Stopped by San Pedro Square Market after getting picked up from the San Jose airport. It has a bunch of different eateries and reminded me a little of Grand Central Market in LA. I was craving homemade pasta, so I stopped at Pasta Fresca and got the chicken parmigiana with homemade penne. I really liked the tomato sauce -- not too sweet, with a nice tart flavor that paired well with the breaded chicken. It was the perfect portion for a quick lunch. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so it's a nice place to sit and relax for a bit. They also have plenty of tables that would be great for studying, computer work, or just reading. Huge props to San Pedro Square, the city of San Jose, and the San Jose Earthquakes for making the 2026 World Cup so fun and exiting for the city! I went to the Canada vs. South Africa game on a Sunday, so the vibes and crowds were very chill and not too crowded at all. There was plenty of room on the street, and I also liked how there were so many other areas and screens inside the market and also in their patio, so you're not just limited to the street outside. Really cool that you can get drinks to go and enjoy them outside. The flow can be a bit confusing though, there's certain sidewalks and ramps you need to take to get to certain restaurants and buildings. You also can't take outside food into the Market itself (including drinks). Will definitely try to go back for more games before this ends for good! read more

2026 WORLD CUP WATCH PARTY "TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS" Whenever there was a World Cup I would go to pubs to drink, eat, and watch. Since the USA was co-hosting the 2026 World Cup along with Mexico and Canada I wanted to see if there was a World Cup watch party worth going to. San Jose is the perfect city in the Bay Area to watch the World Cup as the Earthquakes play there. After searching on the web, San Jose Earthquakes were hosting World Cup watch parties at San Pedro Square Market. The first game I attend for the World Cup watch party was USA-Paraguay. I have a stake on this game. I bought three games at Levi's Stadium for the World Cup including the Round of 32 with the first-place winner of Group D, which USA is in. I waited in anticipation for this 6:00 PM game. I was amazed to witness USA ahead 3-0 at halftime. The second half I was concerned when Paraguay scored, but at the end USA won 4-1. With this result I was 50% sure the USA would finish first in Group D. People celebrated and danced after USA won. I knew I had to come back to San Pedro Square Market. The second USA game I watched here was against Australia on Juneteenth. The day after USA beat Paraguay, Australia shockingly beat Turkey 2-0. The stage was set. USA would move to the Round of 32 if they beat Australia. At halftime USA was ahead 2-0. The game ended with that final score. I was 90% sure USA would finish first in their group. (Later that night Turkey lost to Paraguay that resulted USA finishing first in Group D.) The scenes at San Pedro Square Market were great after the USA's wins with the DJ playing hip hop songs the crowd danced to. However I want to make a request to the DJ. At Seattle after USA beat Australia John Denver's song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" was played inside the stadium with the fans singing. Please DJ to get the crowd hype for the next USA games play "Take Me Home, Country Roads". I guarantee the attendees at San Pedro Square Market will make the atmosphere the loudest World Cup watch party in the Bay Area. read more

Definitely did not like the area. It's so crowded. Don't try to even park with their App. I got a ticket for trying to pay on the App and it didn't go through. Sure, this place has lots of great area to visit - if you're not driving. Definitely more places/restaurants to explore. read more

A friend recommended I stop by here before a San Jose Sharks game. It was my first hockey game so this whole experience was a new one for me. Parking is $10 in a nearby garage (a popular parking place for an event at SAP center). This market was huge and had so many restaurants. Anything from desserts to drinks and all types of food. Because we were there before a game and it was a Saturday, there were so many people there. One area seemed to be more popular than the other building (where there was a bar). There was also an outdoor area with a live band playing. Food here isn't the best you can find in the city, it just does the job in a pinch. It's a popular place to hang out as well especially for families. Pros: parking is affordable and there's plenty of options for food and drinks. I like the variety there is available. There's something for everyone. Cons: there was plenty of seating but because the sheer amount of people, seating was hard to find. read more

We got matcha ice cream after at the 2nd building in the market. Can't recall the last time I came here... possibly 12 years ago!! It has changed so much, it's bigger and more seatings available. There's security guards everywhere. My friend said they are strict with outside drinks (even water bottle containers). Bars have water stations. Lots of options to choose from. I love the bars and that you can take your drink outside. Too bad it was raining off and on, so we moved to a table inside. Great for large meet ups! We got food from the pizza place and the tacos. Along with the many bars. Good for kids in the daytime. I know at night it gets crowded and rowdy. Pre drinkers come here then to the club, or that was at least in 2008, lol. Parking was under construction but I think 2 hours were free then you pay every half hour. Street parking was better if you constantly go out to update it if over your time limit. read more

San Pedro Market is a fun spot to grab dinner and drinks with friends. On a Friday night, the line for the parking garage was insane; I think my friends spent 30 minutes trying to get into the garage and park. I'm glad I was getting dropped off and didn't have do deal with it. If you're coming at a crowded time, I would recommend parking on the street a couple blocks away instead. I saw a couple spots available as we were driving up. The market itself was popping on Friday night, with long lines at a lot of spots. It was my first time here, so first I walked around first to familiarize myself with the options and get a sense of the selection. There are two buildings, so make sure you check out both. The other building felt much quieter and more like a food court, but there was a good amount of seating across both buildings. I chose to get some fried seafood at Anchors as there was no line there and I was starving, so fried seafood and chowder sounded amazing. Got one of the platters with fried fish, shrimp, and scallops from Anchor and it really hit the spot. Only the fries were meh. I expected them to be more flavorful given that they're seasoned, but they weren't. I would also skip the clam chowder next time, as it was some of the blandest clam chowder I've ever had. I loved the vibes here. There was everyone from couples to big groups of friends and everyone looked like they were having a good time. read more

