Halfway to Las Vegas on a Sunday night, kids asleep in the back of the car, and my husband realizes he's lost his wedding ring - and lost it in the sand of a public beach, of all places. Ugh. I was so determined to find his ring, that I was willing to turn the car around at Barstow, drive all the way back to Laguna Beach and dig in the sand in the dark! I could not accept the fact that his wedding ring would be found by someone one else, and any other replacement ring would not/could not be the same. We called up Rick, and after describing where we had lost the ring specifically, and how it had been lost; he said he was willing to go down to the beach for us. We trusted that if anyone could help us, he could. So with that, we carried on with our drive towards our home in Las Vegas. About an hour later we got a call from Rick saying he had my husband's ring!! My husband was SO relieved that he said if he could kiss him through the phone - he would! Haha!! We received the ring very well packaged, insured, and quickly delivered the day after we gave our address. It's still unbelievable. I always try to do the right thing, be the better person, live a Karma inspired life. But when someone shows you a similar kindness, especially when you think all hope is lost - it can just take your breath away. My husband paid Rick back for the shipping, and added a reward. Was enjoying the waves with my daughter teaching her to ride a boggle board at Doheny beach and my wedding ring slipped off my finger into the rocks below. Stressed out and sad I returned to when it was low tide. With rocks and sand abundant I searched for a while but was kinda hopeless. Ran into Rick while he was sweeping the beach with his detector had a great talk and he said he would keep an eye out. Gave me hope but seemed daunting with all the rocks and the tides. I can't thank Rick enough! I took off my wedding rings at the beach to sunscreen my daughter and subsequently lost them in the sand. I noticed them missing late that night and returned to the beach the next morning to search. The sand was soft and rings nowhere in sight. I figured they were lost forever and left the city to attend a family event. After an online search later that day, I initially contacted a friend of Rick's, but he was unavailable and gave me Rick's number. Rick offered to go to the beach immediately, although I was already in another city and it was a good 30+ minutes from his home. My pendant decided to depart from me, landing in the sands of Huntington beach, after a round of Frisbee. After losing my pendant and having my friends attempt to sift through the area to find it... I thought it would be gone forever. The following day, I gave Rick a call after finding him on yelp as I looked for metal detectors in Huntington Beach. He quickly answered and asked if I could meet him at the beach on the same day, although night was settling in quickly. Arriving at the beach at 8:20pm, with bonfires slowly going out, and with only a few clues as to where I could find my pendant... we started searching after he set up a perimeter as to where my pendant could be buried in. With his handy beach comber, a friend of mine and I started on a small strip as advised and found it combing just a few yards! It was the fastest find ever -- to think that I would have my family heirloom in my hands again felt so wonderful! Saved our day! My brother was playing volleyball at Newport beach in the evening and suddenly his ring came off and fell into the sand. Imagine finding a tiny ring in kilograms of sand. It was a beautiful day at Newport beach with the family. We were wrapping it up and closing up our day tent when afterward my husband remembered his ring was in a pocket in the tent. My wife realized after returning from Newport Beach, that she had lost her weeding ring, i jumped on the internet to buy a metal detector. thats when i saw ricks website.
