I felt like staying home for this visit with the Carving Board and it still felt like an awesome experience! I ordered the Health Nut and a side of Turkey Chili. I also got Deep Fried Oreos since someone mentioned they got some at a fair recently. The Health Nut made me feel great while I was eating and after I ate it as well. It is hard to not eat an item filled with avocado, mushrooms, pickled vegetables, baby cucumbers, cashews, chimichurri and sunflower seeds on vegan telera! The side dish of the chili made it a great combination. As for the dessert, four Oreo cookies that were battered and deep fried with powdered sugar and Ghirardelli chocolate made this wholesome meal one of the best I had in awhile! I ordered my usual Sunrise sandwiches with ham (for me) and bacon (for my hubs), and side of chips and kale pasta salad. Unfortunately, the DoorDash delivery person did not deliver the meal as expected (not sure what happened) but when I went to pick up the replacement, Eddie went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Even though it wasn't the restaurant's fault, I appreciated his kindness. As usual the sandwiches and sides were fresh and delicious. Thank you, Eddie! I've passed by this place many times and finally took the opportunity to try it. I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted immediately upon coming in. I had placed my order over the phone so it would be ready weighing arrived. For my first time I went with the double smash burger with fries. I had pickles added. The meat was deliciously flavorful and the bread had a sweet touch that I loved. Tree he fries were skinner than I expected based on the pictures online. They were also smaller pieces than I desired. They were good nonetheless. All in all nice restaurant. Seating is offered inside. Free parking is available in the back and the service was very welcoming. Today my husband came in for the first time while on our way from Ventura county to San Diego. The staff were super friendly and helpful as we didn't know what to order. I ended up getting their Chimichurri steak sandwich and the kale pasta salad and couldn't have been happier! The service was exceptional from the moment we stepped inside. We were greeted with warm smiles and recommendations. I was unimpressed, however, with my meal. I ordered the chicken Parm, which is a popular item on the menu and looked really good. The sauce was smooth, not too tangy and had a nice flavor to it. I believe the chicken breast though was butterflied in a way that went with the grain instead of against it, causing it to be chewy when it was coated and fried. I was able to eat about the quarter of the sandwich but the rest was inedible and very tough to bite through. My husband ordered the Wolfgang sandwich which was a turkey sandwich with goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and pesto that was delicious. He ordered a side of the kale pasta which he liked. The line never ended and regulars kept coming in to grab their order, so it seems like a very hot spot for lunch in Tarzana. Five stars for service and I'd like to return and order differently next time. read more

The food, service, ambiance and parking were all 5/5! Will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed that they had other options for fountain drinks besides just being sodas. I for one, don't really care for sodas. They had black and green iced tea and lemonade and pink lemonade. They also sell cold brews-vanilla and mocha. The gentleman working at the register was super friendly and the cooks were all so fast and efficient. There is plenty of parking in the back. There's only one restroom stall but they keep it clean. There's plenty of seating inside or outside. Came here after a nice hike up at Topanga scenic view. As far as a sandwich shop goes, it's decent. The name is a little misleading as I expected fresh carved meats, but it's deli meat. I did call ahead and was aware before ordering. My sandwich wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting and was way to soggy. I picked up my order as soon as it was ready and ate it within 15 mins. Sadly, much to soggy in that short period of time to be acceptable. Service was good and quick. This location was pretty empty for a Saturday night, but many seemed to be doing takeout as well. Delicious!! Came with my husband for a Friday lunch. We were the only ones dining in but there was quite a few pick up orders. I loved that everything was made to order, but that does mean the food takes a little bit of time; however it's worth it. I loved the fish and chips sandwich- yes, they jam the chips in your sandwich along with coleslaw. The south Philly is always amazing too. I was bringing my girlfriend here hyping it up so much for her because I haven't been here in so long since I moved from the area. I unknowingly got here 25 min before closing and while looking at the menu board a pushy tall guy bald guy rudely told us in an almost argumentative manner, "just so you guys know we're closing in 10 min" obviously showing an unappreciative gesture while making a hand clap. This is what we found out when wifey recommended this cafe along side Tarzana ave. Intimate with industrial ambiance the cafe exudes classic american vibe. The staff is friendly and willing to bring you up to speed with original creations (choice of meat, ingredients and all). Son and I ordered BBQ Bacon Burger (the whole 6z all beef with thick bacon slices uptop), The Carving Club sandwich (ham, roasted turkey and bacon on sliced sourdough is perfect) with a side salad on a separate order. Oh - all burgers come with chips so that works with the hipster price tag on them. We walked in late afternoon so the place isnt that crowded yet and had our orders freash from the "Carving Board" so to speak in 10+ minutes. This place is so accessible as it is simply by Tarzana Blvd so definitely will come back for a second bite! read more
