After shopping my life away at the Dillard's clearance center up the road i decided to stop for lunch. I ordered the taco supreme meal. (3 tacos, rice and beans) I got 2 hard shell and 1 soft shell with chicken. The hard shell tacos were great. The soft shell was a bit bland. The shell itself. The chicken was great in all 3. My waitress wasn't very attentive. She never told me her name & never refilled my water. Nothing overwhelming good about this restaurant. Decent food ok service & good prices. If I'm at Dillard's and hungry again I may stop in, or find something else. Nothing memorable about this experience. read more

I will say that I went on a day that I don't think they expected to be busy. I went on National Margarita Day. The bad thing is that instead of a margarita cup I got it in a rocks cup. Our server was completely unable to keep up with our tables. We did not get refills on our waters at all. The food was amazing. I had a combo platter that included my favorite, chile relleno. It had a good flour coating and a creamy cheese in it. The ground beef in the enchilada was a little sweet, but the chicken was excellent. I recommend getting chicken in their items. read more

We have driven by San Jose for a long time. OMG, I wish we had come in sooner. The Sangria is homemade and Margaritas were well made. Our food was great! Guacamole is freshly made. Refills hard to come by. Food was ok, it's decent nothing really special in my opinion. Not crowded at all. Parking can be a bit of a pain. Chips and Salsa was good. I don't know what happened to this restaurant but the service has gone down hill and fast. Today is Cinco de Mayo, I expected slow drink times and a wait to be sat. I didn't except for someone to say they are going to look for a table and then not come back. I didn't expect to be sat outside where they allow smoking and provided no warning. I also am frustrated beyond belief that they asked us to move tables so they could fit a party of 12 after sitting for an hour. The max group was supposed to be 10. After expressing frustration of the overall experience, the waiter told me we could take our margaritas and leave because there are other people to sit down. We didn't leave..we should have. Then we were told 1 1/2 hours in they prioritized the TOGO orders, I'm sitting here in your restaurant. 2 hours later we get food, mine was not even hot. The margaritas were supposed to have Jose Cuervo and definitely didn't. The party of 12 gets their food in 30 minutes. The waiter said "sorry for the wait but" and then walked away didn't finish the sentence... no manager stopped by nothing. I understand this is a rough time but don't open if you can't handle 25% occupancy. We were looking for a great place that wouldn't break the bank after softball. They don't have any "Taco Tuesday" discounts but the food was plentiful and good. Two of us split their sample appetizer, small queso with ground beef, and salsa and chips... we can pack the food away... seriously... but with splitting this we were fully satisfied... all for $21 dollars (no beverages). I really enjoyed this place! Stopped in here with my better half on a slow weekend. We sat in the bar area in one of the booths and had a nice young lady wait on us. The place was exceptionally clean (sometimes a bit too much in the bathroom with that bleach smell - but it's better than something else). Chips and the salsa are a good indicator to me on if the place will be on point and this one sure was. Tried out a burrito (as I normally do when trying a place out for the first time) and was surprised at the flavor, the fullness and really enjoyed it. Decently priced as well. Twice disappointed. I reserved making a review on my first visit just in case I caught them on a bad day. Sadly, my return visit was pretty much a repeat of the first time. I decided to make the second trip after another recent Yelp review description of the lunch buffet. I'm not sure how my experience could be so different.... perhaps because I arrived early for lunch? The kitchen staff was still stocking the steam table with selections. Several is a relevant term meaning more than one! The protein choices were very limited and some items looked like they were perhaps left over from who knows when. The food that I did select was average at best - lacking seasoning and flavor. The table service was lacking in attentiveness and friendliness. From reading other Yelp reviews this seems to be a common theme. The management should walk across the street and recruit some staff from the Taco Bell. The restaurant is nicely decorated and prices are reasonable. However, based on my two visits, a third trip won't happen in the near future. read more

This a great authentic spot for Mexican Food. My favorite dish here is the infamous Chicago Tacos, considering I am from Chicago it really does remind me of the Mexican Food back home. I decided to come here on Valentines Day and I was highly impressed. I was able to be seated right away and they had a live Mariachi band. Score!!!!! If you decided to choose the Valentines Special for 2 people it included 2 Margaritas, Ceviche, Steak or Chicken Fajitas, and Tres Leche for dessert all for 35 dollars, Can you believe that? But since I love the tacos so much I got the tacos with, a huge margarita glass made with Patron. Put it this way my Valentines date was with Mexican Food and a Margarita, and I was not disappointed. If you order the steak tacos they are made with fresh cilantro, onions, and guacamole. You are able to have four corn tortilla steak tacos all for the price of 10.99. My review is based on their AYCE buffet which is filled with various proteins and sides. Their buffet consisted of several meats including steak, chicken and pork. The steak which was cooked fajita-style along with onions and peppers was extremely tender and tasty, it was definitely the highlight of the buffet. The chicken was offered two ways, shredded and in chunks which was also cooked with a mixture of onions and spices. The chicken tasted just fine, it just didn't compare to the steak. There was also a shredded pork which was tasty, however, it did taste a bit too salty. In addition to the meat they also offered rice, refried beans, chimichangas, flautas, enchiladas and quesadillas. As for the condiments, they offered guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and a salsa. Other than the steak which was great and the cheesy chimichangas, everything else was average. What would prompt me to come back is the buffet, but I definitely wouldn't return to buy a single plate of their food. What also brings down the rating from being greater is their service. I don't intend to be treated like royalty when dining, especially at an AYCE, but I do expect to be more than just another mouth to feed. The food is always fresh, the staff well-trained and always willing to help you. The bar is full of incredibly well-made drinks. If you want heat like I do, all you have to do is ask. My first encounter with this restaurant was a year ago, shortly after hurricane Irma hit central Florida. They were one of the only places open. Half of the store was open and running on generator. The service was so impeccable - the owner and his son were waiting tables and running around and making sure everybody was taken care of. Food came out on record time - you wouldn't think they were operating on generator. My only thought was "wow, this place must run so smoothly when they have all their resources available".
