Food was overall good but nothing special. Rainbow rolls were delicious and have a lot of fish on them. My husband liked his pork katsu. I would not recommend getting the boba tea here. We ordered the taro milk tea and it's overly sweet but doesn't taste like taro. The color looks off too, like a deeper purple. We went for a late lunch on Sunday and there was no wait. 1st time to this japanese restaurant. My son and i just dropped in for a quick snack at about 2pm during the week. The restaurant was empty except two tables and now us. We sat at the sushi bar since we were just going to order sushi. I saw the help needed sign as we entered. The owner was friendly and nice, but service was slowww. The food was excellent including the dessert drink, the avocado smoothie. It was thick, creamy and sweet. It was like a milk shake without the ice cream. (No picture, sorry)..its a must try! The poke bowl was fresh and tasty. My son loved the flavor of the marinade with the tuna. Very good he said. I chose the Kabuki roll $13.99 because if i see something different than normal stuff, I got to try it. The menu said apple in it. Interesting. So it has spicy yellowtail, apple, yellowtail tuna with chef's special sauce. The apple taste was just a hint and i.liked it inside the roll. It went well with the roll. I didnt think the roll was spicy though. It was good enough i would order it again. I would like to come back again but maybe if they get more help. We waited a long time for the sushi roll and I read some other yelp reviews of slow service as well. Just FYI. read more

After scrolling through the gigantic menu of options we finally made our choice. We did take out due to weather and such. Calling took a few as it took a few attempts. Connected and at first the reception was fast and not friendly. However I was patient not knowing what was going on in the background. I gave my order. I ordered the Explosion roll, Philadelphia roll and Washington roll. Prices are a little higher than I would like but we are in the north away from the port. The flavors of the explosion roll are spot on. We preferred it without soy sauce. The crunch from the tempura was a delight. The Washington roll was a fun treat to try with the ingredients. The cavier was a interesting add. The Philadelphia was a simple one but had a great cream cheese and slight Smokey flavor. Will try again. read more

We have come to this place more than a couple of times since we found it's existence in Sioux Falls. The restaurant is in a small strip mall so there is always parking available. It is in a nice part of town, and is conveniently located close to gas stations, a Walgreens, and a couple other places to eat (if your traveling and not everyone can agree). It is a bit off from the freeways maybe 1-2 miles however not extremely far that it wouldn't be worth your while. I really like that this is your one stop shop, they have Tasteas (boba's) there and a dessert menu that makes my family happy. I really enjoy their spicy tuna rolls and the sweet potatoes tempura. All food was served on clean white plates and the servers that we have encountered there have always been polite. Every time we have gone we have been served delicious food and my family has been content. The atmosphere is clean and quiet. They have a couple of televisions in the sitting area so you may watch sports or whatever else they might put on they volume is a decent level and is not distracting. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Found a piece of plastic in sushi. Server appeared under the influence and forgot what she was doing while doing it. She didn't know which table the food went to and walked around slowly with an appetizer asking each table if they ordered it, but she didn't know what it was. There were 2 tables total in the empty restaurant. The man making the sushi went between rolling fish and answering phone with the same gloves. When we walked in the staff was yelling at each other, making customers uncomfortable. Waited an hour and never received 2/4 rolls. Ended up leaving due to time and lack of trust in the quality of food. read more

