I chatted with the co-owner for awhile and asked what I should try. He was very informational and helpful. I had the mama ramen and fried tofu. Very delicious. This is not Thai per say. It's is Asia. It's not Chinese. It is one of the best restaurants in TC. The location is kind of suspect. But love taking friends here. Pretty small dinning room. Very friendly staff. And you can tell fantastic attention to detail and flavor. read more

This place was amazing! My husband and I love Asian food and this was a great place to visit while in the area. Everything is priced very responsible and they give you large portions. The service is excellent. We had their lemon grass soups, thai iced teas, pho and their beef with garlic pepper sauce. Everything was delicious, light, and flavorful. On a quest for Thai or Asian cuisine when visiting we decided to take a chance on this location as the previous reviews were raving. Small and quaint, looks like a converted nail salon this place doesn't disappoint the need for authentic flavorful dishes. Now if you think you like spicy, I caution the guest to think that through, personally I ordered the pad Thai at medium and well, it was high medium (think street vendor in a Thai market). Not many selections for kids, but our 6 year old liked the fresh rolls and crab rangoon. Venture out, order to go, enjoy the food. Give it a go! read more

I have been waiting for many years for a decent Chinese, Thai or Asian restaurant in Traverse City. There has been some improvement in the last few years with the arrival of Thai Kitchen and Asian Buffet, however, nothing in our town comes close to the outstanding Asian restaurants found in many of America's largest cities. When the Fusion Love project on Front Street fell apart, I was quite disappointed. Then I learned of an under the radar Asian restaurant this spring when I returned from Florida-Samsara. All the reviews were positive, an almost impossible result in this age when even the smallest service slight can trigger a vindictive judgement by the aggrieved party. So I have visited this establishment a number of times since I have returned and this restaurant shows much potential. Probably the biggest obstacle to the long term success of this restaurant is its location. Hopefully, word of mouth and glowing reviews on platforms such as yelp will sustain it in the short term, as the passing motorist will not have a clue that it is there. As for the food, everything that I have sampled so far has been flavorful. The egg rolls are easily the best in town and the fried rice was very satisfying. My main concern has been with the portions. Last Saturday I ordered Kwah Pak with chicken to take out. I was told the wait was 20 minutes. When I came back almost 30 minutes later, the gentleman who talked with me seemed to indicate that my order had been misplaced. They hastily prepared my dish and I was on my way. The entree came in a container a little bit larger than a pint. However, when I opened it the contents barely filled half of the container. I mixed in some rice which comes with the dish and tried to extract a bite with some chicken in it. No luck! There were only 4-5 small pieces of chicken in the whole container-no more than 1/2 oz or so. That had also been the case with the chicken fried rice I had ordered on another occasion. The Pad Thai was a disappointment . This is one of my favorite dishes and I get it for the noodles. When I opened the container of Samsara's version of this dish initially I didn't see any rice noodles. The portion size was skimpy although the presentation was appealing. I will certainly keep trying new dishes from this restaurant, I think I need to do a proper sit down dinner and see if their portions are adequate when eaten in house. read more

Very small, seating for maybe 14 total with most tables set up for 2, so get there early or order to go. Located in front of Weurfel Park in the old Hungry Howies location. We ate in. Very clean establishment. Menu is small but has anything you might want whether Pad Thai, soups, noodle or rice dishes with choice of proteins--beef, chicken, shrimp; several main dish choices, appetizers, etc. Tried 2 kinds of egg rolls, both very good but the crispy was our fave. Served with house-made sweet and sour for one of them which was like a spring roll, and a fish sauce type for the crispy. Excellent! Dishes served hot and fresh and beautifully plated. One of our dishes was Loc Lah which is garlicky beef and onion served over lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The lettuce happened to be romaine which was even better. The produce was all very crisp and very fresh. $10 average for entrees. $4 for an order of 2 egg rolls. Service was excellent and server was adorably peppy and friendly. We will definitely return to try more from the menu. read more
