San Jose's Original Mexican Restaurant is a good enough Mexican restaurant located in a nice well-maintained shopping plaza (so parking won't be an issue) and offers good food served by a friendly staff. The ambiance is pleasant enough and pretty much what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I went with a burrito and enjoyed it. If you are in the area and craving Mexican food, San Jose's Original Mexican Restaurant is a good option.

Stopped by this restaurant with my family for lunch before we went to the movies and overall, we had a good experience. Upon arrival, our server gave us chips and salsa and it had just the right amount of spice. We ordered flautas, the sampler, kids quesadillas, pineapple agua Fresca, and birria tacos. Everything was very tasty and the birria tacos had a kick to it. The broth was delicious and the sampler had a little bit of everything. The prices were reasonable for the portions. Staff were also friendly and attentive. The restaurant is pretty big and has a bar too so there's plenty of seating even on busy days.

Man o man! This place was a surprise to my wife and I. We stayed nearby and were searching for some Mexican cuisine. I did a YELP search and Bickety Bam, we found ourselves in front of San Jose's. Gotta say, we were very satisfied with our service, but more importantly, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We split an order of Shrimp Tacos and the Sampler Platter, that had tamales, chimichangas, Flautas, and nachos. Man it was muy bueno y delicioso! This was a great way to end our vacation, as we hopped on a plane the next day. Thank you for the wonderful experience and as always, Enjoy & Happy Eating!

The environment is very nice, decorated. Staff were friendly. Food was good. We ordered quesadilla as appetizer, chimichanga with beef tinga and chicken with cheese on top (we thought that was going to come with cheese dip, but was only melted cheese. Everything was good.

So I had a long day at work last week and what cures all of that?! Mexican food, duh! San Jose was on my list of places that I've been wanting to try so naturally, I went, got a table outside, ordered a Sangria and placed an order of their steak. When I tell you, everything was so fresh and soooooo delicious, I mean it. I feel like sometimes local Mexican restaurants lack flavor or cater to the locals. I deeply feel like they just need for the flavor needed to be spoken about. So here I am. Also the Sangria, while it didn't seem like it was very strong with liquor rather than the fruit stuff they put in it, it was still very good! So did it do what it needed to be done after a very stressful week...YES! Definitely recommend!

I found this place it was close to closing time but they were still doing the best our server Kenzie was very sweet and helper we order the sampler for 2 which was even it was so delicious the flavors were amazing ! We were hungry and had not been in Ocoee for a while, so decided to take a suggestion from an employee from a nearby store. The restaurant is at the corner of the plaza and has 2 sections (by the bar area and larger tables area). It is decorated as a Tex Mex restaurant and the boothe we sat at was comfortable. The menu is a bit limited, but you get a good mix of Tex Mex flavors. Jalexis our server was attentive, friendly, checked on us often and answered any questions we had. That for sure makes the meal more enjoyable. Our food tasted good, it was made to order, quality ingredients, good flavor, good portions and entrees included sides and tortillas. The Tinga Poblana missed a bit of Chipotle flavor, but it was good. We ordered the Sangria (refreshing, full of fruit, red), Queso Fundido, Sopa de Pollo Bowl (comes with rice in it), Ensalada de Nopal (cactus salad, really good) and the Beff Tinga Poblana. I have known about San Jose for years and for some reason never made it a trip. We will be back and/or try their other locations.

This used to be a really good restaurant. Went there yesterday, the food portions have shrunk but are more expensive, the food quality is nothing like it used to be, and the service is Lousy. Maybe they need some new management or ownership, the place is a rip off and we will never return. There are much better Mexican restaurants to go to in the area. read more

When i came to san jose's i expected authentic Mexican restaurant but no i was greeted with cold nasty food with taste smell of garlic this isn't no original mexican restaurant it's more like white washed instead of corn tortillas for the tacos they gave us flour ones the thing that carried the meal was the beans this is my first and my last time at San José do not recommend 0/5 read more

I got take out from here which took about 20-25 minutes maybe. I ordered the sampler platter which was filling enough for both me and my mom. A third person could possibly eat off it it too. It came with nachos, flautas, chimichangas, tamales, and quesadillas. It was sooo good ! I would def eat here again . read more

This is one our favorite Mexican spots! We really miss the lunch buffet (please bring it back!) but we still go from time to time. The quesadillas and burritos are fantastic and the servers have always been friendly. Make sure you try the queso dip and the guacamole they are the best! read more

Finally got to try this place and I must say that I was neither flattered nor disappointed. I think this was an average Mexican restaurant with a below average buffet. After experiencing EL Potro's buffet prior to this place I can definitely say that EL Potro has better food and variety. Service was decent, the waitress was attentive but it got to the point where we felt rushed to eat. It was a little awkward. I did appreciate that the stuff put out on the bar was freshly cooked and limited in quantity, probably due to the lack of guests in the restaurant, but it was kind of annoying to have to ask and wait for typical items that you would assume should be there already. We had to wait for ground beef and flour tortillas. The buffet was decent for the price but I will probably never revidit read more

