The from office staff are incredibly rude. They assigned us a spot that was too small for our rig and told us it wasn't their problem. Eventually after 40 mins we fit it in there...barely. Cat and Debbie are terrible at their jobs. They have no class and should be fired. We did love our spot, we got a premium view of the ocean. The bathrooms were clean and the jacuzzi was nice to relax in. Yes the spots are tight but it's San Francisco. read more

RV stalls are very skinny. Not enough room for a slideout and an awning. The RVs face each other, so your door opens right into a stranger's door. The facility bathrooms and showers are filthy and not maintained, and the pool was broken. They came around shining a flashlight into our vehicles after 10pm, and the "security guard" made up new rules to go along with their already lengthy list about who can sleep where. My teenager preferred to sleep in the canopy covered truck on an air mattress, but that suddenly wasn't "allowed" halfway into our stay, even though he wasn't making any noise and she had to violate our privacy to even see him. But other people's young children were allowed to run around screaming until well after 10pm. Will definitely not stay here again. San Francisco was great, but this park really dragged the trip down. read more

Great location for sightseeing in SF for a couple of days but not much more. Parking lot with a quick turnover of a few days by most. Full time residents are noticeable as their rigs are visibly run down. Stay away from the older rude guy who works there. Customer service doesn't need to exist if they are booked all the time. Don't worry too much about etiquette, most campers are from other countries and have no problem walking through your space or understand quiet time. read more

Great location if you are visiting San Francisco!Car rental 5 min walking distance,About 15-20 if that from fishermans wharf and pier 39,staff was very friendly and office,laundry rooms and store were kept clean.Spaces are really close together but we were there to see San Francisco so we were out and about most of the days and came back to sleep so we didn't mind it to much,most of the non hook up sites were closed due to cliff erosion so that was a bummer not looking out into the ocean off the cliff edge but great for safety I guess lol,overall happy with the stay and will come back. read more

If you enjoy camping in a parking lot with the neighboring rv two feet away from yours, you'll love this place. You literally just have a parking spot. You're on a cliff that's eroding and there's no beach access. Also the back rows are packed with rusted out trailers that house permanent residents. I was afraid to leave anything outside of our RV because it may have walked away. The only thing that's kinda cool is there are whales constantly in the ocean in clear view. But no thanks. I have stayed here twice, once uneventfully back in 2011, and once very eventfully in 2018. We started by trying to fill out their monthly rate form, but got no response. My wife called, and they told her only weekly spots were available, so we went with four weeks. Upon arrival, they asked for the full month's payment. We politely stated that with a weekly rate, we would pay weekly. They proceeded to incessantly send us monthly bills. My wife went in to the office to pay in person and straighten it out. It took 35 minutes and two employees. Then, two days later, I get a call saying our camper is in a space with delinquent rent. I explain that, no, it must be error. Two days later, my wife and I get a far uglier call about the same issue, demanding that we show up in the office at 8 AM with a receipt. When we insisted it was their error, she called us "Crackers", and demanded that we clear out before she hung up. She did this at 5:00 PM so we only got voicemail on callback. Moved my camper away from this demented weirdo, and will dispute the credit card charges. First time in my life I will file a complaint with the BBB. BTW, lovely beach erosion is gradually eliminating spaces. Unbelievable deterioration in seven years. Very attractive temporary construction fences between you and the ocean. They cannot fall in soon enough. read more

We stayed here for 3 months while my husband was in UCSF and they were great! Stayed again last month and it is a great place to stay. Clean large showers and restrooms, on the cliffs of the ocean with walking trails. Lots of nice RV'ers staying there and easy drive to San Francisco and shopping centers. read more

We arrive to this very expensive RV site to small RV parking spots have no room for a car on sight, barely open the slides, The beach walk this washed away no access to the beach, no onsite Wi-Fi only in the laundry, hot tub didn't work, pool cold. This is perfect for people who are traveling to San Francisco and need a place to park their RV. I would not necessarily recommend it for people who live in the bay area and need a fun place to stay........I think if I had an ocean view, I would have felt much differently about my stay. We were facing other rv's and there is a lot of noise from the freeway. The people working there are very nice and helpful. I did inquire about reserving an ocean view spot when we arrived without any definitive information on how to do that. We were assigned our rv spot between all the other rv's.......There is an unattractive chain link fence protecting people from cliff erosion so even when you walk out to look at the ocean it has that ugly fence. I wish they could improve that with something better looking like a clear glass fence. They do have a hot tub and the place is clean. I was hoping for a fun destination nearby to go to specifically with our rv. read more

