All I can say is BEAUTIFUL, I had the opportunity to visit this location over the 2019 Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately we experienced a medical emergency and had to leave 22hours after arrival. During my time there I experienced the MOST BEAUTIFUL SUNSET that I have ever seen. This location is a must! I Loved going to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing is something that I will never forget. The staff was Awesome, in the midst of our ER, Robin (staff) came and assisted with guidance and direction on how to disconnect our connections and advised me on how to load up my trailer due to my husbands condition. I liked this place. No, I wouldnt consider it a resort but it was good enough for my needs. I stayed in site 59 which is a "premium inland" and got the GS discount which was about 10%. In addition, they let me park my truck in site 7 which is ocean view at no extra charge. The truck site was right in front of the trailer site which meant my ocean view wasnt blocked by a big rig. Pros- 1) Very good water pressure, had to break out my pressure regulator and put it on. 2) Wifi is now free and has very strong signal, several to choose from actually. 3) All hookups worked well even though the electric looks a bit rusty from the sea water spray. 4) Cable has plenty of choices including HBO. 5) Staff is friendly and accomodating. 6) Supermarket, pharmacy, gas station and plenty of restaurants just around the block. Cons- 1) There is a long term area. It is divided by a 5 foot fence from the ocean and premium inland sites. You can see those rigs and some are pretty much rusty buckets. I really didnt care but some snobbier people might. 2) It IS parking lot style and there is no room between rigs. I didnt stay here to hang out at the park so no issue for me. 3) Not that close to San Francisco downtown, it takes a car ride to the train to get into the city. We got used to it and actually prefer staying in the outskirts but there are closer choices. Overall I give it a thumbs up as a base of operations but not so much to stay there the whole time and enjoy resort type activities. 4 stars because I didn't have any problems there, everything worked, staff was friendly and it suited my needs. read more

Okay, I 'leaned' a little towards four stars. It's more like 'three and a half.' And that's if you're on the beach end. If not, and you're in the general populace, you probably would give SF RV Resort a two. Yeah, it matters that much. The nuts and bolts: The place is clean, spaces are mostly level, they have restrooms, showers, pool, jacuzzi, a little store, all that. WiFi is available for about 5 bucks a day, and is reliable anywhere in the park. They have free coffee, and that's nice. No, it's not Starbucks, but it's free. The folks behind the counter are friendly, and helpful. We pulled in two hours before we could set up, and they let us park in an open place till the trailer in 'our' spot, packed up and left. They could have sent us to the Safeway down the street, and let us wait there. Most people will not like the way they are packed in. If you're on the 'beach' end, they put trailers butt first, and Class A and C, front first. Why? Two reasons. One, trailers usually have a back window to look out, and motorhomes only have front windows to look out. Yeah, you look right out at the ocean. The other reason is to pack you in like cord wood. If you like your space, don't even consider this place. But if you're like us, and only spend time to sleep and maybe eat a meal or two, then having breakfast while the surf pounds, and the seagulls and pelicans fly by, is a good thing. Better than worrying about the neighbors being so close. Now, they call it Beach Front sites, but truth be told, you're 100 feet above the sand. Don't expect to have coffee with the waves lapping at your feet unless you're willing to do a little hiking. 'Beach Front' sites cost a little more, but to us, it's worth it! We've stayed here in the general populace places, and you can only hear the ocean. Spend the money for the beach front sites, it's totally worth it. SF RV Resort is not for everyone. That's why you'll find reviews ranging from 1 to 5 stars. I could NEVER give 5 stars to a parking lot, no matter how nice it was. That's me. As I type this, I'm watching surfers and seagulls. My neighbors are off to SF, or other places to explore, and their RV is four feet away from my front door. I couldn't care less. We were here several years ago; so, we came in with low expectations and they still fell short. At about $115 a night, you are essentially in a parking lot in very narrow spaces. Seriously, you won't be able to set out chair, but then again, why would you want to? The ocean view is blocked by rusted out chain link fencing. It is so tight that you open your door and look directly into your neighbors rv. there isn't even enough room to walk between the trailers. The amenities laundry room and swimming pool. I do not recommend this unless you have nowhere else to stay and are only staying for one night for a safe place to sleep. You can't really beat the ocean front location! It is also located close the the highway and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the post office. Despite the close proximity to the highway, I never hear any car noise. The facilities are pretty well maintained; they could probably stand to be renovated in the near future, but are always kept clean and in working order. The Wifi is great in the main office, but a bit spotty in our RV. Oh, there is also free coffee/tea/hot cocoa in the office, which is a nice plus! Safety is ok. We had a bike stolen from us when we first got here (but it was not locked up, so our bad), but have never seen any other criminal activity. My biggest complaint is that the office staff can be less than friendly at times; as a 6-month guest here, I have felt on several occasions like my requests were inconveniences for them. Despite that, I would still overall recommend staying here. read more

