Doesn't look like much when you walk past. I stumbled in with some boys hoping to find the finest sushi in the land. We were suggested to try the Erie Sunset Roll. We were not disappointed. My one friend described it as ... "a hockey puck from heaven." And another exclaimed "it's like they fit the whole garden in this thing!" Terrible service, long wait time, do not eat here! Wish I could give zero star. We arrived at 12 on a Sunday and we are the only table ordering food. Still, we waited almost 1 hour (!!!) for a poke bowl and 6 sushi (!!!). The waitress said nothing to us during the one hour. The chef at the sushi bar was chatting with some other customer and my poke bowl sat on the counter for almost fifteen minutes until I actually asked the waitress for it. On the menu it says large portion of salmon but I only got ～6 pieces of salmon out of 20 pieces of tuna (well it might be a good thing for tuna lovers but if is false advertisement on the menu!). The people that work here are borderline mentally disabled. I ordered a to-go sushi order at 6pm with an estimated time of being ready at 6:35. I got there a little early and just informed them that i was waiting. The two idiots making the sushi were joking around and doing whatever the f*ck they wanted besides making my food. I had to wait till 7 pm to get my FOUR ROLLS OF SUSHI. It took a WHOLE HOUR to roll up four different sushi rolls. What a great place to have dinner and drinks. We had never been there before. The server was great in explaining there different options. The food was delicious. I had the salmon hibachi with fried rice and vegetables. My son had a sushi dinner plate with the salad and soup. Both were fantastic and there was a lot of food! We definitely will be going back. We decided to go here for dinner and try the new sushi place in town. By far, the best sushi in Erie Pennsylvania! Not only the best but the freshest too. I very rarely give five stars but wish I could give 4 1/2 to this place. The decor is fantastic in my humble opinion, and they did a great job with that. The seasonings and flavors were perfect... not too salty or dripping in sauce. My son's favorite was the filet/shrimp hibachi combo. I ordered a Pho and shrimp tempura roll. The latter is average but too much sauce on them. The former is less than average. I ate an authentic Pho in Niagara Falls (Canada side) at a Pho restaurant so at least I know a good Pho. The Pho I ate was just terrible. There were only 1.5 slices of beef as a topping, the broth was not really tasty. As I recall, a good Pho is covered with generous amount of beef slices and savory broth enhances the entire taste but Samurai Kichen's counterpart is not even close. I was extremely disappointed. A long time ago there was a restaurant, Pho 77 (I believe that's the name) near the airport, and I now miss that great Vietnamese cuisine. read more