This restaurant is one of the best most comforting/welcoming Mexican restaurants in the area. I have been eating at this restaurant for well over 10 years and in that time i can safely say that I have had less then maybe 3 incidents where i had to talk to the manager & they have never failed to correct the issue without hesitation. The current manager Adela is also the sweetest, she always is sure to greet the tables as well as help her staff out. Huge thumbs up to this restaurant! read more

Can I give zero stars?! Absolutely terrible! It took an hour to get our food, and then it was cold when it came out!!!! The few meals that weren't cold didn't even taste good! Nobody tried to do anything to fix it or help. I love Mexican food, but I have never had Mexican food this bad! I would have rather Taco Bell over this! Then as soon as we finished eating a few members of our party went to the restroom (where or if the toilet seats was broken) and a server came to the table to ask if they could take the table away for a different group. What a terrible experience we had! read more

Absolutely love this place! I've been countless times and I plan to keep coming. California burrito is off the meter as well as every option we've chosen. My girl is Spanish and it pleases her(not easy to do). I highly recommend, our to go spot in this area. read more

The outdoor patio is open and the large garage door window at the bar was open to the patio. Very cool. The food was good but the service was bad, we sat in the bar and there wss 2 other people. We had to wait for our drinks twice ..and I mean empty ! The restaurant is nice, clean and big I have been there for lunch also and the service was excellent. I hope they stay in Ocoee but they need to hire a professional to train the servers. read more

Oh my goodness! If you're looking for amazing Mexican food at great prices, I highly recommend San Jose's. Try the California burrito but be prepared to take home leftovers unless your appetite is that of a competitive eater. The burrito was crazy huge. In the pic posted with my review, I put my hand next to it. I, by no means, have small hands. My hands are actually quite large for a female. The queso dip was equally as fantastic! 5 stars! read more

This Mexican restaurant has a yummy menu and a lovely staff. The menu is very wide from tacos to burritos an awesome lunch menu and a cheap dinner menu as well. The chips and salsa are amazing but if you really want spicy ask for the hot salsa (beware is extremely hot). The restaurant is usually packed on Friday and the weekend. If you're looking for a cheap fast lunch they do offer a yummy buffet! All in all, this Mexican restaurant is very affordable and quite delicious. read more

The best Mexican my favorite place to come to. The fajitas and margaritas are amazing! Eduardo is the best my girlfriend and I have been coming here for years and he always makes sure to take the best care of us! I wrote this review before I realized it is the sister store of the one I frequently visit in Altamonte Springs, but it's relative.... It's food, it's Mexican fair, and it's edible. Gormet it's NOT! I come here because it's close and clean, the atmosphere is okay. If this was my place I could really do something with it but I'm not going to waste your time talking about average food. I will just say that, when I come I get the California burrito. Don't get the connection? :/ But it's very large and can be shared with leftovers. And it's pretty okay. The chicken soup is okay in a pinch if you are hungover or have a cold it's worth the trip. But it's basically chicken breast and commercial broth with some compulsory veggies and season. The rest, well the kitchen has a cook not a chef. Pretend you're at a friends for dinner and dig in. You won't get food poisoning. At least I never have and I've found myself here quite a few times. But when I visited a sister store out towards Ocoee it didn't hold up as well. So then you are on your own. read more

Me and you wife had the chimichangas. I had the chicken and she had a vegetarian one. The chicken was was bland and it was not authentic. The vegetarian one was terrible they put just a frozen bag of veggies inside like you get from Walmart and the veggies weren't even chopped. The quality and price was not at all worth it. read more

We love San Jose's! Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Everything we have has is delicious but my favorite is the chimichange and steak fajitas. The service is also good, and unlimited homemade chips and salsa - both made fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant, this has been our go-to Mexican food for many years! read more

The ambiance and feel of the bar is very "sultry" and "intimate." The mood lighting, dark paneling/interiors paired with the bar itself being lit to be the center of attention, lends itself to the secretiveness and LURE that a modernized speakeasy would provide. I truly enjoy stepping foot into this little hidden, but NOT so hidden, gem (which can be accessed from the interior to Talay). Service can be slow at times - especially when they are busy. However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

I was making ok time but when I got into the lobby I knew I only had 15 minutes to spare. And there was a long line to check in. When I finally checked in I only had minutes left. I walked up the busy evening bar with little to no hope. And yet one of the busy bartenders saw me and said they had last call already, but they would get me for one. Halleluiah. One martini later and I was ready to wander to our room. The Swizzle is retro, brightly lit, and especially friendly. Looking forward to stopping in again soon.

Our recent visit to San Jose Restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service was subpar--the waiter was noticeably impolite and seemed uninterested in providing even the most basic level of hospitality. To make matters worse, it was a very cold night, and instead of heating, cold air was blowing on us the entire time, making the dining experience incredibly uncomfortable. The food only added to our frustration: it arrived cold and lacked flavor or freshness. It was, frankly, unappetizing. Given the poor service, uncomfortable environment, and unacceptable food quality, we left both furious and dissatisfied. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Zero stars if I could read more

My family and I have been going here for years due to the personable touch the owner himself has once he gets to know you. We even used them for my sister's bday party years ago and the catering was awesome! Plenty of food for everyone! Usually when I go, I order a combo dinner which is always good, but my favorite is really the queso blanco and drinks:) Everything else is pretty good and I like that they have vegetarian options, more authentic meals as well.