This review is more for first time users of this resort. This is a parking stall for San Francisco visitors. The grounds are clean, the staff is friendly and you get some of an ocean view looking through 2 chain link fences if you pay the $91 a night charge with Good Sam's discount. My complaints are the size of the pads. No room in between pads for any kind of outside activities. We paid the premium price for a view and got fences to look at. We also were not offered any kind of discount for having to listen to construction every day to the pool and hot tub area, and we couldn't use it either. Besides a TV lounge, that is the only other activity area here. A lot of full timers and tourist rental coaches stay here. Bottom line, if you need a place to park close to the city, and your not looking for more of a camping adventure, this might be the spot for you. read more

Staff was great, Pacifica is close to SF activities, free coffee/cocoa, the Pacific Ocean is in your backyard, you can use an app to pay for laundry and you can fall asleep listening to the ocean. It's funny that this place has bad ratings so let me just tell you the highlights: - Free Coffee - No-mold Bathooms - Ocean View - Friendly Staff - WiFi - Great Laundry Machines - Heated Pool - Hot Tub It's really a good RV park. The pool is amazing as is the view. There is a fence blocking beach access so you have to walk a half mile. At first this annoyed me until I noticed the eroding cliff and suddenly felt safe. There are pricing option for full hookup vs. just overnight stay. Without hookup you get the ocean view. I can see the flip side being that the park is a little crowded. You wont really feel the pressure though - somehow it seems to flow. Totally recommended. Totally gay friendly. read more

It's a run down dump. We had a premium spot with a wonderful view, but the only reason we had a view was because we backed into our pull in RV spot. For some reason, all the RV spots are pull in (facing away from the ocean view). Didn't make any sense to me, so I backed in(placing our hook-ups on the wrong side(by the front door). Spaces are VERY tight. It seems the owners don't care about this place. It's in dire need of repairs. It seems like they are collecting money from the campers and waiting for the ocean to claim the rest of the property. Sad. Won't stay here again. read more

We were here over Christmas and we really enjoyed the park. It is centrally located to restaurants, walking distance to coffee shops and anything else you like. It is also walking distance to the beach. The laundry room is clean with new washers and dryer's that all work fantastically. They take very good care of the park and everything is updated, and clean. The office staff and everyone we ran into was very nice. They also have a long stretch of lawn to take your dogs to, as well as the back of the property leads out to the trail to the ocean which is a great dog walk area. My reason for only giving four out of five is that I had called about three times prior to arrival to ask about something not related to Thousand Trails, or some thing that Thousand Trails could answer. I never received any phone call back even after leaving three messages and that was very frustrating as we had to cancel one of our trips here based on this. Four for location. We brought our Jeep Rubicon as a toad and that enabled easy access to the beach and all the great bike trials along the Pacific. Park was fine, staff were friendly. This place is a above average RV park. It has all the things you need, from decent bathrooms/showers, easy hookups, quick informative check in and the F$@king ocean 5 feet from your door. Are the ladies working the desk are short with you? Well it's really busy! You try dealing with every weekend warrior and out of the country RV renter and see how interested they are in your personal issues. I think the staff are well trained and if you treat them with respect you might get the same curtesy back. The RV park is well run, efficient, and clean. It's hard to find ocean view rv parking so if that's what you want, this Rv resort will give it to you. We booked last minute and we were able to secure an ocean front spot. The staff at the park and the sunset from our rv is what gets the 4 stars. Beware though. This is an overpriced parking lot. Your paying for the view and location only!!!! We couldn't actually get to the water cause your parked on a cliff. We still liked it and would probably stay again if we needed a place to rest. It's right off the freeway and they let you arrive at any hour in the night as long as you have a spot booked ahead of time. I had done my research ahead of time on the spot and knew what to expect so we were not disappointed. My advice would be to say you have slide-outs on both sides. You'll get a bigger spot that way and at this resort every inch counts! read more

