Wow! French Toast was well presented

Great service. Yummy breakfast. Pretty restaurant. It's like we get to be back in Mexico for a moment. They have a bakery, it's not items we eat but they are very popular. Plenty of seating. Indoor and outdoor. Hubby gets something different every time. He got an omelet this time. $17.46 I get chilaquiles verde with scrambled egg $17.46 and flour tortillas $7.16 for 3. Ouch. I make mini burritos with them. Prices have increased again. That's why we rarely eat here now. It's just gotten way too expensive. Daughter got French toast. Was presented well. With cut pieces of strawberries and whipped cream. But again the price, ouch. $14.16 Tamarindo I'm told is fresh $5.10 OJ not fresh, is from a bottle $5.30 Hot chocolate $5.41 Right at $90 for breakfast... it's a nice treat but must be a rare one.

Soooo disappointed in how my single cupcake was transported! It was placed in a nice box only to drive home and found it on its side. Ruined gift! I suggest they package better to protect the artwork cause what a heartbreak. Guess I have to eat it, but found someone else to package a nice gift for my friend! Their pastries are good and nice bread!

We shared each order so the photo is kind of messy

I was looking for an authentic Mexican food when we visited Carlsbad. This place was suggested by one of the staff in the Mission Del Rey. The servings were huge but the tastes lack the mex food authenticity. We ordered Chicken tacos combo and the Friday special which is a the Beef Milanese sandwich combo( i think). The Friday Special taste like it was fried in old oil. I usually ask the servers for their favorite but this time I ordered what's advertised on their special menu. The service is great and place is clean and there are lots of nice paintings on the wall.

Great food service ambience all the checks. Came from vista, 15 min drive but worth it. The flavors are real.

Came by to order a birthday cake. I'll review that experience once we get the cake. Ordering was easy and they worked with what I was requesting. I needed a small birthday cake with a paw patrol image. I don't pick it up for a few days but will update review. We did get some cookies and pastries. So far everything has tasted great. Didn't try the restaurant.

This is my fourth time here, I make this a must stop between L.A. to San Diego to enjoy a very good bowl of menudo. I also enjoy having cafe de olla with the sweet bread from their bakery. The staff if very attentive to make sure we enjoy our meal. You can also visit San Luis Rey Mission right next door. On Saturday mornings you also get live music on occasions.

Easy going atmosphere. Great local Mexican restaurant !! The tamales are yummy!! Red or green, they are good ! It is a family owned restaurant. The tamales are ready to be ordered for the holidays!!!

    My receipt

Check your receipts *****Pastries and coffee were really good. Food was ok we didn't finish our plates. However when I received the check I thought it was a bit high for 2 adult meals and one kids meal it was $64. I questioned the cashier and she looked at the receipt but she said it was right. When I went to the car and I added in the calculator and it did not add up. I went back inside and realized they tried adding an extra meal like the one I got but in a very sneaky way. Instead of it being an added item on the receipt it was on the left which seemed like it was the fries that I was paying more for. Will not be coming back !!!!

    Huevos Rancheros was delicious!

Great service and wonderful food! The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. Will be returning to this fine establishment! Currently visiting California but this will be marked as my favorite spot!

