The place is really cute, but didn't really feel welcomed walking in here. I walked in and the employee said he'd be with me momentarily then few minutes later, he asked was I ready to order. I just ordered first thing that grabbed my eye. My disappointment wasn't the food but I just somewhat got the vibes of "order and get out already"...I figured maybe they wanted to close since it was 40 minutes before closing time. But as I was grabbing my roll, 2 people walked in together and the worker was VERY welcoming, asking them how they were doing and asked if they had been there before and when they said no, he went on to explain the menu and their options. Being a black man, safe to say I assume the worst about why there was a difference in hospitality. To those wondering about the next people who came in....Yes, they were.. Now I could definitely be reading too deeply into this. But considering current events, I'm playing it safe. If you're going to welcome all customers and explain the menu to them you should do that to ALL customers. I used to go to the Cinnaholic in Brea nearly a decade ago, and was heartbroken when it closed. I recently discovered that there's a Cinnaholic in Long Beach and have been twice. Both times were excellent! It's a counter service bakery with a large variety of FULLY VEGAN pastries. The cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, etc - you name it, it's vegan here. My boyfriend and I first ordered the Cookie Monster cinnamon roll and it you want to satisfy every sweet craving under the sun, absolutely order this. It was delicious, but have a cup of milk or water nearby since you'll be thirsty from the influx of sugar right after eating it. We went late at night close to closing on the second occasion, and the cashier was very friendly and let us know that fresh cinnamon rolls are baking and the wait might be about 15 minutes. We were delighted by this and were glad to wait. We ordered a cinnamon roll with cake batter frosting, berries, and jam. It was phenomenal and the frosting had completely covered the roll due to being warm and fresh out of the oven. If you're vegan (or anyone with a propensity for sweet treats!), please do yourself a favor and visit this bakery! Located on 2nd st. There is street parking but just be careful with the signs. I got the built my own cinnamon roll. I went with peanut butter frosting, bananas, strawberry jam, graham crackers, and marshmallows. The base roll was warm, soft, and fluffy, and the peanut butter frosting was rich without being too heavy. The bananas and strawberry jam gave it that PB&J vibe, and the graham crackers and marshmallows added a nice little s'mores twist with some crunch and sweetness. I usually have a five start experience but a few days ago , it wasn't all that... staff opened up a tad late. Not a problem. But they decided to unlock the door and not signal it to me while seeing me just stand outside the door still waiting. The staff was on a phone call, I'm assuming taking another order. His attitude was just not good and didn't seem to value me as the first customer of the day. He also decided to bag my cinnamon roll but told me I could bag my own cookie . It's clean with a few cute wall posters. My order for a regular cinnamon roll & one with banana cream frosting topped with blueberries! I should added strawberries it it was a good pairing. It was much too sweet for my taste but it was definitely best eaten n while still freshly made, warm & fluffy, moist. We were really grateful they happen to be doing their deep cleaning and left their doors open. They were willing to bake whatever we wanted. We just had to wait 15 minutes. I was grateful to have whatever they had on the counter. We parked right next to this building so afterwards I noticed as seen on Shark Tank sticker on their window. Cinnaholic is one of my VERY favorite sweet treat places. I hadn't been to Belmont Shores in awhile and boy was I HAPPY to see they have a location 10 steps from where we parked. It was fate!!!! My husband and I shared a blueberry lemon coffeecake and a snickerdoodle before we even walked out. The snickerdoodle is the BEST dang snickerdoodle I've ever eaten. Hands down!!!! Delicious cinnamon rolls. We were walking around 2nd Street and the kids decided they wanted some dessert so we tried this place out. The staff was very friendly and asked it we had been there before and proceeded to explain how it works. You can get a regular cinnamon roll or you can get special toppings and frostings and they are vegan. We got an OG and and OG with added cookie dough. We really enjoyed them, I would recommend warming them up. I was worried they wouldn't be as good since they were vegan (no butter in a cinnamon roll?!) but it was not lacking in flavor. Drove by and saw cinnamon rolls so I pulled over since there was a parking hastle free. It was on a Sunday around lunch time and I was the only one in there as I came in. A couple more came in after me. There were several different options but I went for the original 4 pack which was $24 flat. Taxes included it seems. I asked for extra cream the girl smiled and said ok. No extra charge. Went home and opened it. The cream was all over the place. She didnt skimp and wasnt messing around. It was everywhere in the box in a good way. Popped it in the microwave for 25 secs to warm them up. Who doesnt like a hot / warm roll? I'm going to compare this with Cinnabon because thats my favorite and staple of Cinnamon Rolls IMO. The cream is smooth and light not as thick as Cinnabon and not as sweet either. Not being too sweet is a good thing but wish it were thicker. The roll itself has a little chew not as chewy as Cinnabon . The roll is more fluffy and light with a hint of saltyness which makes it different and unique. Overall very good roll but they skimp on the cinnamon which is a big no no. Its called a cinnamon roll then why would anyone make it with barely any cinnamon? IF it had more cinnamon it would be much better. IF and only IF it had more cinnamon.....it maybe or it might rival Cinnabon even. I would say its worth a try. Hope they stop skimping on the cinnamon tho. It has so much potential. read more

