This was not where I planned to go, but it was the last place I went. When I walked in Earl was clearly knowledgeable and wanting to sell quality products at fantastic prices. So, when you get married, you have to buy rings. This sucks. Especially if you have grandma's engagment ring, and what you had in mind for a wedding band to go with it doesn't exist. So, I found something on the internets that I like and can live with, a simple channel set band with a dip in it to accomodate the setting on the other ring... something that almost every jeweler carries, a fact that we decided to capitalize on. Enter Fiesta Mall Jewelers... all 50 of them. We shopped around a little bit, found that almost every jeweler is less than helpful, and sometimes completely unfriendly.... Except for Heidi at Samuel's Jewelers. Heidi was FANTASTIC. She was fun, excited for us, and went out of her way to make sure that we were happy with our decision. She gave me a hug when we left. She reminded both the Hubs and I of my aunt Carrie, a very good thing. Now, I am a reasonable, rational person, and I totally understand that Heidi was simply a great salesperson who knows just what to do and say to make the sale, and we probably spent a few dollars more than we could have elsewhere, but a good experience is important too. We left feeling pretty good about it. And you know what, when we went back in to pick up the ring, Heidi remembered us - by name. I think that is pretty awesome, and salesmen everywhere should take note. Why 4 stars? It's in Fiesta Mall... you understand. So. Get married. Go to Samuel's in Fiesta. Talk to Heidi. I purchased my ring at Schubach Jewelers, a subsidiary of Samuels Jewelers, in Utah. See my review on that, if you like, but I have been nothing but disappointed with any of the jewelry stores in the Samuels Jewelers family. Don't get me wrong--the salespeople are always fantastic. They're knowledgeable, nice, and good at what they do. Unfortunately for them, they seem to work for the crappiest jewelry chain in the country. Poor souls. Whenever I'd go in to get my ring plated at the Schubach in Utah, there was always some kind of excuse: our jeweler is out of town/on vacation/not taking orders for a couple weeks. What? So, I was excited when we moved to AZ--bigger market, much bigger city, better availability and service, right? Wow, wrong. It was even worse than in Utah. I called on the 20th because I ended up at Fiesta Mall, where their old location was. They told me where the new location was, and I said I needed to bring my ring in to be plated, but that I probably wouldn't make it in that day but would be there soon. They didn't mention what I found out, after an hour drive, the following Monday. Their jeweler wouldn't be back until the end of February. Thanks for letting me know when I called... The associate said I could leave my ring there and get it when he was back and taking orders again. Um, really? Not going to happen. I asked if they were bringing in another jeweler temporarily to serve customers in his absence. Nope. Do they have any partnerships or agreements with other jewelers so I could get my ring taken care of in a timely manner? Nope. Where's the nearest location? Oh, Peoria. Arrowhead. Lovely. The saleswoman was apologetic but it was clear she was bound by what her company does when their jeweler goes out of town: nothing. Impressive way to make sure to seal the deal that I will never buy from this company again after my experiences with Schubach. Bummer for them. because I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this happen... my timing over the course of four years, while possibly bad, cannot be consistently that terrible. Oh well! Please read this entire review, it does end well... My fiance purchased my engagement ring from a man who purchased the ring from Samuel's Jewelers, Mesa location, a couple of months prior. Unfortunately, their engagement broke off. The ring is beautiful with sentimental value, of course. A month later, it lost a small stone. I took it to my jeweler, a very reputable, long-standing and local business in Phoenix. They informed me the setting was defective and to return the ring for repair or replacement as it would cost me a lot of money for them to do it and Samuel's should stand behind the workmanship of their makers. I called Samuel's and after months of arguing back and forth, I'm at my wit's end. I even drove the hour from my home, near Arrowhead to their location in Mesa where the ring was purchased to be treated like a non-customer and quite honestly a royal pain in their neck. It was heart-wrenching. This company touts their jewelry as being the best and yet, going online, I'm seeing lots of other clients who have the same problem... losing small stones and Samuel's not standing behind the workmanship of their designers and manufacturers. I can purchase a TV from Best Buy, sell it to another person a week later and that person can take it to the manufacturer and get it fixed or replaced within a year of the purchase as it's under the manufacturers' warranty. I can buy a car, sell that car to another person a year later and if the car is still under the manufacturers' warranty, it will still be fixed according to the warranty. If I purchase jewelry from my jeweler and it loses stones due to their mistake, they will stand behind their work and either fix or replace the piece. So why is it that Samuel's, a national company, cannot stand behind their work and either fix or replace that which is defective? I do not understand this but the store manager seemed to feel I didn't understand what he was trying to tell me... on the contrary, I did. He wanted me to know that Samuel's Jewelers is not a reputable company and anyone interested in making a purchase, buyer beware... :-( Update - Next Day - I received a call from the Store Manager this morning and he felt so bad when I walked out of the store that he's going the extra mile to make my Samuel's experience awesome. I was feeling so deflated and now I have incredible hope. Therefore, I am changing my stars from one to four. Thank you so much for helping me have my engagement ring fixed! read more

Excellent and genuine customer service! My husband lost his ring the day after we got married (it was too big). I found it later that day when we were preparing to leave for our extended RV honeymoon. There were not many Samuels along our route, but we found one in Mesa AZ where our replacement ring was shipped. I kept calling Nicole telling her we would be there in one more week, one more week. It took us longer than we initially planned to pick up the ring so needless to say...we were anxious. After a few weeks, we arrived and were warmly greeted by Earl and Nicole. Unfortunately, when we slipped on the ring, it was again too big. Earl was adamant about not kicking the problem down the curb and sending us to a store in California. Nicole and Earl did some diligent investigating and instead of us waiting weeks for a replacement, they had the right size shipped from a Colorado store two days later while we were still in the area. So we got resolution. The jeweler they used soldered someone else's band to her ring. We only see one small imperfection on it. Thank God they found it. The staff was extremely nice and apologetic. I went there in March with the love of my life to purchase my ring. One of the prongs broke on the set so I had to take the ring back to get fixed. In which they worked on the ring and called me back on Friday to pick the ring up, after returning home and the next morning I got up as usual to get ready for work and while doing so I noticed that the ring had turned black on the bottom of the ring. The ring was made of gold, silver, and platinum. They did not know to much about the ring being made of all three items. Well the manager had told me that they would send for another ring like the one that I had and upon receiving the ring if there are any problems that it would be replaced with something different. Well here it is a week later after getting the ring back and having more problems with the ring. So I made the hour and half drive back to the valley and spoke to the manager (Earl) once again and he took the ring back and exchanged it with a set that was a little more cost than what I had originally purchased the first ring for. I want to say thank to him my wedding is going to be a very happy day. read more