I was a little apprehensive going here after reading several negative reviews. We went with an open mind knowing that the spaces would be small. I can tell you we had a perfect stay at this RV park. Yes, the spaces are tight but the location couldn't be any better. The staff is great. We rolled In late on a Friday and the security guard was very helpful. Our space was big enough and no, the RV's were not touching as others have said. It is not an RV park you go to for relaxation, it is more of a launching point for all of the amazing destinations in the area. We will definitely use this RV park again. read more

Convenience makes the "resort" a 5 star. You can walk to grocery store and restaurants (quite good) and you can be in the city quickly. I loved our site because we had a full ocean view (with hookups) and saw many grey whales. We drove to Colma BART to get into SF and that was effortless. The park itself is really a parking lot and the doggie area is super small and therefore heavily used but it's better than nothing and for the Bay Area I do believe it was absolutely the best option (price wise and for travelers with dogs). I recommend getting the ocean view sites as the inland sites are peppered with long term residents and a bit underwhelming. read more

Before picking this place I read the majority of the reviews. Here were some of the biggest gripes: 1. It's a parking lot - Yes people, this is in the beach town of Pacifica. 2. There is no beach front spots - OK, the park owners can not control Mother Nature. The whole town is slowly eroding away. Some spots you can see the ocean but you would get on the beach. 3. Employees were not helpful - Quite the opposite. Not only were they extremely helpful, but When we told them we had two dogs Amanda showed us on the map how to get to the dog beach (.5 miles) and warned us about the strong tides. Bathrooms were very clean and the laundry room had so many machines to use. You can pull some chairs out and a BBQ (some people did) but it will be on pavement. The have a dog walk area along the sides of the park with lots of poop bag stations. Some reviews also said they had some items stolen. I didn't leave anything out but there were lots of other people who did. Their stuff seemed to be fine. The pedestrian gate to walk to the beach is great. You are off the main road and it's very convenient. I only gave 4 stars because I would have liked to see a coin machine in the laundry room to get change when the office is closed. The WiFi is only available at the laundry room and office but I was not there to use my phone or be on the internet. Yes this park is a parking lot but it's a great location. Go in there with an open mind expecting this and you will not be disappointed. read more

Not the best place at all. This was our first time taking out our trailer and didn't want to go far. 45 minutes or less and we were there....Where..a parking lot with unfriendly neighbors and not so smart staff. Our water connection leaked bad from there part. The boy who came could not fix it and said it was ok..just let it leak. so every few minutes water shot out of the connection with a loud hiss. We had a flow regulator but that made it worse. We were placed right by the highway. Only a few bushes separated us from the road so it was loud all night with trucks. Boo.. The park is by the ocean and there are spots there but it always seems to be full. We were next to long term people I think. Their sewer hose leaked the whole time we were there also, Boo again. I wanted to take my new baby home and give her a bath. If you have a big rig and can get inside you may be ok but this is a tight lot. You can not pull out your awning because you are an arms length from the trailer. I was only happy about the ocean. The tables to eat were at the other end of the lot. I will take the extra drive to marina next time. I did mention my issues to the lady the next day and her reply was "if my husband was here he could of fixed it. You know how these kids are"...Um..no..if the kid is an employee he should know what he is doing. We are in a drought so leaking water is no good. But we did learn about our trailer and the heat worked-so did the smoke detector.. read more

