Ive has this spot on my list of places to try for quite some time. Finally made the trip and was not disappointed! I ordered a the Dom and a supremo on their website at about 1:30pm on a Friday. It was ready at 2:30, which seemed like a crazy long wait for a sandwich, especially considering the place was empty when I got there. But alas. I wonder if it would have been quicker for me to just go in and order in person. Anyway, the wait (and 30 minutes of wandering around target to kill time) was worth it. The supremo - it's basically a slice of pepperoni cheese bread. Which is delicious. My late uncle's friend used to make us a pepperoni bread every year at Christmas and try as I might, I could never make it as good as hers. This one is closer than I've gotten! They forgot the side of Marinara for dipping, though, but it's fine because I have no chill and inhaled this thing on the drive home. While I was expecting something a little bigger based on the photo and the price, it was tasty and I would prooooobably get it again. The Dom - the real reason I'm here: a sandwich! I asked them to swap out the provolone for pepper jack, as I do not like provolone. The ratio of all the ingredients was spot on! The bread was soft with a little chew. Everything was fresh. Sandwich was a good size overall. 10/10, would eat again. Excited to go back to try a pizza or maybe a meatball sub or lasagna! read more

Every time I want to check this place out, for some reason I always think about it on a closed day. Well finally I got my act together and went today, and it hit so hard, I cannot wait to go again! First impression: the store itself is really great. They have a fantastic selection of things to try (dry, deli, frozen, snacks, etc) without being overwhelming. Food: ordered three sandwiches - Spicy Dom, Brasato, and Premio. Our little lunch group devoured each one, sharing little pieces of it so we could try all three, but not wanting to give too much away because we wanted it all to ourselves. The bread was the perfect balance of chewy, light, and crispy to hold all the yummy goodness inside. Not sure why some people are complaining about service here, because every single staff person could not have been nicer or more helpful. Cannot wait to go back and try more things! read more

I drive past Domingo's everyday coming home from work and never notice, until I was looking for a good Italian sandwich shop. After checking Yelp it lead me to Domingo's and thier sandwiches looks fantastic on thier website. Domingo's is an Italian grocery store that also serves Italian sandwiches and pizzas. The deli is in the back of the store and you order at the register. I ordered the following sandwiches. SPICY DOM- This was fantastic. The Italian roll was nicely toasted and layered with spicy salame,spicy ham,mortadell,spicy soppressata,lettuce, tomatoes, red onions,pepperoni and spicy giadiniera spread and Italian dressing. The best way is to eat it freshly made there. We took it to go and the bottom bread got a little soggy but overall a delicious sandwich. HOT CLASSIC MEATBALL- This was for was just ok. The meatballs didn't feel let meatballs at all, more let chunky ground beef. The marinara sauce was good. FYI there's a little wait when after ordering your sandwiches so be patient. I ordered a Brasato sandwich with braised short rib, caramelized onions & roasted peppers and melted provolone. The short rib was spectacular. The ciabatta roll was the perfect delivery vehicle. The inside got soft because of the juicy, tender meat, and the outside retained its crispiness without anything bleeding through. If you're a light eater one sandwich could be enough for two people. They don't skimp on the meat. I arrived precisely when they opened, so I can't comment on the promptness of the service. Frankly, with food this good, I'd gladly wait to get it. I have had Domingo's added to my collections for a while and I finally got around to trying it out. I got the "turkey breast Caprese" (I forgot the name) and my friend got the dom. We were both a little disappointment as there was SO MUCH bread. I went ahead and took some out but idk if I just got the wrong one. The Italian roll. It was also hard/kinda stale. Other than that, the inside of the sandwich was good and flavorful. I'll def have to come back and try to ciabatta if that's what everyone has been getting and I just messed up lol. Cute Italian deli on Ventura blvd. My fiancé and I were walking in the area and decided to walk in for sandwiches. I ordered the Pastramissimo, pastrami sandwich. It's different from your traditional pastrami sandwich but it was delicious and filling. The pickles and mustard combination goes great with their bread which is amazing! This is easily my favorite place to pick up sandwiches from and to shop for Italian delicacies. My family loves to make homemade pizza and we always buy the dough from this location. It's super cheap and amazingly delicious. Another one of our favorite things is the ciabatta bread. We buy at least six every time we go here. Anytime we go on a trip. We buy a sandwich for everybody for the airplane. We have been coming to this Delly for 30 years, ever since we moved into Encino. I found out today that they have been here since the late 1940s! It's beautiful inside. Their customer service is top-tier as well. They know me by name and members of my family. You must try the smoked Gouda on turkey. read more