Thank you for the last 18 years....your breakfast/lunch menu was always made with freshness and love. Your pastries are next level, what more can I say...and the staff were always so amazing! Five stars all the way! We have found our new favorite breakfast place in Oceanside. We picked up a…read morelarge order to go which took ~15 to 20 minutes on a weekday around 8 AM. One of the best items is the Chicken and Waffles Benedict ($19). It worked extremely well together with the sweetness of the Belgian waffle and the savory notes of the chicken. It included small containers of maple syrup. The hashbrowns were the best! They really killed it with the super crispy outside. Loved it! However, DH liked the Savory Crêpe ($15) even more! This one just had such a great flavor combination: the little bits of chicken, mushrooms, and classic Provence seasoning. The avocado toast ($8.50) with an over-easy egg ($3) was amazing. It features a multigrain bread and just had some great toasty flavors and topped with a little bit of micro greens. Everything worked so well together. The ham and cheese croissant sandwich ($9.25) is a rectangular shaped one. There is an omelette "patty", tomato, and bacon on the inside. This one was also surprisingly good, even when deconstructed and reheated the next day. The kids really enjoyed sharing a sweet crêpe ($14) with four toppings: strawberry, banana, chocolate, and real whipped cream. We tried a cappuccino ($5.25) and a soy latte ($5.25 + $1 for milk substitution). They were really good, not bitter, but I wish it was a little bit more concentrated. Maybe I'll try oatmilk next time. All of the pastries were amazing. We got a bunch to share and enjoy throughout our vacation. We tried two scones ($3.85 each), blueberry and raspberry pecan. The scones were nicely crunchy on the outside, yet soft and tender on the inside. Wow! We froze these for eating the next day and slowly thawed them in the oven and they were still wonderful. The brown butter chocolate chip cookie ($2.95) had a rich buttery taste. The texture is right in the middle and it's pretty large. Holiday Christmas tree cookie ($4.50) is a delicious buttery sugar cookie with a multitude of sprinkles. This one is not very big, but you can tell it required a lot of work to make it. Get more than one! The Chocolatine ($4.75) was a favorite. So flaky and it has a good amount of chocolate in the middle. Cheese Danish ($4.75) and All Day Bun ($3.75) are saved for later so we haven't tried them yet. Overall, an amazing place for a high-quality breakfast. We will be back!

They are think so consider sharing one donut between two adults but after a good workout, I can finish one donut solo. We ordered the popular French toast and six donut holes. I have had amazing cake shops in Los Angeles (sweet lady Jane, Porto's, even the tom cruise cake) but this place makes the most amazing, consistently delicious cakes. I dream about the moment there's another event that needs a cake so I can bring some from Crimson cake. I love their cakes so much I ordered a full cake tasting so I can try different flavors. My top favorites: 1. Chocolate with chocolate mousse (it's insanely perfect and great for freezing small pieces and bringing it out to nibble. Also equally love chocolate with fresh strawberries but just doesn't last as long in the fridge. 2. Black Forest cake - decadent chocolate with fresh raspberries that cut the chocolate decadence with the perfect balance 3. Pineapple and coconut- anyone who loves this combo will LOVE this cake. My husband's favorite. 4. Red velvet - not overly sweet exactly how I love it. The other favors I've tried that were decent were carrot cake, pistachio raspberry, almond raspberry. Pistachio flavor is super subtle. Carrot cake was not as moist as other carrot cakes I've had and almond raspberry couldn't taste much almond. Service is great and always good communication. They even made sure to load my car with items I've over based over the past year. Location is in a business park area so never had an issue finding parking. Crimson Cake will be my forever cake shop. Things bought: Raspados (1 fresas cremosas and 1 strawberry), elotes puercos, equites, and some pan). Food: Raspados flavors were really good and not watered down at all. What I liked about these raspados was that the ice doesn't melt fast and nice ice texture unlike other spots I've tried in SD county. The esquite has been one of the best I've ever found here in SD county (I've tried so many trying to find the right one since moving here 9 yrs ago!). Fresh corn, perfect amount of cheese with great taste, and just delicious. Elotes puercos had this sauce that I wish it was offered in the esquites as a flavor. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THE RECIPE of this sauce!!! I tried 3 different types of pan (cochinito, oreja, and this white yellowish ball). The cochinito had a strong after taste that I didn't enjoy. Oreja was ok and I actually did eat, would of liked more of the glaze on it. The white yellow ball had no flavor at all (I'm assuming it was butter with sugar but still no flavor) but the bread itself was tasteless as well. Ambiance: Pretty clean and organized, bright pretty color tones. Customer service: Was greeted as soon as entering and every employee was very attentive and with a friendly attitude. Great job to all of you! I will definitely come visit again, I don't care that your location is about 1hr away, THIS SPOT IS WORTH IT. Please open one down south area in SD County.
