Beautiful slabs, expert advise, and reasonable prices! This time I had the fabricate the desired pieces onsite, which reduced the number of vendors involved. I'm convinced that the kitchen countertops, fireplace surround, and patio table I bought during my last remodel sold my previous house for many $$$ more, and in one day.

    Leathered finish granite.

They did a fantastic job. The edges are beautifully done and the granite flows seamlessly onto the bay window.

This is an outdoor 'showroom' for stone and tile. Since the stone is water and weatherproof, that's is not a problem, even if we are not. :) Wander around freely. No real pressure. Lots of selection here. All displayed in natural light so you can see the true beauty of the stone. From the few questions that I asked, I felt that I might have found a lower price here than at the big enclosed warehouse. This guy has a lot of inventory on hand. The entrance that we came in contained row after row of slabs...mostly granite but quite a bit of marble too. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Ht_aomzaTNXqvrWs0cc8WQ?select=fwvtT2BUFKyCMxPhrTsjOg The other end of the lot contains pre-fab counter tops and table tops. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Ht_aomzaTNXqvrWs0cc8WQ?select=6TOCa0dkQASQCWATk17pEg The pre-fab material did not have quite the distinct and unique looks of the slabs. But the price was less, too. Has a small building with a couple of 'model' kitchen set-ups with the different stone. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Ht_aomzaTNXqvrWs0cc8WQ?select=fYdqDwqTz7V8pJpilo9h6w I also noted a couple of marble fireplace mantels. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Ht_aomzaTNXqvrWs0cc8WQ?select=tcjIDLstN-EJTgDNvv1InQ If you are looking for stone for a project this should be on your shopping list. They will sell you just the stone or they also do the installations, too!

They do an amazing job at Silicon valley granite. I had them put marble in my kitchen which turned out beautiful and they did it in 1 week. The one week was unbelievable. So nice to have the kitchen only torn up for 1 week when most places will take several weeks. They had an amazing selection of stone. My countertops are really beautiful!! I love them. I highly recommend Silicon Valley Granite because it couldn't have gone any better than it did!!!!! Great job!

Our new slab heading home. Emporador Dark brown.

Having never purchased or researched marble and granite before I was happy to find SVG through Yelp. All reviews were great so I decided to check them out. We were greeted by Sridhar and he was very nice and patient with us. We asked a lot of questions and he gave us additional information we wouldn't have known to ask. Most importantly was, when we found the Emporador Dark marble slab we fell in love with, that it would not be suitable for a kitchen since marble doesn't hold up well to scratches and stains. I'm pretty sure other salespeople wouldn't have shared that info and would have gladly sold us the wrong material to make the sale. I only say this because I did encounter a salesperson at another location we went to after checking out the stock at Silicon Valley Granite who tried to do just that. Shridhar was kind enough to let us take a sample with us which was essential to our decision. Many other places didn't have samples which made things harder. Anyway, after checking out all of the granite stores on Junction and Rodgers in San Jose, we decided to work with Sridhar and made an appointment to come in with my fabricator the following week to pick out our slab. Once there, he pulled all of the available slabs of the Emporador Dark to let my fabricator and I pick out the best one for our project. Loading and payment were easy and we were on our way within a short amount of time. I also appreciated seeing the stone in the natural light as the first time I saw it, it was raining and cloudy, which can alter the look but we were convinced it was the right color choice. The only bummer is that I couldn't find the perfect slab of granite for the kitchen but that's not his fault - he had a huge selection - I'm just too picky! Reasons I plan to work with Sridhar and Silicon Valley Granite again and to refer him to others in the market for his products: * Huge selection of materials from granite, marble, pavers, pre-fab counters and vanities. * Outdoor "warehouse" allows you to see the stones in natural light. * Great prices. * Ready for immediate delivery. * Convenient location just off Hwy 101 in San Jose. * Excellent service. And, most importantly, they are HONEST! I should mention that although I initially walked on the lot with my husband, I went back to make the selection and purchase on my own (the fabricator showed up after a while) and was never treated "like a woman" or felt taken advantage of. I am so glad I found Silicon Valley Granite and plan to use them for all of our future natural stone projects. Before and after pics to be posted :o)

Quality of back splash is visible on the picture. It didn't go the the end of the wall leaving a hole.

I ordered a bathroom vanity counter top from Silicon Valley Granite. Quality of finish was poor. See picture of the backsplash which did not go to the end of the wall. In addition, Sridhar added $300 to the price he had originally quoted for delivery. It had not been disclosed when he bid. A small 30x22 bathroom vanity countertop (using Caesarstone) ended up costing 900. The quality and fit and finish was not even close to that price. It was a mistake working with this company. Costly lesson learnt.