Got there a little early and the staff was pissy, they did'nt want me to wait anywhere on the lot. Came back on time got the site ready and the sites are so tight, couldnt even open my awning. Tried to play some music and got told i couldnt play "ampified" music. When nightfall came had the fire going and no one was out. Real boring place to be. We stayed here for 3 nights in our rented RV while we explored San Fran. I had read other reviews about it just being a large carpark with small spaces but we were very happy with our ocean view spot. Our 31ft RV with two slide outs fitted in fine. It was lovely to sit back and watch the sun go down over the ocean (we are from Sydney so we normally see the sun come up over the ocean). We chose not to drive into San Fran each day but drove our RV to the BART (Rail Station) and parked there for the day. It cost $2 per spot and we needed 5 spots as you could only park side ways. There were no signs to say free parking on the weekends until we got onto the rail platform and had already paid. So watch for that. Cost $6.60 return each to catch the train. It's about a 20min trip. Very easy. The RV staff were very friendly and helpful explaining what to see and do in San Fran. I booked it all online from Australia before we left and were very happy with the park. I did use the laundry while there. They had many washers and dryers and were a good price. All clean and tidy. Didn't use the pool or the bathrooms so can't comment on those. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again. read more

This is the worst place ever! Promised great view, access to beach, pool and playground. Everything is fenced off so it can not be accessed. Cannot get to the beach because off construction fencing due to beach erosion. Walk around the park and all you smell is sewer. Apparently people live here as most spaces are junked up with crap. The place is dirty. Sewer, water & electrical hookups are dated. We definitely will not use restrooms here. Small spaces are pricey. Website needs updating with the truth about how nasty this place is. Definitely false advertising. Needs a zero star rating. read more

This RV park is a little off the freeway, unlike many other parks I've stayed at, so there's not a lot of traffic noise and you can really hear those ocean waves, but they are dang expensive! Laundry was expensive and wifi is extra, but they do give a 10% AAA discount so that's nice. They don't have beach access, and it's actually quite a trek to get down to the water. However, what I like most about this park is its close proximity to the city. It's about a 15 minute drive to San Fran but feels closer because you can see the city 10 minutes before you actually get to it, and they're 0.3 miles away from an enterprise if you don't tow a car behind your rig. There's also a great little Italian restaurant, Paisano's, that delivers to the park, and a Starbucks and some other restaurants nearby too-everything we needed in our home away from home! We would absolutely stay here again if we're ever in the area, just know they are pricey for basically a parking space in a cement lot with no beach access. read more

We have gone to this RV spot for 5 years since being an owner and recommended it to many of our pals who come up and visit us in SF. We returned from burning man with our RV, cleaned up, and needing to use the flushing tanks and get propane as the final thing to do to recover from the trip, like we usually do. Yet this time a girl proclaimed that OUR RV was too old and was not of the caliber they want there, even just to service. We explained how we have done this here for years and the girl said the owner gave strict instructions to turn away older RV's. Our 1982 Lindy is a good vintage girl and we take care of her. My guy is a Chief Medical Officer and I am stylist/designer. Are we just too low class with the 7 years of college I have and his medical degree? Now we understand how discrimination works first hand with this place. So if your not "of their liking" they can and will refuse you entrance. Go elsewhere and let these small minded people cling to one another. Just horrible. Nothing like showing poor customer relations to past clients. read more

All in all, this was an adequate location for a few days stay. Three stars at best, comparing it to true 'resorts', which this isn't. Its an old-styled trailer park that is in an Excellent location. It all comes down to the old adage, "location location location". Because of its proximity to San Francisco (really, its located in Pacifica, a bedroom coastal community to San Francisco), nearby grocery, pharmacy, hardware, etc, and an up close ocean view, and pool, spa and on-site store, it rates the three stars. But compared to true 'resorts' it is closer to a two star. The RV park is essentially an asphalt parking lot--and the spaces are very close together. The neighbor on our door side had a rug outside their door--which left no room at all for us to get into our rig without walking on their rug. The spaces are about 4 ft apart, door to door. I couldn't get my computer to work using their WiFi, which is free, but if the signal isn't strong enough for the computer, who cares? Our space was in the pull-throughs on the north side, not all that far from the office either. However, I was able to use my computer in the office, at least. The staff were quite friendly and courteous, free coffee in the office, facilities were clean, water, electricical and sewer all worked fine. We had no problem driving to the Colma BART station and taking BART into San Francisco--far preferred than driving into and trying to find parking in San Francisco itself. Or alternatively we could have walked a short distance and taken the bus in. For a 'home base' RV park, it was adequate--a resort it is not. If what you are looking for is a place to hang out at, relax, sit around and enjoy the scenery, get to know other RVers, etc, this isn't the place. But if you want a place to park your rig close to The City and along the coast, using it as a pit stop at night and a home base for day-trips, this was fine. Criticism---office hours way too short--only from 8 to 5--then office and game rooms were closed up tight. People out and about may well need assistance after returning to their rig from a day trip. I have to agree with a previous reviewer about the steep grade coming off Hwy 1 onto Mason/Palmetto--if there had been a stop sign at the end of the grade, we would have run right over it---I wouldn't have been able to brake enough to stop the rig in time. GEAR DOWN TO FIRST GEAR long before you need to, would be my recommendation! We DID have a good visit while staying at this RV park, but had I expected a first class 'resort' in such a beautiful locale, I would be disappointed. My suggestion to the park management----take out a few spaces and re-line, giving everyone more room---add more of the grassy strips between spaces--you already have a few--add more, giving each space a place to put a couple of chairs or a small table outside their rig. Beef up or change your WiFi so people can access it at their rigs. If you are going to have long-termers, then separate them more fully from the short termers. Office hours are wayyyyy too short---8 to 5 isn't adequate--especially if people are out and about during the day and get back to their rig after 5 pm. Game room, office, everything was locked up tight. Need much more flexible hours, perhaps 8 am to 8 pm. read more