I just had a chicken sausage and melted Havarti sandwich for only $14 that could've easily been shared by two. The Nonni Mimi is also superb: mortadella and mozzarella with salt, pepper, and olive oil on ciabatta. The sandwich venue is vast, and it'll take you a long time to go through the whole list. The shop also has lots of interesting items for cooking at home. I picked up some Italian spaghetti, a jar of pecorino romano pepper cream sauce, and a tube of roasted garlic paste. I foresee a delicious dinner in my future. Be sure to also take a peek in their freezer for premade dinners such as chicken cacciatore and ravioli. They offer ladyfingers, other sweets and cakes, and all sorts of fruit spreads, as well. Meats and cheeses are sold at deli counter by the pound, all freshly carved and cut. They have a cute little patio on Ventura Boulevard with about six tables. Be aware that they have no restroom offered to the public. Oh no! Did you change your bread? I ordered a sandwich from here back in April and received delicious 'rustic' crusty bread. Today, my bread was big and 'puffy' and looked like it was mass-produced. Shame on Domingo's. We ordered a small Alfredo sauce that never made it into our bag. After a 15 minute drive back, based on their assurance they'd replace it even without a receipt, they suddenly claimed they never sold it to us at all. Yes, we didn't have the receipt--but who drives half an hour both ways over a $5 sauce? What made it worse was the way they handled it: instead of resolving a simple mistake, multiple employees came out and confronted me, turning an inconvenience into an uncomfortable and unnecessarily hostile situation. Hands-down, my favorite Italian deli in the Valley and I've been going here for 20 years!! Family owned with roots back to Italy. I've been countless times and had them cater our parties. They take pride in their meats and sandwiches- no boars head or bread made elsewhere. The bake their own ciabatta and import meats from Italy. They really have nailed the meat to bread ratio, most other delis use very doughy rolls that are overly filling, at Domingo's the ciabatta is on the thinner side, fresh and crusty. The other day I didn't mind waiting a few extra minutes while their bread was baking! Try the Dom, their delicious version of an Italian sub. After golfing Sunday we wanted a sandwich but not just the usual! Yelp helped me locate this gem! It turned out to be real close to my new GF's home. As soon as you walk in... the smells of freshly baked bread poured out of the kitchen! The deli section had all the usual fine imported cold cuts. The sandwich menu is extensive and had something for everyone. The counter staff was lovely and recommended the Dom, as it is their most popular. Once we rolled it out of its nicely wrapped cocoon we knew instantly we were WINNING at this game of culinary delight! The bread was toasty crunchy and surprisingly light.. not too thick and bulky but thin.. just right! The mix of finely sliced Italian meats, provolone, and that tangy spicy pepper spread was perfect. It truly was a guilty pleasure for our mouths. The menu has so many more choices.. I can't wait to try again. To boot, the deli sells a variety of Italian food & specializes in pizza dough and marinara. Sausages, meat sauce and frozen pasta delights await us on our return visit. Was told this is the place in the Valley to buy your items for homemade pizza (as we just got a $400 pizza oven for the backyard). Tried to call several times that day but went to voicemail asking me if I wanted to leave a message for extension 3. Wasn't even sure if it was the right number -- but when I got there, they guy said they don't always answer the phone so be warned. We ended up buying 5 pizza dough balls which was perfect for 7-8 people. However the guy said to buy 5 blocks of mozzarella (Polly-O) at $9.99 each for the 5 pies. The cheese was good but we only used ONE of them for the pies! We ended up freezing the other blocks but have to wonder how his estimate was so far off? And believe me, we didn't skimp on the cheese. Bought a pepperoni that was good as well. Would come back as it's easier to buy the pre-made dough and it did make great pizza. You get 3 stars because it's insanely rude (and against California law) to not allow your customers to use the bathroom and I'm a regular. If I spend $50 on sandwiches I should be able to take a leak. You are a dine in establishment. Matter of fact, I'm downgrading you to two stars. Found Domingo's on Yelp and decided to check it out since I'm local. The deli selection is solid, and once