This is not a large store but they have a surprisingly good-sized selection and some really beautiful stone. What brought me to the store was their website. Not only does it have large, high-quality photos of each of their stone slabs, it has prices! Most places you have to figure out what their codes mean, and then ask a salesperson for the price. I'll try to stay grounded and not gush too much, but everything about our Granite Warehouse experience was great!! Let me break it down. Selection: Great. Location: Excellent. Knowledge: Excellent. Sales-i-ness: Just Right. Price: Excellent. I found the place by accident while looking for a tile store on Junction Ave and decided to stop in. It is a granite slab warehouse - not prefab counter-tops. The good vibes started with the owner of the business greeting me with a simple, no pressure, "I'm just over here if you have any questions." No creepy hovering, he just went on about his business. I looked around for a few minutes, and when I crossed paths with him again he said, "Let me show you how I do business... The prices for each slab are printed right here (he indicated a piece of paper taped to each slab) with the dimensions listed. That's it." If you've looked around for granite slabs, you will understand why this approach is refreshing. No secret pricing games based on your kitchen size. No strange trips to a room with a calculator. The products are lovely. Some of the slabs were works of art. Their bamboo green granite was a sight to behold. But, I digress. They carry a wide selection of colors from golds and greens to grays and blues. I would guess that they had no few than 30 unique colors, and maybe upwards to 50. His inventory changes fairly quickly. I liked one color that of which he had about 10 slabs one week: when I went back 2 weeks later, he had none left. The owner sources the granite himself. He is very knowledgeable about the locations, the cutting methods, etc. If you visit him, ask him to explain to you why granite cut with a water saw is better than that cut with a petroleum saw. It's compelling! The other thing that I can tell you that very much impressed me was that after we bought two slabs, we were a little unsure if two was enough. The owner put a hold on one more slab from the same rock for us for 3 weeks (until we were sure that we didn't need it). After shopping for granite all last year (yes, I'm picky, but it takes awhile to see how you want your kitchen to look for the next umpteen years!), I finally found my stone of choice at Granite Warehouse. The name of the stone I chose was Copenhagen, but as the owner Joe says, all these names don't really mean anything as the stone is always changing and everyone christens their slabs a different name. Such an amazing selection, but my favorite part was that this is a family-owned business and the owners are personal but not pushy. Quick side note I don't usually add: As a business owner frustrated with the politics of yelp, I implore you to take a look at the "filtered" reviews at the bottom of this page. Each one holds true, and I truly feel us small business owners owe it to one another to watch out for each other--Joe: I don't know if you've seen those hidden reviews, but you are getting many accolades that are unfortunately obscured. I was moving into a new house and the granite in the kitchen was cracked. My realtor suggested these guys and I have been very happy with the results. They had a wide variety of slabs to choose from and never pressured me at all. They even got out the crane to pull slabs for me to look at. Joe was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took all the time that was needed to answer my questions. I had a few set backs with other projects in the home but he was always willing to adjust things like the install date to accommodate what was going on. Very happy with the granite. Large slabs of all kinds of granite for very good prices. In another granite store we had seen our favorite granite, but it was too pricey for us and we would need two slabs. At the Granite Warehouse we found our favorite granite too, and only one slab was large enough to get our kitchen done! Joe is very friendly and knowledgeable. Granite Wholesale is the place to go! After a few years of waiting we finally saved enough money to put granite in our extra large kitchen. We searched high and low for just the right granite. No kidding we easily went to 30 shops from the South Bay through the East Bay. Then I saw the advertisement for Granite Wholesale in a home improvement trade magazine . We went over and took a look. Bingo, I found 4 different colors that I fell in love with. The price was OUTSTANDING compared to the other places. After months of searching I found granite heaven. We ended up buying 3 slabs. I struck gold when we asked the mgr if he new of a installer/fabricator. He told us that his fabricator was on site that day.. We went over and spoke with Genaro Mata who owns Evolution Stone Fabrication and Installation. He made a favorable impression. He had his laptop and showed us lots of pictures. He invited us to his shop to show us the equipment and the work he has done. He gave us references, which we followed up on. We randomly selected 4 people from his huge reference list. All of them were totally happy with his work, and 3 of them invited us over to see their places. Bottom line my kitchen done and is absolutely equisite. I was so thrilled with the way it turned out I don't think my feet touched the ground for 3 days. I also had Genaro do a tile backsplash, and install a couple of murals in the kitchen. Joe was a pleasure to work with. When I first came to pick out the slabs and told him when my fabricator would come, he was accommodating by letting me know he'd show up earlier than his regular hours if necessary. As my guy came in to collect the slabs a week later, Joe did not let him take them as my guy was not only inexperienced but also did not carry the right equipment to transport the slabs. I called Joe to check on the status on my slabs and he indicated my slabs would break if I let this guy take my slabs. I called my guy and he did finally admit that he was inexperienced with handling granite slabs. Joe was kind enough to not only save my slabs but save me from a possible disastrous kitchen! He immediately offered