The owner is very hardworking and when he is there everything runs smoothly. However staff is very young and still in training. When he leaves, things get a little lax and unprofessional. Swearing and goofing around can be seen/heard from the open kitchen. Ordered a salmon hibachi and it was not cooked all the way. Young chef told me that is how it is served and that if I wanted it well done I needed to specify. Never have I heard that I needed to specify doneness of fish before. He eventually put it back on the grill so I could feel ok feeding it to my toddler. We have been here before when the owner is here and never had issues. The food is quite good and well seasoned. I'm sorry but I need to do this. We waited an hour to get our food. Food was cold but I didn't want to send it back because the kids were hungry. Chicken was dry. The teriyaki sauce taste like medicine. I ordered the lobster and filet dinner. The lobster tasted like beef jerky and there was more shell on my plate then lobster. That plate was $30!!!! The seating was another issue. Whenever the person behind you moved you could fee everything! Trying to eat while someone is pushing on your back is so nauseating. This Restaurant needs help! I have eaten here both sit down a couple of times as well as ordered carry out and delivery. I have been pleasantly surprised with the taste of the food. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait especially at lunch however the food has been very good. My kids love their fried rice and a bunch of boxes are perfect introduction to some more unusual foods for them. I very much enjoy all of the specialty sushi rolls and think that everything taste very fresh. The service is sometimes sketchy and like a lot of other businesses they struggle to retain staff however I don't want this to deter you when the food is this good. read more

The only reason my rating is so lo is because the food isnt that good. This is a newer business in our neighborhood. While the service was a little slow, they were busy though and we weren't in a hurry. We ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer & a bottle of Riesling which came within a very reasonable amount of time and both were fantastic. For dinner we ordered Hamaci, a Godzilla Roll & Volcano Roll. All was fresh and delicious. The staff brought us a few other things to try while we were waiting as they realized the sushi rolls were taking longer than usual. We will be back. read more

Yummy hole in the wall restaurant with a large menu and assortment of drinks (yay bubble tea)! I would recommend it as something simple, you know what you're going to get, and authentic boba teas. Miso soup was amazing. I will need to try the sushi next time I go. If you're looking for some good food and drinks, would recommend. It also has a nice atmosphere and beautiful dishes. I go here all the time. The owner is always friendly and able to joke around. Ive never had a bad experience. It makes me sad to find that so many people get upset about how "slow" it is. The times ive gone it has only been the owner and maybe a waitress, and i think they do a fine job under the pressure. The sushi is always delicious, packed full of crab. There are no complaints from me. Its a cute little place i spend a lot of time. i study there and bring friends to enjoy food with as well. its a place you really have to appreciate. read more

I would not recommend as there are so many other great sushi places in Sioux Falls. One being only 5 mins away from this one. The sushi is always rushed and prepared poorly; especially if you order online. Sushi falls apart as you try to eat it and the chef is less than friendly. Thought we'd give this place a shot since it was new to the west side of town. We walked in and there were a few tables that were full and a couple people waiting for takeout and just one server -- and sign said "wait to be seated". What appeared to be owner finally told us to sit wherever after about 5 minutes of standing there. Once we were seated, there were already menus on the table which was nice because we waited another 5 minutes before the waitress came over with water. You could tell either it was her first job, or she didn't want to be there, I'm not sure which one or maybe both. We ordered our sodas and wanted an appetizer at the same time, but couldn't do that, too confusing for the waitress. Drinks only. Appetizer when she comes back! So we ordered the tuna tataki. We also got to order our meal, but that she had to go get the owner on because she had so many questions on it she didn't know the answers to because it was a "Dinner for 2" she didn't know if it came with soup, salad, and rice, veggies, etc - so she needed to go ask. - and YES, it comes with Everything. So we ordered the Valentines dinner for 2 (filet, shrimp, lobster tail). The owner brought out our appetizer- which was outstanding! Good taste, fresh, delish! Next came the soup and salad. Both were cold....Including the soup. Our meal came out about 30 minutes later. Our steaks were not prepared the way we wanted but the shrimp was done ok. The lobster was a little on the over cooked side. The waitress never came back to check on us. We did get a refill on our soda when my husband went to the counter and asked for a refill and then also asked do you have any yum yum sauce? The waitress said huh???? She the asked the owner and he went to the back and got some...so if you ask for it, they do have it! The nice touch was a fried egg on the plate! Overall, I think it was ok. I think forsure they're just short staffed like every one is right now. The tuna tataki was amazing! I don't think we'd get the dinner for 2 again, maybe just stick to sushi.
