Update - 01/2023 So, since my last review, the place has been renovated and the sushi quality has really improved. The birthday picture wall is gone. Sad, but the place looks so much better. It has a cool new vibe with colored LED lighting throughout. The place feels newer, cleaner, and more modern. The hibachi still tastes great and now this is a "go to" sushi place for us where more advanced sushi, like toro and Ikura, are recommended. There is also outdoor seating, which is nice. Parking is still in back if you don't find a place in front on the street. On weekends and holidays, the place can get busy at peak times, especially at the hibachis, so make reservations. They also have an online app for ordering if you prefer delivery or pickup. Service is always friendly and accommodating. Remember to tip well.

Update we've been ordering during Covid and the sushi is excellent. 4 stars. The service is good and the price is good. We have ordered about three times and have not been disappointed. I gave them another star. So good. Old review giving Samurai 3 stars, but all I had was the hibachi. I'll try the sushi and if it's good bill give them another star. Our friend had a party there and the service was great. The hibachi was good, and the chef put on a good show. They were very accommodating. You get a good amount of food for your money, and the prices are not terrible for sushi and Hibachi.

Order trough yelp and who know how much they charge the restaurant

Delicious sushi appetizer portions though are smaller than in past and it's more expensive. Haven't had a meal there in a while just getting usual honey moon appetizer which is always good sushi on the other hand is hit or miss so I rather not to miss and stick with what I know. Just know that if u order on yelp it's even more expensive, there is extra fee on customer and the restaurant. They adding it without letting the customers know, quite disappointed with yelp for being not transparent with they fees. 3 stars for samurai 1 for yelp

This place was a perfect stop for lunch. They have set up an inviting outdoor dining area, shaded and not. We were warmly greeted by our waitress. We ordered a refreshing cold Saki to start our meal. I ordered the sashimi lunch which comes with soup, salad and one additional roll of your choice off lunch menu, got my fav tempura shrimp roll. My husband ordered the two roll lunch which also comes with soup and salad. He ordered a spicy tuna and eel avocado rolls! Everything was great! We had only had hibachi in the past , tables are not open yet, but truly enjoyed our outdoor lunch, will be back!

Great sushi spot! Less expensive than Asagao up the street and the quality of the fish is pretty good. I've dined in once and the service was great, and the staff are always very friendly and efficient every time I come grab a takeout order. It has a basic sushi restaurant vibe, not huge on the inside but nice enough. It's a bit dark inside but honestly no complaints!

I came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and enjoy the feel of this restaurant. The presentation was beautiful and the fish was very fresh. If I am ever in this area again, I will come back.

The hibachi experience was good but the food was great. Such big portions too! Had the filet mignon and it was so tender, like butter!

The staff there were exceptionally kind, helpful, and professional! We sat at the bar noting how well kept the bar area was! After cruising the cocktail menus, I ordered a red orange bourbon cocktail and my wife a blueberry smash. We decided on their barbarian pretzel as a starter. Huge warm and delicious! Make sure you ask for the cheese sauce as well! For our meals, my wife ordered the chicken street tacos with cheese and I ordered their lobster grilled cheese. Our meals came out relatively quickly and were very well presented! My lobster grilled cheese was scrumptious! And surprisingly, my wife ate 2 1/3 of her tacos! They were that good! It was a terrific little stop and we hope to stop in again! Thank you all.

When we arrived, at approximately 1:30 PM, we were the only customers present. All the tables were set and well presented and the tavern overall was very lovely. We sat at the bar and perused their menu. My wife and I decided on having iced teas today. Must say their iced tea was very good! We also ordered their Housemade chips as a starter. They were excellent! I had my eyes set on the crab and corn chowder. I asked our bartender/waitress what was the size differences between a cup and a bowl. She was not too helpful with her description, but one of the other staff chimed in that the bowl was about double the size of the cup. For a dollar more, why not? I must say it was delicious and I was very happy to have ordered it! For our meals, my wife ordered their chicken quesadilla, and I ordered their Caesar salad with grilled chicken blackened. My wife's quesadilla was enormous! Two tortillas filled with chicken and cheese! A side of sour cream and salsa came with it. My Caesar salad arrived, it was huge as well; however, there was no grilled chicken on it! I double checked with my wife to ensure I did ask what I thought I did, and she assured me that was the case. The salad was very good! Unfortunately, it just didn't have the protein I had asked for. At least our bill reflected exactly what we were presented. Our bartender was concentrating on another table that arrived while we were finishing up so it took some time for us to receive our bill. Four stars for the food, but due to service three overall.

It was most unusual that our party of four all ordered the same. We started with a special app - Fried Shrimp & Calamari. Soo Delish! We followed with the signature dish, Cod Fish & Chips. I have had this entree in, I'd estimate, 50 restaurants, including several in England where I think it originated. NONE even come close to here! Oh My - the two big, thick pieces of lightly battered fresh cod fried to perfection! Flaky, moist and delectable. It just doesn't get any better! Wow! The fresh, hand-cut thick fries were again fried to perfection. Golden crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. I don't know what their secret frying technique is or the type of oil they use but the flavor is light and delicious. Even their homemade coleslaw tastes like they just made it - so fresh with a little tang - Mmm! We ended with a very unique lemon flan, even though we all said we couldn't eat another thing. Overall, portions are generous (we took home some left overs!), service staff were friendly and attentive, and the Owner & Head Chef, Elmer came out to check on us and tell us some of his culinary encounters with blue fin tuna.