This place gives us a once in a lifetime view of the ocean, but we did not get the right spot for our camper and there is no space at all for outdoor entertainment. There is not even enough parking spaces for the car to park and even though the view is great you can't even go up to the ocean using the path for a bad reason. Terrible-- I have stayed previous years had no issue actually used to be warm & welcoming place was nice, had a nice view when you were able to pull next to the ocean sites now ugly fence all around no access or view!!! Very very UNSAFE PLACE!!! Ladies please be careful I walked to the ladies room after coming back from dinner around 9:45 -10 pm and as I grabbed the door knob going into the restroom/showers out came a homeless man!!!! Scared the shit out of me TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Had i been in the shower or on the toilet as this man came in, who knows what would of happend. It was late at night and most people were already sleeping at this time and I never felt threatened or unsafe coming here before and they say you need a code to get into them so felt It would be ok, OBVIOUSLY NOT!!!! IWAITED TO SEE IF THEY WARNED ANY TENANTS OF THE EPISODE SINCE I DID CONTACT THE EMERGENCY AFTER HOURS NUMBER AND OF COURSE NOT NOT ONE MENTION TO ANYONE which is not good so to at least warn ladies of this will be the last visit I waste on them and for the price HELL NO!!! If it wasn't for the beach view we would of left the first day.. checking into our spot was difficult, not only was someone in our spot and it took a hr to move, the spaces are crazy close together. The hook ups and in the middle of each side, so if you don't have super long plug ins, we'll plan on getting some for this place. We were unable to stay within the lines, after being told by the staff we were okay, they intruded us our third night in telling us we had to move a inch over to get into our lines at 8pm. The staff is a complete nightmare, security was by far the worst we have ever come across. The cliff was also falling, and had fallen so our original spot we had requested were changed do to the fact it was no longer standing... it was a bit uncomfortable knowing that the cliff was breaking away. I would not recommend staying, it was not family friendly, quite or relaxing thank to the staff. I would never stay here again, we woke up to our car keyed and someone trying to flatter our tires, our rv site was tore up, and our wheel stoppers removed from our tires and put on the line of where your rv tires are suppose to sit. We went to the front office and the did nothing to help or fix the problem. They have to cameras, and when they spoke to the police office we had called to file a report the front office manager told him that they had to kick out dug dealers last night from the park and didn't know if they could have messed with our things. It was a complete nightmare staying here, we ended our stay a week early and found a different place to stay. read more

Stayed one night here. The bathrooms are clean, the park is nice. The staff is courteous and helpful. Equality properties owns this Rv resort. This being said, the facilities are dated. The site plumbing, electrical and cable hook ups are old. There is a large fence blocking ocean views due to coastal erosion. The small pull ins are pricey. The town of Pacifica offers good dining, which is very close. Camelot's fish n chips is excellent. Bring your credit card. Overall a pleasurable stay. read more

We stayed at this park March, 16th 2018. Nice park tight spaces. Went along the shore to the small shopping center and found live music at the Class Coffee (or something) Shop. Came back about 9:30 pm and an overbearing night security guard insisted that we move one site over because we were assigned 150 and were in 149. The sites are identical! I am a Thousand Trails member and I have never seen a park where the staff was so uncooperative with simple requests. They actually had a procedure posted to ask for a site change, You guessed it, notify the SECURITY GUARD!!?? We left early next day and never will go back. read more

Great little spot if you want to hit up the Bay Area! The park is safe and near to the water. You can hear the ocean but the downfall is the cyclone fencing blocking the ocean...but that's due to people being less than brilliant and getting on the cliffs. The workers here are nice and they keep it clean. This isn't a real kid friendly place and not a lot to do here at the park. But if you are like us and wanting to park for a great price...this is THE a place to do it. And if you are here you should be checking out the surrounding area. Will definitely come again and will recommend to fellow glampers. read more

This place is expensive for what you get. No WiFi included, no beach access, just a parking lot and when we asked to stay on the property after we checked out of our site so we could go on a bike ride they said we had to be off of the property. That hasn't happened to us before anywhere else, especially on a Wednesday! We were lucky it was during the week so we didn't have a neighbor next to us and we had a end spot with a beautiful view. But because the place was so run down and so expensive for it's quality we will not be back. read more

I have been to many RV campgrounds but none with staff as friendly as this resort. I love how close it is to everything. The sound of the ocean is therapeutic and relaxing. I am glad and fortunate to have found this little gem in Pacifica. Like every other campground, it has some shortcomings but it is perfect as a home base for exploring all the nearby coastal trails and the surrounding towns. I even got to see some whales for the first time in my life from my site! I love it here. read more

