Our family dined at this restaurant during our road trip from Colorado. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, and we received excellent customer service from Ms. Ivory, one of the staff members there.

Cynthia the manager is poor at customer service. I ordered over $50 of food directly on Sam's website. Delivery driver who is contracted by Sam's brought me a pizza. The delivery driver said he would make it right and went back to the store and said he would come back with the correct order. The gentleman calls me when he was leaving. After 30 minutes goes by and no delivery. I called the gentleman and no answer. So I looked out side and the cats were eating our food. No knock on the door. I called the man again, no answer. I proceeded to call Sam's and spoke to Cynthia the manager and let her know my frustration of two mistakes and she proceeded to tell me not her fault. Let's just say the call didn't go so well after that. Their website, their contractors, their responsibility to make it right, instead of acting like no fault of her own. I am next reaching out to Mike Othman who is next in line.

This place was so good I had to go back a 2nd time and share it with someone. When you walk in it looks like a regular restaurant which is fine because the atmosphere wasn't what I was going for. The employees are super friendly and welcoming. The food will blow your mind. I ordered the combination of fried fish and oysters with extra oysters it all came out so tasty and hot. It went straight grom the grease to the container. (The melted top told the story.) If you get a chance to get the gumbo get it because we got a taster of it at the end of the night and unfortunately that was all they had was a taster or I would have purchased a bowl of it.

Sometimes it only takes one trip to a place to know you're going to love it. I had a good feeling…read moreabout this place when I first read about it in the newspaper article a few days ago. A friend sent me the link to it on Facebook because she thought I might be interested and she knew that I like to try out new places. Today I was going to the thrift stores over near Plains and Adams so it seemed a perfect time to go check this place out. It was a little tricky to find because I hadn't been north of Amarillo Boulevard much in my time here but I had an idea of where it was and just when I thought I might have passed it without seeing it, I spotted it. As I walked up to the door someone must have seen me approaching and he held the door open for me which was a nice introduction to the place. He instructed me where to go to order my food. They only had one copy of the menu sitting out so the girl who was already looking at it held it out to share. The guy that held the door open for me had already recommended the Chicken and Waffles and I just decided to get that. It came with a drink. It turned out they actually had Big Red on tap. Unfortunately it was not the zero calorie version but I threw caution to the wind and decided even though it was high caffeine and high calories I would just treat myself. It took quite a while for the chicken to be ready. One of the guys later explained it's because they are required to cook it for 22 minutes to ensure that is cooked inside. Well, it was perfect. It smelled wonderful, it looked wonderful, and it tasted even better. If there was a downside it was only that it was so hot that I had to wait for it to cool off enough to not burn my tongue. You get your choice of what kind of chicken you want and I chose drumsticks. Those drumsticks were fat and juicy with a wonderful coating and was some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. I'll be honest, I'm not a big pancake and waffle fan, although I do like the concept of Chicken and Waffles. But their waffle could turn me around completely. Probably the best waffle I ever had. The Chicken and Waffles was $10.99 including the drink, close to $12 with the tax and worth every penny. I took a couple pictures of the menu to post so others could see the kinds of food they serve. It's billed as a soul food place and it is Southern Cooking but it doesn't have all the dishes you sometimes find in other places like sweet potatoes and collard greens. It does have fried okra and I didn't try it but I bet it's delicious. Next time. I've had fried chicken three or four places in Amarillo and been surprised that more places didn't serve it. This place was definitely the best I'd eaten although there was another place that came in a close second. There is actually a small market along with the cafe and it was bustling the whole time I was there. One of the owners, at least I think he was, said they'd only been open 90 days and business had been beyond their greatest expectations. That made me happy because I love to see small businesses and Mom and Pop places succeed. Everything looked clean and I saw them wiping down tables the instant people got up and left them. That was a good sign. And the employees and owners couldn't have been more welcoming. By the time I left they knew my name and I bet they call me by it the next time I go in. The best way to get return customers besides offering awesome food is to make them feel welcomed and valued so they will want to come back . Oh, and I forgot to mention, to pay back the community for giving them such good business the first 90 days they had a free food day last Saturday which I didn't hear about until I saw the newspaper article about it. They invited all their customers and members of the community to come in and eat a complimentary meal to show their appreciation for the neighborhood support. I don't think I've ever heard of a restaurant that did that before. Bravo!

Awesome customer service, which is rare nowadays! I hope you…read moreguys never shutdown because this level of customer service is too hard to find!!!