I absolutely love San Pedro Square Marketplace. The energy, the layout, the food options... Everything is great. It works incredibly well for groups and gatherings because people can wander and grab whatever food sounds good to them and then regroup outside to talk and enjoy the atmosphere and each other's company. There's an impressive variety of vendors. I was hoping to grab a tea at Urban Ritual on my last visit but I was sad to see that they are no longer here. They will be missed but there are still lots of choices so that nobody feels like their options are limited. The outdoor space is great with plenty of seating and it's kept clean. There are sunny spots and shady spots and busier areas great for people watching and calmer areas tucked away for quiet contemplation. It's like a community gathering space and a food hall all-in-one. It's also really dog friendly, outside anyway. I always have my dog with me and it takes the stress away to go somewhere where I know she will be welcome and comfortable. If you need to run inside to order food or use the restroom you can have someone watch your pup but there are also some restrooms outside too if you needed to bring your fur baby with you. Great food options, great atmosphere and one of the better communal spaces I've come across. I definitely recommend I stop here. read more

Definitely better than SoFa Market, but a farther walk away from Fanime, however if you wan to make the trek it's more worth it. However with this in mind, it was much more fisted with normies and not as many con goers since it's farther away than the con. So you will get stares if you are in cosplay. Also, it is MUCH busier (it looked like misery for people trying to get parking). There's indoor seating and some outdoor seating but even in May with the wind blowing outside in the evening it was frigid cold. You gotta hawk and swoop into the seats when they're free or just have 1 person camp there when you have a food runner ordering food. I think there's outdoor music playing but I think that's the business next door. There's some historical murals, models, and other tidbits of information around the market hall which is nice. Some of the businesses have mobile order where you can order in advance and then pick up when it's ready. This is much more accurate than the businesses that I ran into at SoFa Market, which is nice. If you order in person, likely you will get a buzzer and wait for your food to be ready. When we were here we got drinks and food from Urban Momo and Urban Ritual, truly the urban perfect duo. read more

San Pedro Square Market has a few food vendors including the bar. It was many people when I got there and is hot here as well. It sits right next to its parking garage where patrons can come by here to eat. It's a very nice area where you can dine and hangout. They even have a stage where performers can sing in front of the audience. It seems that many people come to Downtown SJ for this location, because while I was walking around, there's not that many people until I came to this market. They even have a water dispenser so that you don't have to ask for water from any food vendor. read more

Don't go here for World Cup watch party. It's a disorganized mess. No family entertainment area and the giant screen tv's are on a narrow street, so if you have kids they won't be able to see anything because the tv is low to the ground and people are standing. Most of the booths there didn't have much going on. Could not find any FIFA store selling things either. read more

I love the space, and the ambiance but the restaurants are just mid tier. I understand from a business sense that you don't want outside food using the beautiful space, but the guards have been given strict direction to hover and force you to put up your food if you bring any outside food in, or even deny you access. With such negative vibes and lackluster food inside, it makes it hard to actually spend much time here unless there's an event that you've been invited to. This is a very nice and centralized gathering area with many food and beverage options. It is a great place to hang out with friends and family where you can chat it up until the end of time, or at least until they close. The weather was nice so the outdoor space can be enjoyed when we visited and we were able to try a few of the food places. We parked via street and it could be a little difficult however we really enjoyed our time walking the square and people watch and taking a look at all the different vendors that are housed inside the square. San Jose Downtown needed this slice of secret heaven! Actually every town needs this!! Walk through what seems to be a food court.... And to out Surprise an outdoor beer and wine garden under the trees with a live band playing!!! What!?!? So many seats, tables, picnic tables for families and groups too! Omg the ambience was so fun, family friendly and there was a zing in the air! Then after that walk through another set Of doors into another food court! This is a very appealing place to come walk around and get good eats. They offer a lot of various cuisines and they have a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Parking garage is very close by and you can get the market fairly quickly. At night outdoor seating is very relaxing and well lit. They have police and security around as well for safety. The quality if the food was incredible- we tried the Indian, Indo Chinese, pizza, Cajun seafood and tacos. The cocktails were $25 - slightly on the higher side. My husband and I drove to San Jose last night to see Billie Eilish at the SAP Center and decided to check out San Pedro Square Market for dinner. I have only been here 1 other time and it was many moons ago. We walked around and checked out the different food places - they offer seafood, Philly Cheesesteaks, burgers, pizza, Mexican, Peruvian, Nepalese, Korean, pasta and even gelato! We also checked out the Market Beer Co., where my husband got a bottled Pliny The Elder. We decided on PHONOMENAL for some dinner and it was pretty good. The pricing was fair - I think I paid around $26 not including tip for 2 food items and a drink. The service was a bit odd though, as they only have kiosks that you order at so you really don't interact with the people at PHONOMENAL until your food is ready for pick-up. They have a giant menu that even blocks the kitchen so can't see what they're doing behind the counter. I love that they have tons of seating throughout 2 different buildings as well a lot of outdoor seating. It's like one giant food hall and I can see how this place can be very packed on the weekends! Parking around here is supremely easy, with several lots nearby with the first 90 minutes free. After that, you pay, but it isn't much. There's a variety of restaurants located in San Pedro Square Market and they are all squarely just...okay! Ive had the pasta place twice and its pretty pricey, we got burgers once and for triple the price of in n out, it wasn't worth it. There is one boba tea place that my friends enjoy, and when we're there the bar is hardly ever open. Plenty of seating inside and out but on weekends expect to wander around a bit before finding a location that fits your party. They even have some weekend music which is fairly enjoyable, if you dont mind how loud it can get with the outside seating. Lots of cute dogs to say hello to! And the service workers work really hard to clean off the tables and get them ready for future groups. Each time ive been there, its always pretty clean because of the hard working staff! read more
