vibe is very present and the impressive bulletin board (Cricca's Community) really brings out the neighborhood feel of the place. It's better than the yellow pages, offering everything from handyman services and guitar lessons, to divorce attorneys and mobile RV repair. But I digress. Did I mention how massive the sandwiches are?! I went with the two most popular items on the menu, starting off with the Al Capone (hot Pastrami, double meat, on crusty bread). This is an excellent sandwich, and the meat is pretty lean - not a lot of fat). I also ordered the Godfather (cold Italian Sub - Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Capocollo, Salami, Pepperoni, Swiss Cheese and Provolone). Also, delicious. You rarely get turkey and roast beef in an Italian sub - so good. The service was very friendly and helpful. There are a few indoor tables, in case you can't wait for that first bite. I wish I lived closer so I can visit more often; I would be here all the time. Definitely one of the best sandwiches in LA. If you haven't been to Cricca's, then you don't know sandwiches.

I ordered a the Dom and a supremo on their website at about 1:30pm on a Friday. It was ready at 2:30, which seemed like a crazy long wait for a sandwich, especially considering the place was empty when I got there. But alas. I wonder if it would have been quicker for me to just go in and order in person. Anyway, the wait (and 30 minutes of wandering around target to kill time) was worth it. The supremo - it's basically a slice of pepperoni cheese bread. Which is delicious. My late uncle's friend used to make us a pepperoni bread every year at Christmas and try as I might, I could never make it as good as hers. This one is closer than I've gotten! They forgot the side of Marinara for dipping, though, but it's fine because I have no chill and inhaled this thing on the drive home. While I was expecting something a little bigger based on the photo and the price, it was tasty and I would prooooobably get it again. The Dom - the real reason I'm here: a sandwich! I asked them to swap out the provolone for pepper jack, as I do not like provolone. The ratio of all the ingredients was spot on! The bread was soft with a little chew. Everything was fresh. Sandwich was a good size overall. 10/10, would eat again. Excited to go back to try a pizza or maybe a meatball sub or lasagna!

Our little lunch group devoured each one, sharing little pieces of it so we could try all three, but not wanting to give too much away because we wanted it all to ourselves. The bread was the perfect balance of chewy, light, and crispy to hold all the yummy goodness inside. Not sure why some people are complaining about service here, because every single staff person could not have been nicer or more helpful. Cannot wait to go back and try more things!

My husband purchased several knishes from Mort's Deli. We understood these to be meat knishes based upon how they were described and priced. After bringing them home and cutting them open, we discovered that they were not true meat knishes, but rather potato-and-meat knishes. Had the product been accurately described, we would not have purchased it. We specifically sought meat knishes and paid the corresponding price (see the receipts attached). When I contacted the store to address the issue, employee Kate maintained that the potato-and-meat knish should nevertheless be considered a meat knish. Regardless of the terminology used internally by the store, the product was not what we reasonably understood we were purchasing. The situation became even more troubling when I repeatedly requested copies of the receipts. During the course of the dispute, I was informed that the receipts were not accessible. However, the receipts were ultimately produced and later emailed to me as ordered by the police. Notably, the receipts explicitly identified the product as a "Brisket Knish" and reflected the corresponding charge. The receipts therefore became an important part of understanding how the product had been represented and sold. Rather than resolving the matter promptly and professionally, manager Gail continued to escalate the situation unnecessarily. Ultimately, Gail instigated the calling of law enforcement to the store. Two police officers responded to the scene. Following their investigation, the store was ordered by the police to produce the receipts. The police officers became involved in what should have been a routine customer-service matter. With their assistance, the receipts were eventually produced after previously being misrepresented as inaccessible. What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that my husband is severely disabled, partially paralyzed, and walks with a cane. What should have been a simple request for fair treatment escalated into an unnecessary confrontation involving law enforcement. The needless inconvenience, travel, physical burden, and emotional distress inflicted upon both my husband and me were unfair and unjustifiable. As loyal customers, we found the entire experience shocking and disturbing. We sent the store owner an email detailing the incident but the owner never responded.

There are not any seats to eat there, so everything is to go, but service is quick and the guy was nice behind the counter. Go check them out, grab a lotto ticket if your into that, get some great food, support a local woman & minority owned business, not enough of them out there. Enjoy!
