This is review is long overdue. In May 2025 I moved to the area and looking for a dentist. I found Dr Chiu via my insurance directory. I called them asked for routine 6-month check-up and cleaning, which was included in the plan and was covered. I was told that Dr Chiu was on vacation but another Doctor "Dr Do" in the office can see me. I went there done the cleaning and checkup. The insurance came back said Dr Do was not in the network and did not cover most of the charges. The total charge was closed to $800, which wiped out most of my maximum coverage. A supposedly free checkup and cleaning wiped me out. I don't endorse their practice. Avoid this place. read more

Been with this guy since 2006. Can't recommend him enough. Good bedside manners and awesome assistant keeps my smile beautiful. Booking is tough but that just tells you how popular he is. No one I have referred him to ever complained, and always returned to boot! read more

Dr. Chiu is a very nice and competent dentist. He also does teeth cleanings. FYI he is now at Dental Fabulous.

My friend Liang recommended this dentist years ago says he's gone to him for 20 years but I think the guy may have retired. The sign on the door says moved to Dental Fabulous but there's another dentist name on that door. I know Dr Chiu since 1994- the year I move to Mountain-View from France. The 2 countries carry 2 different systems of healthcare hence I took sometimes to understand how the US system working. During this time, I got an abscess tooth needed to see a dentist quickly; I still remember that I told him I couldn't pay more than $50. He cared for me without talking about money. I'm touched with this human behavior in front of the person in pain, in need. Since this day our family has been under his care. This is one of best dentists that I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of dentists! Pros: The front office staff is super organized and very welcoming. I never have to wait very long. They are very punctual with their appointments. The dental assistant is very knowledgeable and gentle. Dr. Chiu is efficient and skillfull. The office is very clean and the equipment is modern. Cons: I would like for Dr. Chiu to explain more what he is doing as he is working. I like to know what is going on in my mouth. I'm sure he would tell me more if I asked, but it is more time efficient to not have everything explained to me. He tells me the important things, so not a big negative. They do not provide eye protection like some other dentists that I have had, so you have to close your eyes when they do the heavy drilling to keep water or debris from possibly going into your eyes. read more

Best dentist ever! Another yelp find, I went to Dr. Chiu for my yearly checkup. Here are the ways he is awesome: 1. Cost: With my insurance, the initial fee was only $95, significantly less then the other nearby dentist were requesting for x-rays, exam, and cleaning. 2: Friendly staff: The most cheerful, helpful, sincere, and skilled dental staff I have ever encountered. 3. Thoroughness: Dr. Chiu, rather then a technician, performed a very patient and careful tooth-by-tooth exam. He told me that my orthodontist had left cement on my teeth, and then, without my asking, removed it with some special tool. This extra was included in my exam fee! I was really grateful, as the roughness had been bothering me. I wish Dr. Chiu had been my orthodontist! read more

Dr. Chiu has been my dentist pretty much my whole life, and I haven't had a single complaint. He is very friendly and honest. Doesn't overcharge you and never tries to sell unnecessary services to you. His office staff are also quite friendly. So this is what a real Silicon Valley dentist is like. Just got back from Dr. Chiu's office, and feel like I've just been at a spa. His was the most precise, thorough cleaning I've ever had, and also (more importantly?) so discomfort-free that I just felt like I was chilling in a lounge chair for 40 mins. My teeth now feel glassy and smooth, and not a drop of blood or a single raw gum in the process. He worked from one side while the assistant simultaneously managed the water spray and pickup vacuum from the other side, which I think is responsible for the fact that I never had any water buildup in my mouth to avoid gagging on. Again eliminating a typical source of discomfort in dental cleanings. This is weird to say, but I'm sortof looking forward to going back in 6 months. read more

I go to them during my lunch break, and they always do their examination and cleaning efficiently and professionally so that I'm out of there and on with the rest of my day. I'm standing here next to my 3-year-old son right now, sending myself a reminder to call the dentist tomorrow. He says his tooth is hurting. This is the same tooth that Dr. Chiu said was developing a cavity at my son's first ever dentist appointment a couple of months ago. Well, Dr. Chiu was right! The best part about this dentist is that they are straightforward about everything and never pressure you for services. Otherwise, they would have insisted on filling his tooth that day. I found this dentist when I used to live in Mountain View. Now I live in North San Jose and it's a long drive over there, but it's hard to find a trustworthy dentist so I always choose to make the drive over instead of looking for a local one. The staff are all very friendly and full of smiles. I once had a billing issue due to my wife and I both having insurance. They were insisting that I pay more than I expected to pay out of pocket. I got them on a 3-way call with the insurance company and we quickly worked it out so my copay was the usual low amount I expected. I never had any problems after that. As long as I live here in the bay area, I won't bother with any other dentist. I really like these folks (both of them). read more

This is an excellent dental practice. Their price for oral exam and X-ray was very reasonable. The office staff and is very friendly. There was great ease in scheduling an appointment. The office is also very clean and modern. My appointment also started right on time as scheduled. Dr. Chiu did a very thorough examination tooth by tooth and explained what he did as he did. I love this dental practice. Both me and my wife have been coming here for over 10 years when we first moved to the Bay area and were living in Mountain View for our regular check ups. We no longer live in Mountain View but still prefer the longer drive to this place instead of trying to find another good dentist. Super friendly Doctors and front office staff, predictable appointment times, and no nonsense service. They've never tried to push services or extra work on us. I am very particular about limiting x-rays as much as possible and have never felt pressured to do x-rays by them after I told them my feelings about x-rays. read more
