We went back out to search, but deep down I knew the waves had probably taken them. I think I was still in shock because it didn't really hit me until I got back to my room and had to call my fiancé while crying my eyes out. Ugh. I was so determined to find his ring, that I was willing to turn the car around at Barstow, drive all the way back to Laguna Beach and dig in the sand in the dark! I could not accept the fact that his wedding ring would be found by someone one else, and any other replacement ring would not/could not be the same. We called up Rick, and after describing where we had lost the ring specifically, and how it had been lost; he said he was willing to go down to the beach for us. We trusted that if anyone could help us, he could. So with that, we carried on with our drive towards our home in Las Vegas. About an hour later we got a call from Rick saying he had my husband's ring!! My husband was SO relieved that he said if he could kiss him through the phone - he would! Haha!! We received the ring very well packaged, insured, and quickly delivered the day after we gave our address. It's still unbelievable. Stressed out and sad I returned to when it was low tide. With rocks and sand abundant I searched for a while but was kinda hopeless.