The beans were DELICIOUS! While everything on my plate was top notch, my wife can attest to just how much raving I did about those baked beans. We ended up sharing a few bites of each others food and I had some of her sweet potatoes. I was instantly taken back to my first experience having them years ago which reminded me just how good this place is. Definitely will be back again!

But if your idea of culinary heaven involves a grease-stained paper liner, an old-school Texas roadhouse vibe, and a burger that requires structural support, you have arrived at the right place. Nestled just a few blocks off Interstate 40 in a historic, diminutive former dance hall moved wholesale from neighboring Claude, Texas, Coyote Bluff is tiny. With only about 12 tables packed into its 1,000 square feet, the atmosphere is alive with a loud, friendly hum, a dirt parking lot, and a vintage bathtub floating full of ice and cold beer bottles. The place is amazing!!!! The unique steaming process is really amazing. You have to try the chili cheese fries to go with it. The menu keeps its focus tight, centering around half-pound patties of lean Texas ground beef cooked to order. While traditional options like the Hickory Burger and the Green Chili Cheese Burger are stellar, the undisputed heavyweight titleholder here is the legendary Burger from Hell. I had to try it, my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak. Many approach the "Hell Burger" with great trepidation, expecting it to be more of a gimmick built strictly on painful, mouth-numbing heat. Instead, it offers a beautifully layered flavor profile. The beef patty with Tabasco and their proprietary "Coyote Hell Sauce," then smothers it in gooey melted cheese, grilled onions, and fresh, vibrant sautéed jalapeños. It arrived on a toasted onion bun, it lands a solid 7 out of 10 on the heat scale. But rather than scorching your palate, it wraps it in a vinegary, spicy, deeply savory warmth. This place also serves up classic, heavy-hitting Texas roadhouse appetizers: Each of these are amazing sides and are worth of mentioning, First the Cheese Fries with Green Chiles, which I had with my burger and my wife had with her Chicken fried steak, it is served on a massive aluminum platter, these fresh-cut fries are heavily blanketed in melted cheese and mild green chiles. They are a mandatory companion to the burgers.  Other appetizers worth of note, are the Texas Red Chili & Green Chili Stew: The thick, hearty green chili stew is packed with meat and mild green peppers, offering a wonderful warming comfort, especially during cool Panhandle days.  and any of the Fried options ranging from baskets of battered fried pickles, garlic mushrooms, and stuffed jalapeños. Because everything is cooked to order and the dining room is incredibly compact, expect a wait during lunch rushes or weekends. However, that time spent waiting in the dirt lot among locals and passing road-trippers is part of the charm. Coyote Bluff Cafe doesn't try to be anything other than a spectacular, small-town Texas burger joint, and it executes that identity flawlessly. This is a MUST Stop in Texas

But compared to what you can get for the same price at other spots in town they are on the pricey side. Something that really irks me is that they have started charging for water in a cup. The last time I went I got water is a reusable plastic cup and I got charged 25 cents for it. I'm just like, "really guys? You're going to charge us for water?" As mentioned, the food is solid and they have decent menu. The ambiance is bright and comfy. The music is the right volume. Something that I find odd is that they have different music in the kitchen than they do in the dinning area. There is a bar set up if you want a drink. They also have several TVs with various shows on. It's a good set up. Ultimately, I'll be back. But I'll also complain again about how expensive it is.

Worst instance now making me leave this review...and not coming back. Started off just standing waiting to be seated, not even in the door because of a group of people. Said they were a big party made sense why it may be hard to get in. Should of just left then. Lackluster attention from staff for everyone that came in after that group. Saw one couple even immediately be seated though after waiting 20 min with 3 people ahead of us and another group behind. (Happened to know the waitress apparently) Saw one table just up and leave due to being ignored and waiting on ticket to the point they left some cash and up and left in a very bad mood. Got told multiple times a 10-15 min wait due to tables needing cleaned off. There were 4 open tops that were empty throughout restaurant, the whole time and then another 3 opened up while waiting. Then was told 20-30 min wait due to the kitchen being backed up. At that point we just up and left combined with the VIP treatment of people being able to skip ahead of not 1 or 2 but 4 other groups of only 2 to 4 people with at least 5 or 6 open tables. I don't leave reviews often and do for great experiences and bad experiences this was one of the worst. The waitresses were clueless high school or 20 somethings not wanting to actively work and instead argue over whose fault it was a table left or why people would have their name written down and instead would leave due to the treatment of even just being seated, but somehow it's the kitchens fualt. 10/10 do not recommend and don't bother.