Where do I begin? well it's definitely not like the pictures portray. Parking lot comes to mind. no access to the beautiful beach in the photos. Bathrooms and showers moldy. The kids play area is also an bird sanctuary (if cryptocooccosis means anything to you) and if you saw the ad with the canopy and picnic benches for each site? NOT! on bench for about 4 parking spaces, no canopy. Oh yeah and they have some arrangement with the taxi service their and if you speak their language you can bargain yourself a ride downtown but they know you need to get back and really stick it to you. The good thing.... there is a great deli and neighborhood market within walking distance so its ok for one night, just passing through kind of thing. use your own shower and keep the kids close. read more

I am with Jim S on all of his points...our rig was even closer to our neighbors. This is an okay place to park your rig if visiting SF, but there is nothing to do in the "resort". Resort is a very loosely used term with regard to this facility. Yes, there is a tiny pool, but that would be the only "resort" item there. We have been staying here for years (family in SF), and we have watched the facility become more and more crowded and much of the facility becoming home for many permanent rigs. Also, the hook us stations are rusting out and need attention. There are not really any options so we will all probably keep coming back, but Encore needs to invest in this property. I do want to mention that we had very good service in the office. read more

I stayed at the SF RV Resort last weekend, and have stayed several times before. I could not believe how run down the park has become. The laundry room was herendous with very dirty floors, washers filthy on top, tash garbage cans overfulling and dog pooped all over the lawns, like the staff doesn't care anymore. I has turned into a truly very sad park. It is not an RV RESORT, it's a run down trailer park. There was a person over in the long term part of the park, that kept riding his Harley back and forth reving up his engine, and did not care that people were staying their and the management did nothing about it, dogs running off leash, and just run down trailers, with cars parked all around them that we barly could get our RV down the road. So sorry to see how the place has changed, we won't be staying there anymore. read more

My husband stayed here in our little trailer after a job moved him cross-country before we could find a house. The resort was a lifesaver. The staff were helpful, the restrooms and laundry were clean, and he fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean each night! The sites are close together and the wifi was slow, but it's an area where property is at a premium, and slow wifi is a small price to pay for a secure, convenient base for several months of house hunting. Okay, here's the truth on this park. We stayed in July 2011. It is definately a parking lot with spaces just a bit wider than your grocery store spot. If you and your neighbor open your door at the same time, you can shake hands! We reserved a large ocean side lot and because we had a popup camper they just went ahead and assigned us a small ocean side lot. We were however pulling with a large truck which didn't fit on the lot. They tried to tell us we reserved a small lot, but I had the confirming email on my laptop. They didn't offer us a large lot, since I guess they had them all rented to others. We had to park the truck down the street. Also the bluff is falling into the ocean, so in most places your only about 6-8 feet from the edge that is falling in. There is no longer any beach access from the park. The path and steps down are all in a pile of rocks that fell in. It is close (2 miles) to the BART system and there is a grocery store nearby. It was also the most expensive camping spot we had in the 4 weeks of traveling across the US. I would not recommend this park to anyone unless you really want to stay in a cramped parking lot. You might want to avoid the ocean spots since you kind of wonder in the night if this is the night more will fall in the ocean. It's a 100 foot drop at least. As an added note, the fog rolls in alot of the time, so you can't hardly see the ocean much of the time. read more

