Fasted all day for this! It was my first time, came in and I love the set up for the dining area. Has a pretty decent spacious space to eat inside. Checking in on the menu took me a few minutes to make a choice. They had quite a few good options. I asked the employee what she would recommend for a person that will try something for the first time. She does recommend that the Super Torta that is the most popular sandwich in the shop. But I went with something a little bit lighter. I ordered a ham and cheese torta with a milanesa de pollo on the inside, my cheese selection was Monterey cheese. I added two of the house sauces into my sandwich, but I really loved the house sauce that was very light in spice. It had a really good taste and gave the sandwich lots of flavor. But if you like your food super spicy, I suggest you pick the spicy house salsa. That one was fire. When I got home and opened my torta, it was a pretty big decent size. It was enough to feed two people. The cost was about $17. Me and my sister split the sandwich and we absolutely loved it. I give it a 10 out of 10. The spot did not disappoint. The tortas are definitely the highlight of the choices and the more meat that they put in the better it is overall I would say it's a pretty good spot if you're hungry and want something for lunch. The combo option is pretty good. I would say that the Horchta was just OK and overall there is better options elsewhere so you can get your combo and get your other choices like a soda or a bottle of water. There is potential here. A spot that specializes in tortas is hard to come by in these parts, and my husband randomly gets in a torta mood, but we haven't found THEE spot yet. We arrived on a Friday night at about 8 pm, which is 30 minutes before close. There was another couple sitting in the dining area. My husband ordered the Super torta and I ordered the vegetarian torta, called the Light torta. We said we'd eat there, but wasn't expecting to wait 25 minutes for two tortas and fries. The other couple had received their food maybe 10-15 minutes after we placed our order and sat down. We didn't want to delay their close even more so we told them to switch it to go. We poured ourselves some salsa, which they have three kinds. By the time we got home, we took our bites. For me, a torta needs a good smothering of beans, and their beans are good! I think the roasted poblano in the Light torta could've been roasted longer because it was still a little raw. I enjoyed it with the habanero salsa. My husband enjoyed his torta at first, but realized with all the fried meats, it was dry. He added most of the red salsa and thought it made it better. Their skinny french fries weren't bad and thought the full meal was satisfying with my horchata. For a torta, this is not a bad option, and we may come back to try the chilaquiles torta. I heard about this place from SleeperTime's TikTok and had to check it out because I used to go to the spot that was here before years ago. First of all they have really updated the place. It's really nice and welcoming and super clean! The service was super friendly, helpful and we received our Tortas pretty quickly. I knew from the first bite of my Chicken Milanesa Torta it was going to be delicious and it really was. The bread is incredibly soft and the meat was so delicious. The space itself is comfy and bright. It is not very large, but it is perfect for a quick bite to eat. We ended up ordering the carne asada torta combo and the chorizo torta combo. The combos came with fries and a small salad, and for drinks we got a horchata and the cucumber lime agua fresca. When our food came out, it looked so delicious and you could tell everything was freshly made. The tortas were packed! It oozed so much deliciousness - carne asada (chorizo), cheese, avocado lettuce, tomatoes, onion, chipotle sauce and bean spread. It was a messy sandwich which is the best kind! Overall they were extremely tasty and very satisfying. The fries were thinly cut and also very good. The salad was just simple lettuce and tomatoes, so I probably would not order the salad again. The horchata was good, but I especially enjoyed the cucumber lime drink the most. Oceanside finally has a place that is specifically dedicated to the art of making Mexican sandwiches, a.k.a. Tortas. A "torta" is a Mexican sandwich, noted for its crusty white sandwich roll and overstuffed ingredients. Introducing Torta Time. I first heard about this gem in 2025 when they first opened. They are a small, family owned sandwich shop that is located off of Mission Avenu off of the 76 in Oceanside California. I had a great experience enjoying the Milanesa Bistek & the Breakfast Chorizo Torta. Although the inside is rather small, it is kind of cozy and great for a quick bite. But it is not a place I would go with a large group. I appreciate that they have free Wi-Fi and a clean bathroom. For being a sandwich shop, they have a pretty sizable menu. The service is fast and friendly, and it typically is not crowded if dining in. I love that they get their bread, especially made locally for them and that is especially important for their sandwiches flavor. The portion size is actually perfect for me and it is stuffed with whatever protein or flavor you desire. I especially love the flavor of my breakfast chorizo Torta. I can also appreciate that they use family recipes within their menu and also have a creamy pineapple Jell-O, which was very delicious as dessert. And I was really craving a good California burrito so I made my way in. Maybe it's because they specialize in torta sandwiches. But my worst fear was definitely true. Not only was the burrito super small, like ridiculously small. It lacked a lot of flavor. The meat was genuinely unsalted. I will say I really liked the outside tortilla and how fresh everything did taste. But I'm definitely never gonna be back to spend $16 on that small of a burrito and it not taste phenomenal. I feel like you have to either pick one, make a decent sized burrito and still charge a high price, or at least make it taste really flavorful. And since I didn't get either, I'm not gonna come back. The torta tasted fresh (personal preference for me, but I needed more seasoning), and the fries were delicious (because you can mess up fries, lol). This was an score average out of two different visits (if I could give a 4.5 I would) our first visit was on a Saturday there was a very nice gentleman taking our order and giving suggestions on what we should try. Doxed some points cause if you're gonna have us licking fingers like that we're gonna need some heavier duty napkins. I got the torta de chilaquiles which the sauce AMAZING, crudo level spicy but very good. You can get a grilled piece of meat included but I really wanted it with Milanesa which the gentleman happily obliged. Again a winner exactly what I wanted after craving la esquina del chilaquil in Mexico City. Now on to our second visit a Sunday, albeit a little busier than our previous visit with most tables occupied and much different customer service than our previous visit. The young lady was very quiet no smile no welcome in which hey we all have our off days! She took our order and that was it. We sat and waited at the table right next to the register. There was another couple and allegedly the man had received the incorrect order, there was a bit of back and forth which again, I understand sometimes customers are jerks but you have to choose your battles. The conversation ended with both the cashier and the customer blaming each other and a blunt "well that's on you" from the both of them. We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, we got our food and headed out. Since my last experience had been fantastic I had ordered the torta de chilaquil again and when I got home unfortunately that's not what I had gotten but instead the plate of chilaquiles.