I have never been to the "resort?". My husband and myself live in San Francisco and are always more then happy to give lost travelers directions to the campground. During the season we average about 2 a week. We wish the campground would not mislead tourists by implying that they are located in San Francisco. Great location in Pacifica, CA right on the Pacific ocean by the cliff (we saw whales!) and close to San Francisco sights and action. We stayed here for 8 nights in July and really enjoyed our stay. It's important to share a few key points though to manage expectations and know what you are arriving to. First this place was easy to find and access with our 36' motorhome. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and professional. We would consider it more of an RV "park" than a resort - it is NOT a campground with picnic tables, fire rings, space and trees... seriously, if you were looking for that would you head for San Francisco!? But it's a great and pleasant spot close to the city and located right on the ocean. If situated close to the cliffside as we were, you can hear - and possibly even see the ocean - from your site. Pacifica is experiencing cliff erosion, and some apartments and homes have had to be demolished for safety. Sadly, this RV park has had to close about 50 of their premium ocean facing RV sites for safety reasons and there is now wire fencing to keep people away from the cliff edge. But we were in a pull thru about 3 sites from the ocean and could still see it from our front window through the wire fences. We had to disconnect our tow vehicle to properly pull into our site #180 as it was a tight turn. Sites are definitely narrower than many RV parks - our slides were close to our neighbors, but everyone we met was friendly and turnover is pretty high (most people seem to only stay 1-3 nights). Remember you are in/near a major city - but it's not designed for staying in your RV and camping outside, it's for those of us who want to explore San Francisco and have a safe, comfortable place to stay in your RV while doing it! You can get public transport into the city which makes it very convenient and the Office has all that info along with sightseeing brochures and activities in the welcome center where they serve free coffee every day. This is an especially great option for people in rental RVs (we saw many here) who don't have a tow vehicle and/or don't want the hassle of driving, traffic and parking (which is EXPENSIVE and hard to find in SF) and want to leave their RV setup at the RV park so you can head to head out and explore, rather than packing down your RV to do it (as so many vans, Class Bs and Class Cs have to do). We spent a good couple of hours whale watching from the cliff and loved it - they love to hang out there and some come fairly close to shore. This RV park is an easy 4-5 minute walk to the Safeway supermarket and amenities like USPS, Walgreens, restaurants and gas stations... They also have a heated pool and hot tub and a sizable laundry with plenty of machines. Very clean and well maintained. It's not inexpensive (rates can go as high as $111+ a night) but remember, you are right on the ocean and close to the heart of SanFran in your RV and it's still cheaper than most hotels. If you are expecting full-on uninterrupted ocean views and/or a spacious site with a campground ambience, you'll be disappointed. That said, we enjoyed our stay, will return and would also recommend to others, WITH the caveat that you know what to expect and focus on the pros of being in a prime oceanfront location near San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf etc and also an easy drive down scenic Highway 1 to Santa Cruz (about 1.5 hours) Disclaimer: We stayed here for a total of 8 nights, part of our stay was comped through Encore's blogger outreach program - we were invited to visit and write a review on our website/blog about it (which you can find by visiting RVLove.com). There are only two RV Parks in the immediate area of San Francisco (not including those across the Golden Gate or Bay Bridges). One park is near Candlestick Park. The other, San Francisco RV Resort, is on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The beauty of this site is its location. Less than a quarter mile away are restaurants, a meat market, a full grocery store, hardware store, post office, liquor store...you get the picture. You can walk to any of the services and catch a bus and Bart to anywhere in the City if you don't have a toad.. While the scenery is beautiful if you are in one of the bluff-edge sites it starts to deteriorate further back. There are no trees, little grass, and mostly pavement. The sites are not large and are fairly pricey. The closer you are to the ocean, the higher the price. Despite the negatives we continue to return to the park. We love the location and are willing to put up with the minor inconveniences. The view is always wonderful - often dolphins and sea birds can be seen. We have heard that whales are spotted on occasion but have yet to see one. The park is right on Highway 1 and easily accessed from 101 and 80. If you are headed along 101 and/or HW consider stopping here. read more