to recommend me a guy he worked with and even came the day I was supposed to grab the slabs. He was very honest in every way he can. I bought 6 slabs but only needed 5 so he refunded me the 6th and that I'm grateful for as some stores would not have done that. No need to look any further, this business is FANTASTIC!! You walk in the door and instantly are greeted by a vast selection of granite slabs, presented in a clean and easy to look at order. The owner Joe, is so kind and helpful, but not pushy in the least bit. We only had a small project and needed a small piece of granite for a mobile home counter top. The unfortunate thing is that the dimensions were very difficult to work with. Joe worked with us and helped us find a nice piece of granite and at a good price! He even called the other company that was going to cut it and sorted out all the details, right then and there. I will recommend this company to both my friends and family! I really didn't enjoy my experience which happened at the Granite Warehouse. Here is my story: I was out looking to buy some tiles for my foyer when I came by Granite Warehouse. They don't actually sell tiles, but I ended up spotting some tiles leaning against the wall. There are only two packages which pack 10 pieces with few unpacked. The manager, Joe, told me there are total 21 pieces, others in his storeroom. He assured me that they are high quality tiles. He bought them for his own need, he asked for $2.00 per sq ft. I asked him about the tile's quality since I saw few pieces with crack corners。 Joe generously said there is no charge for the three crack ones . He even suggested me take the ones without corner home as a free sample. I was happy he can do that, because I designed diamond tile shape on my floor. Some tiles should be cut to fit the side part. as I need to buy extra Everything seems OK after I bought the tiles home and found the followings: 1. These tiles are clearly not high quality. These tiles kept in his store all are unpacked in box. Beside scratches, 22 out 33 pieces have chipped corners. More than half have glue underneath. Several even with tapes showing that it has somehow been used before. 2. I cannot belief that he even put a totally different tile in between to make up quantity. 3. The three crack tiles which he said free for me were definitely added in the bill. Here are my advises: 1. Someday if you accidentally went into this store, never ever trust Business Manager Joe's words: "this is a high quality .... " If this is his definition of "high quality", how can you trust the all the things which sold by him at this store. 3. Please take extremely attention on how the price was counted by him. read more

Joe is awesome. I saw a few pieces of granite I liked but wanted to shop around more. I needed 2 slabs so I wanted to get a good price and make sure it was what I liked. I finally made up my mind at a store miles away but they did not want to give any discount even though I would of needed 3 slabs from them since they were smaller.I went back to Joe for the same granite and got an awesome price. He was getting ready for a move but continued to hold my granite until my contractor was ready. He went out of his way while I was deciding which slab I wanted and pulled each one out as I took pictures and looked at each piece. I was picky because I wanted a lot of burgundy/purple in it. Well the granite is finally in and it's beautiful. I can't wait until the bathroom is finished. I am so happy I went for this granite and found Granite Warehouse. Talk to Joe. He knows his stones. I would give this place a negative five star rating if I could. Worst mistake I ever made was call this so called business. After asking to speak to the manager, who happened to answer the phone, I asked a few questions. He went on to scream and cuss at me, calling me a b*tch for wasting his time. Guess he forgot that potential customers have the ability to review. I thought I had called a....business? o_O Guess not. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know-nor would I ever step foot in his door. There are businesses that can actually speak to people with deceny and treat people with respect. After driving all over the Bay Area I was about to give up hope when I found Joe at the Granite Warehouse. Walking into the yard, one realizes that the selection was going to be tough as most of his granite is alive and has character, more than once I found myself imagining my kitchen with an alternate stone that what was originally intended. My compliment here is that most of his stone is alive, so many places have stone that is just boring, how many variations of white stone must I look at, but at the Granite Warehouse the stone lives and in the end I got the stone I originally wanted because the colors. After going to 20 other granite stores I had a pretty good idea of prices, Joe's prices are great, very reasonable. After looking at my drawings Joe calculated that I would probably need three slabs and then assured me that if I only needed two he would give me my money back on the unused slab. Now that is great customer service. A little about Joe, my feeling he was genuinely happy to see me and I had never met him. Moreover, had I not bought anything I pretty sure he would have been just as happy as long as I found what I wanted...Thank you. Came to Granite Warehouse after visiting two other well-known granite slab businesses which were not very helpful and seemed too busy to answer my questions. Granite Warehouse had some good Yelp reviews so I decided to give it a try, and I am glad I did! I purchased a slab for my kitchen counters and came back a month later to purchase a second slab for a kitchen hutch and fireplace. Joe is very helpful, but will leave you alone to look over the slabs after answering any questions. He will steer you toward more reasonably priced granite slabs and is willing to negotiate to help you out if price is an issue. For my second purchase I wanted an inexpensive slab and he helped me find a granite slab that fit my needs and was one-third the price of another dealer. Also, a granite fabricator, Gustavo, was there when I purchased my first slab and I was very happy with his work. I am using him again for the second project and Joe called him to come look at the slab before I had even called him!
