This was a great random find! There was a French sandwich shop near my house (Le Petite Baguette) that closed years ago and this delightful shop fills the void! Whimsical decor and a friendly owner makes this a very welcoming place. Almost every customer was a regular. I had the Ficelle which was prosciutto, French butter, French Brie cheese, and marmalade. Simple, sweet, and salty. Was the perfect sandwich. I took home a Croque Monsieur for my wife which was ham, Gruyere, on grilled sourdough. Again, very simple but thanks to the high quality ingredients it was excellent. I sampled a few bites and loved it. It's street parking but there was plenty of space open. Inside had a few tables. Great place! I can't wait to return!

What a GOLD MINE! Just walking into this place is fun. Your eyes can't just focus on one single decoration. There is a fun amount of quirky items to see and read. THE FOOD: I ordered their Pastrami Sandwich. It was hot, fresh and juicy. The bread was perfectly toasted and the housemade sauerkraut was chefs kiss. Halfway into my Pastrami Sandwich I was red to order another different Sandwich to try out.l, but at that time a long line has formed. I'll be back.

Enjoyed this Pastrami sandwich in the car! Don't do it! It was messy, but delicious!

Neighborhood Sandwich shop that is super cute and amazing service! It seems like a family ran business. They have amazing sandwiches and cookies! I had this sandwich that was in a Chewy Pretzel Roll with some kind or marmalade, ham and cheese. It was quite tasty that I wanted a second! The turkey Waldorf was good, but I wish it didn't come in a croissant -it might do well on squaw, but still yummy! The 'CROQUE MONSIEUR which is a European Cured Thin Sliced Ham With Gruyere Cheese Melted On Golden Sourdough Toast. That you have to share because it's so big and so worth it! If you get lucky you'll find street parking right in front. Best sandwiches for when you're going to the beach a few blocks down or the park. I love this spot! It's literally homemade sandwiches, but better!!

Check-in: March 2026 - it's a whallopping yes all over again! The other day we were cruising on our bikes with destination Long Beach, Art Museum and we thought to ourselves we're hungry - we need to eat. We found our way to this special spot once again. I ordered the California vegetarian and my wife ordered the Capretzel. Both sandwiches were just super tasty healthy with the best dressing on them. Claudette is her usual charming self, sharing her personal experiences and friendly vibes. She's extremely experienced in both the kitchen and nature. I suggest engaging her in conversation. We ate our sandwiches on site because it's just such a charming environment. It's important to enjoy a shop like this and a person like this and a sandwich like this because life is short and things change. I would definitely bring an out-of-town guest to the shop.

Came back for another sandwich! This time I had pastrami and boy was it good. The Russian dressing was superb with just the right amount of spicyness. Service was great as always. Looking forward to trying another sandwich soon!

I never ever expected to give a sandwich shop a 5 star review - but I have never ever had a sandwich like the pastrami sandwich I had today. The sandwich alone is 5/5 stars. The woman behind the counter was very welcoming, she gives off great vibes. She was amazing and prepped my sandwich in the back. When she came out, the bag was piping hot! I was the only person when I got there, so I was in and out of the shop in less than 10 minutes. It's street parking but honestly it was easier than I thought to find parking. Now onto the sandwich. I am still in awe at how much good stuff was tucked between those two delicious slices of bread. Just an absolute abundance of pastrami! Very generous helpings of sauerkraut as well. The sauce was the perfect complement. Everything about it was next level delicious. To be honest, I don't order many sandwiches since I always feel like I can make good sandwiches at home. But this was 100% worth it. I will be coming back to try their other sandwiches as well. And I very genuinely have only said that about one other sandwich spot in my life!

Delightful little sandwich shop! I have been driving past this place forever but after someone recommended it I decided to give it a try. They have some French style prepared sandwiches all ready to go (baguette, cheese, prosciutto) and a nice looking pastry case. You can also order sandwiches from the kitchen. I decided on the turkey Waldorf, which was served on a beautiful croissant. The filling was a bit salty, but had a good blend of ingredients. I tried a cookie as well, which was solidly good but not mind blowing. The cafe itself has a fun vibe, a couple of very small tables, and a friendly staff.

Such a cute little place! If you're looking for a light lunch this is the perfect place to go. The owner was very nice and made our food very quickly, there's even little tables inside to eat at. I got the French Style Ficelle and it was very good, but I will say I was wishing I got the Pastrami Sandwich after I tried some of my boyfriends. We also got a Triple Sea Salt Cookie, which was very good but also a little bit big. Overall, it wasn't too expensive and it was very cute (their merch was also so cute too). I would go again for a quick lunch for sure!

Some of the freshest sandwiches in town! Quality is insane and so consistently delicious. The must tries are the veggie sandwich, add turkey. The prosciutto baguette sandwiches are always great. They remind me of the quality in Europe. Also all cookies/pastries are bomb, with some vegan options!

    French Style Ficelle

I heard a lot of buzz around this place from social media so I decided to give it a shot. I asked for the most popular sandwich they have and I got the French style ficelle. It was amazing, the combination of the Brie, prosciutto, and their house made orange marmalade was heaven. This paired with their cherry, walnut, and orange baguette made it easily one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I can't wait to go back to try everything else they have to offer. I can't recommend this place and the French style ficelle enough. 10/10

On the second trip for the actual birthday pie, I picked the salted caramel b/c the group is a chocolate crowd. Third time, just wanted pie! Also sampled the cutie pies in the jar... I don't think the mini pie made it home lol. Today (#4 visit) I was craving the raspberry dream and wanted to try the apple pie. My current ranking of pie I've tried is: 1. Raspberry dream, 2. salted caramel, 3. White chocolate raspberry (cutie pie), 4. marionberry (nicely tart, full of berries but a bit dry, went well with ice cream), 5. whiskey peach (too much crust, not enough peach, not very peachy). The shop has some seating but I only saw one group seated once. I always took my pies home to enjoy. There is plenty of street parking (metered, 15 min free), and here is a parking structure around the back of the block (2 hours free).

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

Located in the quaint Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, street parking was plentiful right outside the restaurant. We came around noon on Saturday, and thankfully despite their busy brunch rush we were seated immediately. Even though all of their seating is outdoors, tables are shaded by overhanging canopy and just added to the cute southern Italian bistro vibes of the place. The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!