I NEVER leave reviews but I just had to write this one because this morning was unbelievably bad customer service. I don't know the girls name because she never gave us a receipt so we didn't have it but she was incredibly rude right when we first started ordering. I came in with my mom to order some cinnamon rolls & right away after figuring out what we wanted she was shaking her head and rolling her eyes. I don't mind confronting someone giving me attitude for no reason so I asked if she was good & she stayed silent and shook her head yes. She then shook her head at the person ordering after me & while making our rolls she was slamming things and being very overdramatic with her movements. I get it, I work in the food industry at a high volume restaurant, so I get having to serve a lot of people and being stressed from a long day BUT it wasn't even busy and I was probably the first customer that came in today right after they opened so I don't understand where the attitude was coming from? My friends and I had been walking around the area in search of dessert. The menu at Cinnaholic featured a variety of cinnamon rolls, edible cookie dough, and Dole pineapple soft serve. I also saw baked goods such as brownies, cookies, and banana bread. I had some of my bf's Old Skool cinnamon roll ($6.50), which was good. I enjoyed it better than your typical mall chain and storebought brand. The bread was slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was topped with a runny vanilla icing that was not super sweet. I appreciated that it was assembled to order, so it tasted fresh. The website says that all their products are vegan, dairy-free, and egg-free, which I could not tell at the time. The employee there was really nice! He checked up on us sitting outside in front of the shop. I used to love coming here. Now it feels like something has changed in the business. A hot sticky cinnamon roll is the kind of thing you want to sit and dig into right away while it's fresh. But they went from having several tables, to only two tables outside, and now no tables at all. So your only choice is to take it to go and eat it when it's less fresh. It's sort of like they don't want you there because why would they not give you a place to eat the hot food they just sold you? You have to really go through an ordeal just to find a parking spot on or around 2nd Street so it's not simple to just pop in casually, and then you have to just grab and go. I was last here on a Sunday when they would be at their busiest. The roll also seemed stale. Prices are really high here. So it's disappointing to see the quality go down. It's unfortunate that these choices are being made at a time when they no longer have a line like in the past, the shop is dead whenever I walk in. Having a less inviting atmosphere and a diminished product probably won't increase sales. I probably won't come back. It's just so much money and hassle to have to deal with parking and then take my roll home to eat when it's cold and the frosting is melted in the box. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE A NUT ALLERGY!! They will tell you it is safe, but I am speaking from personal experience when I say it is not---the nut contamination can KILL YOU if your reaction is severe enough!! I am a nurse with a severe allergy to nuts, and my coworker is as well. We walked into this location in search of a sweet treat and asked the man working behind the counter twice, do the items we want have any nuts in them because we both are severely allergic. The man answered twice, "NO!" However, we could tell that he was distracted because he was speaking to someone on a personal call through his air pod while checking us out. I took one bite of the regular cinnamon roll and immediately began going into anaphylaxis. I reacted quickly by taking my EPINEPHRINE, BENADRYL, PEPCID, AND MY INHALERS; which are all meds to keep my airway open, while my coworker just required benadryl immediately after. We purchased two completely different items and both of us had allergic reactions. At a later time I spoke with the manager Eric who was incredibly dismissive, unapologetic, and unfriendly. He said, "I don't see how that would be possible." Even though I explained that there were many opportunities for cross contamination if staff isn't careful; he just remained dismissive. What concerns me the most, is that this could've killed me or my coworker and I wish the manager had taken our concerns more seriously and had some empathy, and a plan moving forward for how to prevent this in the future. I DO NOT WISH FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER UNSUSPECTING PERSON OF CHILD SO PLEASE CONSUME AT YOUR OWN RISK! As an ER nurse I have both personally experienced and witnessed the detrimental and terrifying effects of severe allergic reactions and I just want everyone to be informed and safe. read more
