    Number 27

Stopped by this place during a roadtrip and everything was amazing. The service was great. We were immediately greeted and guided towards the menus. I tried number 27 which includes avocado, turkey, bacon, and cheese. It was delicious! We also tried their number 9 with dry salami and cheese. There are a few tables inside and outside to eat there which was perfect. The parking lot is somewhat small, and can be tricky to get out of.

Simply delicious and always fresh. Sam's To Go on the Mesa is a quick and each deli in your backyard. I've been coming here for years and always greeted with a smiling face. Typical cold and hot sandwich options for take away to the beach or staying on your break. I like the medium #13 (Dry Salami, Bologna, Ham, Capicola & Martadella (w/ Italian Provolone Cheese)) $13.50. Good size to enjoy 1/2 now and later! Don't bother with a national chain. Sped your time and money locally at Sam's To Go on the Mesa.

Friendly service with simple but wholesome ingredients make a wonderful combination for the perfect lunch experience. The owner came all the way out to bring some tasty turkey bits for our dog. They allow dogs inside the restaurant too! My son and I loved our sandwiches. My pastrami sandwich brought back good memories when my parents had a sandwich shop in Long Beach decades ago. This is the best example of a great mom and pop shop that serves the local community with love.

Best sandwich ever! We stopped here while visiting Santa Barbara and I still think about it all the time. The owner was so friendly and welcoming too. Definitely a must stop if you're in town.

Location: Across the street from Lazy Acres. Same plaza as Mesa Burger and Blenders. They also have other sandwich shops in IV, Goleta, and on Milpas Street Parking: Potentially challenging depending on the time. Spots are tight and limited Ambiance: Simple and casual, nothing fancy Seating: A few tables/booths inside with two more tables outside Menu: 1/2 foot, ¾ foot, 2 feet subs. They have about 30 cold, hot, and vegetarian combinations. Customizations are decent, you can choose your preferred bread (white, wheat, lettuce wrap, spinach tortilla) and cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, Swiss, American, provolone). They also sell add-ons like avocado, extra meat, extra cheese, drinks, and sides. Extra long sandwiches (4-6 feet) require advance notice. Food: I usually order Avocado, Turkey, Cheese on white. Each sandwich comes with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Black pepper, mustard and mayonnaise add much needed flavor. Very generous with the slabs of turkey meat. Avocado amount is adequate, and the provolone is tasty. Price: Average. They aren't immune to inflation, I remember a medium sub was $7.25 for many years prior to March 2020. Now it's $11.75 today! For me it's still somewhat reasonable because half a sandwich is enough for a light lunch and I can eat the other later. Verdict: Sam's To Go is the way to go for a relatively healthy meal!

    #14 Veggie sandwich

Sam's to go is the place for a sandwich been going there for 10+ years still reasonable prices, fresh bread and fresh meats and husband and wife working together making sandwiches.

The #27 Avocado, Turkey, Bacon, and Cheese is my go-to! It's absolutely delicious--such a simple yet tasty sandwich, and it's always consistently great!

Since we don't live in the neighborhood, it became an "out of sight, out of mind" situation. When my wife mentioned her friend's recommendation, we finally decided to give it a try. This visit was takeout, but after stepping inside, we're already looking forward to dining in. The dining room and patio felt warm, inviting, and welcoming--exactly the kind of place you want to spend an evening with friends and family. The NOTORIOUS P.I.E. was off the hook! Slam dunk. Three-pointer. Nothing but net! Without question, it's the best pizza I've had in Santa Barbara. As a chef from Chicago, I have very high pizza expectations. Let's start with the crust: a light, airy, chewy interior surrounded by a crispy, caramelized cheese crust that was perfectly executed. The pepperoni was crisp and slightly salty without being greasy. The house-made tomato sauce was restrained and unobtrusive--just enough to complement the mozzarella, white cheddar, and burrata without overpowering them. The only thing I would change is that it was a little heavy on the pickled chiles. But the pièce de résistance was the hot honey drizzle. It brought everything together and elevated an already outstanding pizza to another level. We also ordered a Caesar salad, but honestly, we couldn't stop eating the pizza long enough to give the salad the attention it deserved. The romaine appeared fresh and crisp, the dressing was thoughtfully packed on the side, and it looked well prepared. We'll definitely be back. If this pizza is any indication of what The Corner Tap is capable of, I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu--and next time, enjoy it from that welcoming patio with a cold drink in hand.

The menu has been expanded significantly!…read more The chop salad was very good though I think the onions overpower it but others would absolutely love all the onions. I will just forgo the onions next time. That said, the salad was exceptional! The Korean fried chicken wings do you need some attention. They were very mushy and to be honest, slimy--not crispy on the exterior and tender on the inside and the gochujang sauce should be switched out. It's a little off in its taste. I feel it should have more of a spicy-savory honey-sweet mouthwatering gochujang balance. Hint, go to Den Den Korean Fried Chicken in Providence, RI--though I need to remember this is a pub and not a Korean restaurant, ...there are better recipes out there that are worth testing out. I think the flavor and texture was off and can be improved on significantly. The pizza was pretty good--great for a pub and even better heated up the next day in a skillet with olive oil making the crust slightly crispy. There's ample outdoor and indoor seating with that perfect Corner Tap vibe. Also, noteworthy, inside the place it is absolutely spotless! We will return as it is a great place in a great location.

He is not a big seafood guy, and when you're by the water, it feels like every restaurant usually specializes in seafood. Happy Cat Eats had a chicken sandwich that looked really appealing to him. After we got our food from the wharf, we drove over and sat at their outdoor tables while we waited for his order. The chicken sandwich was DELICIOUS. I actually liked it a little more than my own food and almost traded with him. Too bad he doesn't like clam chowder! The onion rings he ordered were just as good. The tempura batter was a 10/10. It wasn't oily at all, which is the key to a good tempura fry. We loved the weather, and all the tables had cover, which made it even better. It was a beautiful day made even better by their food.

It feels expensive upfront but with portion sizes, it's a great deal. For a lighter meal, just share a sandwich and soup with a friend, a lover, whoever! The house lemonade and tea are delicious, with the lemonade being perfectly sweet and tart. Soup of the Day was French Onion, which is on the sweeter side, and comes with cheese and a crostini soaking up the broth. Onions are very nicely caramelized. It was tasty but the portion of this soup was a bit large for the intensity of the soup sweetness, almost like syrup after eating it enough. Any other soup - I'd be fine with the portion size. Partner's review of the BLT: "Plenty of bacon and toasted very nice on sourdough, the sourdough with the soup was balanced. I can tell they added a little bit of butter on the sourdough for the extra crunch. Vegetables - they're vegetables, FRESH though." I had The Griller, hot with provolone on a bolillo roll.