I dont know what it is that that defines a resort. This is not what I think of when I think of the word resort. The only plus about this place is the view. The manager does not appear to be pro active in enforcing the park rules and their are issues. A freezer was outside of a 5th wheel with no lock on it and quite unsightly. A lot of drinking down a long term row with rowdies breaking up 2 by 4s and having fires right next to a wooden fence.... I didnt find the park eco friendly either. Everyone washing RVs daily with unfriendly soaps going into a drain right by the beach. The worst is a guy who does extensive body work to his rig all day washing paint into the drain as well. I was suprised as California is one of the most environmental friendly states in the US that I have visited. I found the laundry over priced and the space rent as well taking in consideration there are no extras here. There is a very cold pool and the showers are not heated. This is an issue as it is cold there. The bus service outside the door to get you to BART is a joke. It takes an hour to get 6 miles down the road and cabs are really expensive. I am now at what I classify as a real resort with all the ammenities that is beautiful and charges less. There are many oceanfront parks that I would consider in california before this one. read more

I don't know what happened to all the other reviews of this place that were on yelp before. Prior to my trip I checked yelp and there were many average reviews, some that just blasted the place and others that were sort of favorable. It could be that I had incredibly low expectations but we were pleasantly surprised and had a great trip. We were blessed with sunny gorgeous weather Memorial Day weekend - probably not the norm. We had a pull through spot which was the second one back from the oceanfront row. We did not use the pool or hot tub, but there were always people in there when we walked by. My husband did take my son over to the little playground/play structure area and did mention it could use a little work/updating. I walked through the laundry area and it seemed as though they had many available machines. I had contact with the office twice before I arrived, because at first we thought we had to change the dates of our trip. They were super accomodating. I then called back and told them it was still on for the original reservation dates and the woman Dorothy that I dealt with with super helpful and friendly. Before we left we checked availability for an oceanfront spot for 4th of July and surprisingly were able to get the last one. I really think that is key. The view is amazing and there is a little path that you can walk on in front of the RV's that face the ocean. I think if we were staying far in the back, I would definitely feel that the place was just a large parking lot. The word "resort" does have a different connotation, especially with all the new RV resorts that are popping up with brand new buildings and have work out equipment and massages. Generally speaking I don't utilize those types of amenities when I camp. So for me this place was just right. I didn't try the public transportation, as we had our own car, and were able to get into the city within minutes and if you are interested in going to the zoo its even closer. Definitely get an ocean front spot or at least close if you can. If you put a little table out and a couple chairs its the perfect spot to drink wine, read, relax, whatever. read more

EYES WIDE OPEN! Previous posts correct, there are definite plus and minus factors to consider. Personally, I was disappointed. Place is run down and very exposed to elements. We did enjoy the view but for us , the sketchy long term renter section( where you also will stay to if you want the weekly rate), lack of upkeep, exposure to tremendous amounts of wind driven salt and sand spray, and high costs outweigh the view ( through two layers of chain link that are there to protect you from disappearing over the edge where there used to be RV parking) and close proximity to city. If you do stay, find somewhere to immediately go afterward to get salt and sand off before permanent damage sets in. No kidding, we could not get vents to open because there was so much coated on them. Tried to wash it off there but was busted by manager for violating rules, turns out you must have a power washer, and no, they do not have one you can borrow or rent. Very true that it is convenient to city, best thing going for it. Also true that most of the staff were friendly and helpful with reservations etc. read more

Ok here's the story....after reading reviews for yrs and as a long term resident, I wanna clarify a few important facts. First the micro-climate here reeks havoc on our vehicles, and everything else here. Stay longer that a week and you'll understand why we appear rusty... virtually impossible to prevent. We have constant maintenance and still struggle to keep anything metal from deteriorating. No BBQ lasts longer than 3 months. It's Mother Nature's cruel joke for giving us such beautiful sunsets that are breathtaking and never get old, ocean life's magnificent creatures in our front yard, comfortable climate year around. A safe and friendly quaint little town, not much crime, never afraid to walk alone. Good neighbors...no great neighbors... that are honest, helpful, thoughtful, kind and are like family. Much better than the overpriced million dollar neighbors i had as a home owner a few miles down the road. We look out for each other and for all those passing thru. Yes it's a paved lot. Sites can be tight. it IS urban California and the city, where we are not as close as some of the homes SF is so famous for, check it out. Land value here is insane...prices can bankrupt. Its about diverse people, and not just a parking lot... Work, Travel,Vacation, Health, Recovery (we have some of the best hospitals with state of the art facilities and practices) Visitors are welcome and considered extra special guests we treat kindly and enjoy passing thru on lifes incredible journey.
