The food was fine. We split steak nachos and added a small dollop of guac ($1.50 extra) We found the restaurant fairly empty in the Sunday night we dined. Three employees were sitting in the chairs at the front door. We were seated non enthusiastically which matched the welcome we received. The individual bowls for salsa were nice. The nachos were fine. Pico, sour cream and the guac were all extra charges. The guac was tasty though! It didn't give off a warm, friendly vibe and we just didn't find it tidy for all the employees they had. read more

While in town at Marshall's we were recommended this place by the cashier. I guess I am spoiled being from Los Angeles which has great Mexican food, but this food was super bland. I had the taco salad with shrimp, chicken and steak. It was so so, no seasoning and nothing special. My daughter said her cheese enchilada tasted like melted Kraft cheese, and didn't even finish it. She said the blackberry margarita was decent, but didn't finish it either. Chips had a bit of an old oil taste. Salsa seemed like straight out of the pace picante jar. I will say Julio our waiter gets 5 stars! He checked on us often and was very nice. Cashier was also nice. Have to say unfortunately we will not be back though. Plenty of parking. read more

The waiter took a while to take our orders and the food took well over 30 minutes to get to us. Mind you, the place was practically empty. A Mixed Bag - But Mostly Good The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime today (Sunday), but our server was attentive to our table. He made sure the chips and salsa (both very good) were always filled and served our food and drinks quickly and efficiently. The Shrimp Fajitas, Enchiladas and Chimichangas were all up to par. The Huevos Rancheros were not. The eggs were cooked like an omelet - and extremely dry and tasteless - even though they were smothered in a Mole Sauce. I'm not sure what the other items (sauces?) on the plate were, but they were not good. We will definitely be back, but no more Huevos Rancheros for us. read more

Went here for dinner this past Wednesday night and the food was delicious! I had a steak chimichanga and wife had flautas. The Chimichanga was smaller then I am used too, but was delicious. The rice and beans was very good too, I like that unlike many Mexican restaurants do, this place does not put any vegetables like carrot pieces in the rice. My wife had flautas and other places I have had flautas at, I never liked them, the flautas here are excellent. Go here if you get the chance! read more

Food is always good. Never an issue Not sure what changed, but the wait staff seemed bent on getting everyone in and out in a hurry. Asking for a drink order before sitting down. And ask what we wanted for dinner literally 30 seconds after getting our menus. Then no return by our waitress asking for drink refills. And it seemed to be all wait staff. We were there last week and all seemed good. Even when I asked to substitute veggies for rice. There was a problem. We will try them again and see if it changes back. Hope so. My friend and I just ate at San Felipe . The experience was not good. The food was bland and unappetizing. The waiter was helpful and courteous... I think... I COULD NOT understand anything he said. I ordered steak fajitas. The old cow whose carcass was on my plate must have come over on The Mayflower . The tacos smelled like old dirty socks. This place ranks way down on the totem pole. The one positive was they had recently updated the interior, and it looked much better. My friend who also ate here with Me was pleased with his selections. Came here while visiting my grandparents in NC. I'm from NYC so I may be a harsh critic because there's no shortage of great Mexican cuisine in the city, but the food here is average. I ordered a burrito and I definitely received an enchilada. If I did get what I asked for, they are very confused about what a burrito is. It was tasty enough none the less. Highlights were the chips (fresh-made in house) and the chicken noodle soup... OMG. I loooove Mexican (or any kind of Hispanic) chicken soup and theirs was really delicious, hearty and fresh. I see this place has a 3 star review and I agree. The margaritas are just so so. They are very weak, not worth the price. I have been here 3 times over a year or so. There is just something off a our the food. Overall the food is kind is under seasoned for spice, but extremely salty. The food seems a bit soggy, bland and not fresh. I really wanted to like this place because it is neat inside and the staff is friendly. A bit slow, but friendly. Also, tortilla chips are not very salted and the salsa is watery. This place is LEGIT, especially given that it's plopped in the middle of a strip mall. The main entrees were outstanding, both in terms of flavor and portion size. The dining area is clean and nicely decorated. The only disappointment during our dining experience was the guacamole, which tasted a bit pre-packaged. Just visited San Felipe. Food is not near as good as San Jose. Service was terrible. 3 of 8 plates were brought to the table, no eating utensils, we asked for them 3 times. We had to ask 3 times for the sour cream and pico that was ordered. Asked for a spoon for a child and was brought a large serving spoon. We had to ask for tea refills repeatedly. We're passing through town for one night and found this great little restaurant in a strip mall near Home Depot off the main drag. We were surprised at the great service, wide selection on the menu. and quality of the food. We had mixed fajita (chicken and beef) - delicious and juicy with sweet pepper. Carne Asada was nicely grilled with plenty of rice, beans, avocados and extra lime. We upgraded the margaritas by asking for Patron instead of the default "Pancho Villa" tequila for $6.50. (Although we were a little surprised at the St. Patrick's Day Green of the drink!) read more

Food was good, so if you are looking for a place with good Mexican food, this is your place. When you sit down they give you chips and salsa which is a good starter. Looking at the menu, prices were reasonable. I went with the super feline enchiladas while others in my party order fajitas. After ordering, the chips kept coming promptly from the server as well as refills on our beverages. All was going well until we were informed that a big party ordered right before us so our food was going to be slightly delayed. This inconvenience only added a few minutes to the wait. Only complaint was the food came in waves and I was finished with my dish before some of my party got their food, but in their defense, I am a fast eater. This is the perfect place for people who want bland, non-authentic, americanized Mexican Food. We walked in and the host didnt greet us or say hello just: "Two for dinner?" He took us over to a booth and said "Here you go." Bland salsa and chips came quickly and tasted better once lime juice, salt and black pepper were added. My wife ordered the Burrito combo. The menu said one beef and one chicken burrito not one ground beef and chicken burrito which she received. I ordered the Arachera Burrito which the menu stated contained lettuce and "our special cheese blend". My burritto came with no lettuce and was filled with an insipid, sweet nacho cheese sauce (not a blend of cheeses) that just absolutely killed what little bit of flank steak was actually inside the burrito. You want to taste the steak you paid for! The waiter was diligent and checked on us frequently but we won't be back. read more
