From my initial call to being connected with a home energy consultant, the team at Baker Home Energy was helpful, responsive, and professional. The process was smooth right from the beginning. Once I connected with my consultant, Cameron, things truly became spectacular. I had multiple questions and requested several different quotes to explore my options, and Cameron handled everything with patience, clarity, and speed. Every question was answered thoroughly, and each quote was provided promptly without hesitation. Although I didn't move forward with signing a contract due to timing on my end, the experience left a strong impression. When the time is right, I fully intend to work with Baker Home Energy because I know they'll be ready to do business. -C.S.H II

I had a 21-panel solar system installed by Baker Electric in March 2015 using LG280S1C-B3 panels…read more In February 2025, I received an Enphase notification that one panel had stopped producing power. I contacted Baker Electric expecting a straightforward warranty process since I was advised the panel was still under warranty. Instead, I was told the original panel model was no longer available and that I would be responsible for paying the cost difference for a newer replacement panel. I was also advised Baker Electric would charge approximately $1,600 just to come out and diagnose the failed panel. Then, after the replacement panel arrived, I was told there would be another approximately $1,600 charge to return and install the replacement panel into the existing array. So, from my understanding, even with a warranted failed panel, the total out-of-pocket cost to the customer could still be around $3,200+. I understand warranties can have limitations, especially regarding labor versus equipment, but this experience was surprising and not at all what I expected after investing in a professionally installed solar system from a well-known company. I'm posting this so other customers understand what they may encounter years later if a panel fails outside of any labor coverage window. I would strongly encourage anyone considering solar installation to carefully review all workmanship, diagnostic, service-call, and replacement labor terms before signing a contract.

We contacted G C Electric Solar to install solar panels on our newly purchased home. The owner,…read moreSepehr, was very responsive and helpful over text. Even though we didn't know our electric bill due to just moving in, he was able to give us a great estimate and provided reasoning why. They performed a virtual inspection Us, being paranoid, requested to add some additional panels to the system after we signed the contract. Sepehr was gracious and accommodating, and was able to make the changes for us even with the tight NEM 2.0 deadlines approaching. The install was smooth and took just a single day, and the quality of work is impeccable! Even after the install, he followed up and made sure that we were well taken care of. In fact, his original recommendation was more than enough, and there was no need for our changes. His wealth of experience and responsiveness was reassuring, especially to an industry I was not familiar with. Sepehr and G C Electric Solar get my highest recommendations.

The…read moreway my roof was configured limited the number of panels and how the panels could be oriented, however upon arrival the GCE installers were able to quickly reassess and change the design a bit to compensate for the roof penetration locations. The installation took one day, with provisioning taking a bit longer. Francis at GCE was understanding of the problems I was having with the Credit Union financing the deal, which resulted in a few delayed payments. GCE could have charged me late payment fees but they did not which I do appreciate. There were some delays in the installation timetable, which pushed the initial system in-service date into mid February, however looking back at the calendar there were a few compounding difficulties that were not the fault of GCE. I think the communication between GCE and myself could have been improved a bit, however the quality of the work I think makes up for it. I would work with them in the future for expanding my system or adding additional battery storage.

This is for those looking for a most excellent solar company that can do it all and do it in an…read moreabove and beyond way. It's also for those that desire a review/reflection well after install and activation. My project included: 18 panels, new power panel, new roof (they oversaw and managed it all). My system was operational January 2024. There's a ton of positive to say about Solar Symphony and Billy Pierce (rep I worked with). Here's some highlights that mattered to me: - Billy Pierce is truly a genuine great person and equally an attentive, hard working, meticulous professional. Ask for him if you decide to go with Solar Symphony. You won't regret it. - The cost was very reasonable. They were not the lowest cost, not the highest cost, but instead were very fair and competitive and there was no crap cost or or other unexpected surprise cost, and no goofy excuses for not meeting estimates or expectations throughout the project. If something extra needed to be done it was very clear and made perfect logical sense. - Solar Symphony oversaw all permits, applications, interactions with SDGE, and all scheduling for everything: inspections, installs, meetings, system design; the whole gamut, and provided excellent regular updates from Billy and more so the project manager overseeing the project. - Very Important: When something seemed off, or quality issue, or timing, or any irritation occurred, which is reasonably normal for all projects, especially the size of mine, Solar Symphony was all over it and very happy to step right in to bring order, correction, or reasonable accommodation to the situation. Billy was sooo good for this. One example was with the roofing company they work with/recommended not cleaning up scrap metal and nails as well as I would have desired. Billy put in a call and the roofing folks were out there to make correction. By the way, the roofing company was really excellent too; I went with Protecta Roofing. - I paid one company, which was so nice; Solar Symphony was only company I paid, as they coordinated and handled billing/invoicing for their work, roofing, electrical panel upgrade...all of it. Again, so, so nice! I like to keep it simple and work with one company if possible. - Solar Symphony ensured I was clear on and able to easily identify my available tax credits, which was huge. - Post system activation: awesome follow-up from Billy and team to ensure expectations were met, or exceeded in many cases, and that I understood how to activate and monitor via the Enphase phone app, which is easy and convenient. The system has been meeting power production expectations and humming along just as described from the pre-sale discussions. So nice to be on perfectly working solar! I hope this is helpful, as I could truly go on about the great service and system performance but I need to go eat dinner...lol. Good luck and do yourself a solid and closely consider the info I've provided.

I'd happily recommend Solar Symphony to anyone looking for solar.

Review Update: After…read moremy initial review, Eric (the sales rep) and Matt (the owner) of Sunline personally reached out to me and was apologetic about the situation. They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

First and foremost Gabe at Aloha Solar was the ONLY one where it didn't feel sales pitchy. He went to college for this, believe he grew up off grid on Maui and you can tell right away he's knowledgeable and a straight shooter. Not to mention he had the best pricing and deal out of every other company! Gabe made us feel comfortable with our decision, gave us all the information we wanted, and actually drove out to our house multiple times to chat when we had additional questions and concerns. Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. I did, and he then painted all of the piping! I know he did not have to do that, so that was a fantastic touch. If you're thinking about solar, trust me, I did the research and I spoke to all of the sales people. GO WITH ALOHA! You will NOT be disappointed. Thanks to Gabe and the team!

I have to say, I can be a very particular person; I want things done a certain way, specifically when it comes to aesthetics. I really like things to blend in, so when I saw them installing the mounts, I quickly asked Gilberto if we could paint them to match. Without hesitation, he said, "Of course we can," and got it done immediately. What they did next was truly over the top. The team noticed some parts of my roof needed quick maintenance and, without me even asking, they fixed them! They even painted a roof vent that wasn't related to the solar panels just so everything would match perfectly. Kasha and Gilberto did an amazing job, but their customer service is what has me recommending this company to everyone. Even the owner, Gabe, really impressed me. I am so glad I went with them. Thank you, team--this was hands down the BEST VALUE out there!