Much like the other reviews of SVG, I had an excellent experience. We literally walked his entire yard 10 to 15 times on two different occasions. Sridhar was there the entire way giving us every bit of detail about each slab and helped us match the color of our stone for our outdoor kitchen. We finally decided on a leather finish slab that we were really happy with. Sridhar is also incredibly honest and you won't feel like he's trying gauge you on pricing. We were able to negotiate a price that was fair for him and us. We did not get the fabrication work done from him, but I'm sure it's top notch. I'd recommend him to anyone that is in the market for solid stone.

I selected quartz slabs from MSI website and requested Sridhar to order them for me (as he is also the dealer for MSI) and then Fabricate it for my kitchen. When the underlayment was ready for the cook top side and sink side, Sirdhar's team cut the template and promised to cut the quartz in a week's time. Exactly a week later a team of 4 came and fixed the quartz counter top and the backsplash in 3 hours time. To my amazement I could not find a joint any where, a perfect Job. During this project, Sridhar was responding on quickly to all my questions. Also very competitive rates.

    gorgeous!

The granite I found here was beautiful! I was looking for something special and found it here. They also did the fabrication and install. The pricing is good and the service is excellent. After a new kitchen cabinet install, they came in and made templates. They came back 4 days later and installed with the most care to get things perfect. I had a granite backs plash which they caulked to match the color of my walls. They cleaned up the granite and sealed it that day. The granite installers did an excellent job and I would definitely go back. My biggest concern was the under mount sink and the proximity to the bar. They took my sink with them and cut the sheet metal, modifying it to fit perfectly and allay all my concerns.

Quartz counter was a slab purchased at Silicon Valley Granite, and cut/installed by them as well. Came out perfect!

Ordered an 18" hollow core door for a small closet. Not a size that is normally stocked (anywhere)…read moreso it was a special order. I worked with Ryan. He took the order, and the door arrived about a week later. All good so far. However, the "good" stopped there. When we tried to install the door, we found that they had left no space between the door and the frame in the top left corner. If you look at any installed door, it should have a 1/8-1/4" gap between door and frame so that it can open. With this door, no gap. The door was cut just a bit too wide. We couldn't open it. We contacted Ryan and he acted offended that we had this issue. He immediately blamed it on us and asked really condescending questions (perhaps because I'm middle aged female, though I worked for years as a carpenter and my contractor is an excellent carpenter and experienced door installer). He actually asked me (several times) if we had removed the shipment screws that secure the door to the frame for shipment. Wow! That is a truly condescending question. He said we were installing it wrong. He was sure there was nothing wrong with the door and was very defensive. We sent him pictures of the door showing the issue. (See photo) The door was completely level and plumb, and there was no gap. One of his sales guys even came by, looked at the door and saw the same problem. Since we didn't want to rebuild the whole door, we asked him for a slightly larger header piece (just 1/8-1/4" longer) so we could disassemble the frame and reassemble with a slightly longer header, and he grudgingly agreed. My contractor drove through rush hour traffic to their location to get the new header. Guess what, it was exactly the same length as the previous one. Exactly. Not a millimeter longer. He provide us with a stock header. Why did he waste 2.5 hours of my contractors time to come pick up a standard header? It feels vindictive and unprofessional on Ryan's part. He said that he would provide us with the item that would resolve the issue, but he didn't. And he was rude about it even though it was his error. We finally created a small shim to move out the side frame piece a bit, and the door worked fine. (see picture). This place might be OK for standard, premade doors, but don't use them for a custom door, and don't expect Ryan to treat you like you have a brain in your head if there are any issues.

He then stated the part wasn't in stock at their warehouse but was in stock at their SF warehouse--however, I'd have to pay for the part ahead of time before he can transfer it. I'm a busy guy and really don't feel like making two trips to their North SJ location (one to pay and one to pickup) so I asked if I could call him and pay for it over the phone, and he agreed. After multiple attempts to call him, I was finally able to reach him and proceeded to give him the cc number, and he stated that he'd ring it up and email me the receipt. Well, the receipt never showed up, but I figured it was the end of the day when I reached him, and he'd do it in the a.m. Well, I woke up this morning with a phone call from my CC stating my card had been blocked, and I needed to call them. It turns out there were several attempts of fraudulent purchases (one for several hundred dollars to Angelo Minetti and another for $12 for some other nonsense) that they had blocked. Fortunately, they caught the purchases, and they never went through. Luckily, this is my company CC and not my personal card, so it doesn't affect me too much. But is it a coincidence that the very same day I give this guy my cc that all of a sudden I'm getting fraud on my card? You be the judge, but I'm going with my gut on this. TLDR: Avoid these crooks.