I spoke with the cashier, she was helpful and welcoming. At first, though, the vibe felt a little closed off--no greeting right away, and it seemed like folks weren't expecting me to shop there. Great sandwich;however, it gets SOGGY quick. In the future if I order the SPICY DOM again, I would ask them to construct the sandwich in the opposite order of how the deli arranges it; meaning dry ingredients (meat, cheese) on the BOTTOM and wet ingredients (ex., pickles, tomatoes, dressing) on top. Perhaps the sandwich won't become as soggy quickly with wet ingredients on top of a meat and cheese barrier. I could be wrong. I crave Domingo's subs! Specifically the Dom. It totally hits the spot when I am hankering for an Italian sandwich. I love all the toppings and the meat and cheese ratio is perfect. The bread is delicious, however this last time I had it, it got a little soggy on the drive home. I still devoured it happily of course. I don't recall much of a difference in taste between the Spicy Dom and the Dom, but both are good. I love the market at Domingos too! Great selection of pastas, Italian imported snacks, deli salads, sodas, chips and more. I also ordered the pesto pasta salad and a biscotti to go. Both were delicious! Biscotti wasn't too hard nor too sweet, it hit the spot. I also got an italian sparkling soda that I had never seen before! Lots of cool items to explore there. Thanks to Yelp, we found this gem, & had an unexpectedly amazing lunch: Chicken Parm sammich - loaded with blazing hot, legit huge chicken parm, sauce & cheese, super good Turkey & Provolone (Tacchino) sammich - oven roasted turkey, provolone, mayo, mustard, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, still my fave! We got both huge sammiches on their fresh, light ciabbata bread & loved them so much, that we got 2 of their new sammiches on ciabbata for later: Brasato - hot short rib, caramelized onion, roasted peppers & provolone, this was to die for Premio - a generous amount of culatella & coppa, creamy burrata, & arugula in oil & balsamic, this was delish We browsed the fantastic looking frozen housemade marinara, varieties of ravioli, manicotti, meatballs, tiramisu (whole ones even!), and the fresh refrigerated marinara, pesto, marinated boccocini, olives, deli salads, & pantry goods. It took a lot of restraint to stop ourselves from getting more things to try later. Everyone was so warm & friendly here! There was a steady flow of people picking up to-go orders for themselves & trays for parties while we sat at their comfy tables & ate. Their website makes it easy to place a pickup order, but browsing while you wait is worth making a trip in person. These are some of the best sammiches I have ever had, & their freshly baked ciabatta will always be my bread choice. Sadly this will be the last time I will go to Domingo's Deli. We ordered 2 sandwiches to go and to say they boring is an understatement. The bread tasted like a Wonderbread bun, hardly any add ons and just blah. Oh and did I mention it was expensive for what you get? Finally when I went to pick up the sandwiches there were about 4 employees in the store (which was empty) just hanging out and they had not even started making the sandwiches that were ordered online 15-20 minutes earlier. I have passed by for decades and we finally decided to give it a try. I had the chicken parm. The ciabatta bread was pretty good but that was about it. The chicken tasted tough and overdone. I barely tasted any cheese and the sauce seemed non-existent. My trusty companion had the chicken pesto also on ciabatta. He said it was pretty good but certainly wasn't anywhere near the best he's had. I will give them credit for an extensive menu and the interior is nicely done and has that traditional Italian deli vibe. The service was poor. There were multiple people behind the counter making sandwiches and although there was a steady stream of customers, our order took close to 30 minutes. Totally unacceptable. Street parking with meters and they do have a lot in back, but I don't think I'll be back. Too many other sandwich shops around to give them another try. read more

Really disappointed with my experience at Domingo's Italian Deli. The staff was incredibly rude right off the bat. I tried calling ahead to place an order and was told they were "too busy," only to show up and find the place completely empty. Not a single customer in sight. I ordered the meatball sandwich and it was a total letdown. The meatballs had no flavor, there was barely any sauce (and what little there was tasted like nothing), and the bread was so dry it was borderline inedible. Like chewing on a piece of cardboard. Also tried the chicken parm and it was tough, overdone, and just plain bad. To top it all off, I asked to use the sink to wash my hands and was told they don't have a sink. I'm sorry... how does a dine-in restaurant not have a sink? If you want an authentic Italian deli that's actually delicious and treats customers with basic respect, go to Cricca's.
