A family member wanted a good cleaning of their gas grill so I decided to give it to them as a gift. After doing some research on the various companies out there I decided to go with SD BBQ Cleaners plus it didn't hurt they had a promotion going on for $50 off so took advantage of it. Scheduled the appointment online, which was very easy to do, and received a call from the company a week before our appointment letting us know they had a cancellation and if we wanted, they could come out that day. Fortunately, we were available. Hugo arrived promptly and took a look at the grill. Set up a large cloth/tarp on the back patio and moved the BBQ on top of it. I appreciated that extra step because who knows what could have gotten on the patio during the cleaning. He was very through in his cleaning, inside and out of the grill. Grill looks close to brand new again and we were very pleased with the services offered by SD BBQ Cleaners and services rendered by Hugo. The man knows what he's doing. Ok, a story with a happy resolve. Our grill in our beautiful leased Carlsbad home looked perfect. A Viking range with a side burner....what could be better? Can't wait to grill all summer. But.... During my scheduling phone call, I was excited hearing that San Diego BBQ technician Justin would be handling my service appointment. A few years previously I had heard that Justin was perhaps their best technician. Justin arrived on time for service call. I respect that San Diego BBQ provides technicians with trucks fully outfitted with specialized cleaning equipment. Justin disassembled BBQ and moved key pieces to truck for cleaning. As you can see in photo, a tarp is laid behind truck. I really appreciate this simple solution such that myself and neighbors are not left with a mess when service is complete. Please understand this is not just "spray and wipe" cleaning. This full-service cleaning involves power tools and brushes which restores metal to new condition. Blake Brown with SDBBQC just left my home and I'm 100% satisfied! I didn't give him an easy task, Traeger 1300 Timberline that hasn't been taken apart in years with a minimum of 4 cooks/month for the last 5 years. I've maintained the consistent shop vac, grease trap maintenance between every cook. But I wasn't polishing the inside of my barrel, taking apart the fire box and vacuuming underneath the metal that is screwed in the barrel and consistently degreasing my grates. Years of smoke, ash, debris and pellet dust, Blake took it on with a smile and enthusiasm that's honestly really rare in this day and age. Blake made the inside of my Traeger look brand spanking new. What would have taken me an entire day if not days, I get a call from Blake a few hours later and I can't even tell where the mess is that he made because he rolled up his tarp and tools and tool bag and was on his way! I had SD BBQ out to my house to clean my 6 burner Weber Genesis II grill and WOW! Matt did an incredible job getting this thing as close to new as possible. My grill was over 6 years old and I had cleaned it a few times on my own over the years, but didn't have the time to do it now so I called SD BBQ to come do it professionally and what a difference it made! The inside looks basically brand new and most importantly, it functions as good as new. No flare ups anymore and a perfectly smooth grill surface. Can't say enough good things about SD BBQ! I went to a different BBQ store and was talked out of buying a new built-in BBQ since it sounded like mine could just be cleaned. The two names of cleaning companies they gave me were both too busy to help me in time for a party 2 weeks away. One of them referred me to SD BBQ. When I called and told Blake about the party, he squeezed me in for a cleaning 3 days prior. Rafael came out to clean and we determined that the grill was over 20 years old had too many problems to make fixing it worth it. We got Blake on the phone and figured out what would work to replace the existing grill and how to get it done before the party. Andrew and Eddy came out the next day to install a brand new grill, haul away the old one AND took a rusty outdoor refrigerator away. Hugo is the man, very friendly, professional, and hard-working. He spent a couple of hours cleaning our one and a half year-old Bull barbecue, which has seen a lot of use and was quite grimy and filthy. Yesterday we had Kenny of SDBBQ service our Weber Genesis (3 burner) after 2 years of me casually cleaning it myself. Wow! My 5 year old Weber looks as close to new as it possibly can. These guys are amazing. I've been using San Diego BBQ for years for repairs and cleaning. I had them do their annual service a couple months ago. Afterward, I noticed some parts of the grill weren't heating quite right. I called them up and asked if they could come out and see what's going on. They came within 3 hours, took it apart and corrected the problem. No charge. Blake came out to clean my grill and spent quite a few hours thoroughly scrubbing it in the extreme heat today; taking it apart to deep clean the grill walls, the burners and the grill plates. As I am a novice griller, he explained the parts of the grill and how to use it more efficiently, and how to properly maintain it so it will last longer. I was recommended to contact San Diego BBQ by the seller of our new home. We just bought a place that had a 36 inch built-in barbecue grill that was used and abused on a daily basis for who knows how long. It definitely needed some love and the process to schedule to have someone come out to do a full cleanup and diagnostics was super simple. Couple weeks later (super busy season) we got a text reminder of the appointment with technician ETA. Matt was our technician and he was super friendly and professional. He talked though his cleaning and diagnostics process to set expectations. He got to work immediately following and spent a couple hours vacuuming, grinding, and wiping. Troubleshoot our burners and ignition system (old but fine). Got a call from the owner, Blake, who explained what the technician was seeing and would send recommendations on replacement parts we may want to consider for the future but everything was working fine at the moment. Matt finished up showing me his work. He gave me some pointers/advice on what to do on the regular to upkeep and also typical points of failure when we may need to consider bigger service jobs and/replacement parts. I really appreciate businesses that do the right thing. A few weeks ago two technicians came to our house to clean our built-in BBQ and Traeger (no small feat) and did a superb job. Both looked like new afterwards! A few days later I noticed little splatters of grease on the side of our house, hose reel and sidewalk and realized that was a side effect of cleaning the Traeger in the side yard.
