Later, the owner Andy (aka AJ) helped me find a used 22R engine for my 1982 Toyota Sunrader RV, and later, a hood. Both those were located in LA. Then after I bought the motor, Andy bought my no good 22R engine that his neighbor took out. My hood got all rusted out from being exposed to the ocean dew for only a year. Andy looked up something for me on ChatGPT, which I at that time last year, never heard of. Now I can thank Andy for introducing me to ChaptGPT, because I chat with Chat every single day. Andy also introduced me to a "really cheap, REALLY cheap!" (those are Andy's exact words) mechanic across the street that put in the used 22R motor I bought for $850 labor. As a mobile mechanic, Eric is absolutely fantastic. My check engine light came on and I found Eric here on Yelp. He went above and beyond to help me and make sure my car was taken care of. He drove over an hour to come check out my car and diagnosed it right there. It ended up being a transmission problem and Eric pinpointed the problem and was so knowledgeable and knew exactly what the issue was. He then spent the ENTIRE day tracking down the part I needed only to find it in ONE place and have to order it and out of his control, not be able to fix it that day. The day the part came in, he messaged me right away and was so communicative and said he would pick up the part in the morning and come fix my car. He didnt even waste his time and got right into working on it and my favorite part was, he is so passionate and extremely knowledgable about what he does. He is so communicative and I love that he builds that trust with his clients. Everything about him is genuine. He was able to explain to me in layman terms, and as someone who knows nothing about cars, by the time he was done explaining I felt like an expert in transmissions. Very efficient, thorough and talented and he got my car fixed in 4 hours and now my car drives like new. I am so impressed and sooo happy I found him! After a Google of "bent wheel repair" I got several places and simply began calling the closest to me. I had to provide pictures of the damaged wheel so I removed the wheel and took several pics. After providing pics with details to several local wheel repair shops I was quoted a high of $450 and low of $200. AFW was actually recommended by a guy I called, because he only repaired wheel rash, not bent wheels. On AFW's website, I scheduled an appointment and though I did get an email confirmation, I called the morning of the appointment to confirm if they have a pickup service and if I can drive in or have to bring in the wheel. No pickup service. I only had a slow leak, so I was able to drive in and they removed the wheel for repair. Everyone I spoke with there is very friendly, answering all my questions concisely. The shop can be a little difficult to find as their main entrance is on the side, not visible from the street. It's a much larger shop than I expected with hundreds of wheels neatly stacked on shelves. There's a small lobby and waiting room, but after being told approximately how long it would take, I took a walk down the street to the Omelette Factory Santee. BTW, good food and super friendly staff AFW kept me informed of everything, from the time they started on my wheel, their assessment, an estimate and how long the repair will take. Approx 2-hours for my wheel damage. In short, American Wheel Factory is professional and absolute experts at their craft. My wheel is good as new and they were the least expensive. My wheels and tires had been installed just two days earlier, and I specifically paid extra for those lug nuts, so it was frustrating to see them damaged almost immediately. The suspension work appears to have been done well, but I wish more care had been taken to protect the wheels and hardware during the process.
