Mas Loco Cantina in downtown San Jose has decent food and a fun atmosphere, but it's definitely more of a party spot. The food was good, but the music and noise level were much louder than I prefer, making it hard to have a relaxed conversation. This place is probably great if you're looking for a lively night out, but it wasn't the right fit for me. Giving it 3 stars since the food was solid, but the overall vibe was a little too energetic for my taste.

My sister and I came to watch the opening match of the World Cup here and I was quite impressed with how many screens there were, how much seating is inside and the vibes were great. The food was ok, nothing to rave about but it did its job. The nachos I liked I just feel like a different cheese would have been better. The service was great and I would come back again for sure.

This is the Dj booth and Dance floor area.

Best Sports Bar / Reasturant for all sporting events. There isn't a bad steat in the house!. Make sure to make a reservation in advance for all big sporting events. The Food is Great!!! We always get Nachos Birria Tacos Ceviche Pizza and Burgers.

Came here to watch UFC319 over the weekend cuz Rookies across the street wasn't streaming it that night. Pleasantly surprised how this became an option. No cover at the door, plenty of seating by the time the main card started at 7pm, and a very lively atmosphere. Servers were very active and friendly. Love how many TV's they had. Didn't love how the DJ played music for the whole card minus the main event. I get it --- it's a clubby bar first, not a sports bar. But hey, I'm tryna hear the commentary here, not house remixes of 2000s music. Plenty of food options, but we just stuck with loaded tots to snack alongside our drinks. They have fun sweet cocktails. The Blood In Blood Out was very tasty. Could be more stiff, but enjoyable. Weird how they were all out on 2 of 8 beer options. Take out the nasty IPAs and I'm only left with 4 basic options. Crowd was lively and chill. Everyone kinda kept to their own table. Didn't feel pressured to order a bunch more. Would stop by again but maybe for a less important fight card. 3/5

Such a vibe. Mas loco has great food, good drinks and an overall cool spot to hang with friends: it can get pretty loud and there's a dj/almost turns into a lounge the later it gets (security and all). Def worth a visit

Came here for mothers day lunch on Sunday and the restaurant wasn't as busy as expected but it was nice. Ambiance of they place is a club/ casual fun restaurant vibes they played great music had me dancing in my seat a little. Beautiful art and a great place to take pictures. Kid friendly during the day for sure. Service was amazing the waitress was sweet and made sure we had everything we needed and handled our big table perfectly. I had a michilada and it was delicious. The flautas had birria and was very tasty definitely will have again also had the loaded tots with asada and ooh man as an appetizer it's a meal on it own but still very tasty they're basically nachos but just with tater tots this appetizer is for sure shareable.

I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and had a blast! The food and drinks were delicious, and the DJ was playing plenty of R&B and Bay Area music. The nachos and guacamole were the same dish prepared 2 different ways, but still so yummy. The steak was grilled to perfection. The palomas were super yummy too, and served up with fresh grapefruit slices. Our server was checking in on us constantly, and service was quick. I'd highly recommend this spot for a fun brunch with friends; my only gripe was that it wasn't open for much later (they close at 3pm), but otherwise it was still a great spot!

Had some friends in town so I brought them to my favorite Thursday night spot. We were able to catch happy hour. We ordered tacos, wings and of course their amazing nachos!! The drinks were good too. My friends loved the ambiance and the vibe and MLC did not disappoint!!

Came here for date night with my husband and waited for our food for 50 minutes. Came on a Friday night for dinner and got sat immediately. It wasn't busy at all. Our server took some time getting to us. We ordered the guacamole with beef chicharron and the medium carne asada pizza and my husband got a tom collins to drink. The food was decent but $19 for some guac and charred steak bits seemed like a lot. The pizza was also good, with a fluffy crust but they forgot the guac. Food was decent but service was SLOW. We were told in advance when ordering the pizza that it usually takes about 20 minutes to make, no problem since we had the guac. Guac took 20 minutes to get out. After about 40 minutes of waiting and seeing other tables getting food our server told us she would check on our pizza, she went back and then started rushing everywhere. I believe she forgot to place our order. We waited for another 10 and finally got it, missing the guac. The menus are dirty, as seen in the photos, and the restrooms aren't the cleanest either. This is clearly a place you go just for drinks because they are clearly not capable of handling a kitchen(20 minutes for guac, 50 minutes for pizza, and 5 minutes for a drink.) What was meant to be a quick dinner turned into 2 hours. Over $60 for an app, pizza, and 1 drink.

This is definitely a great addition to downtown San Jose. I thought it would be difficult finding a place to park, but I parked right across the street. Walking in to the restaurant this place was very vibrant from the art on walls to all the lights I love it ! They have so many TV's this will definitely be a hot spot for sport ls watching. They have a DJ on the weekends we had a blast dancing after our dinner . It's a vibe and the ambience is key . The food was so good we ordered Jalapeño Poppers, Artichoke dip, and Tacos .I want to say that the tortillas were made in house because they tasted very fresh. The drinks were very delicious I tried a basil drink, and also the Painkiller . Another thing I really enjoyed that night everyone was very nice and attentive from the moment I got greeted at the door till the end of the night. Everyone was super nice. Overall we had a great time I can't wait to go back .

The avocado toast was recommended by our server but this was sooooo mid

The music was really loud and I couldn't hear the conversation of the person with me so the Asian bartender helped us turn down the music a little. It wasn't until mid evening that I realized there was another bar in the back. The bartender told us the cocktails at Alter Ego were more fancy. Definitely instagramworthy! Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. The music at still OG that they were playing at the time wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure they mix it up from time to time. I would love to hear some oldies!

All cocktails are on tap, which actually ended up being great because I was between a few of them and the bartender was able to give me samples of them. We also ended up getting an order of the Chicken skewers, which were super tender and juicy. We were too late on our visit, but they do have a daily happy hour that includes some of the skewers and fries, as well as some drinks and shots. The kitchen is open and you can appreciate the chefs working on their open wood fired grills and pizza ovens, because if which there is a faint, woody, aromatic fragrance in the restaurant. The staff is polite and courteous. They left a signed note on the table for my husband's birthday which was a sweet gesture. For the drinks, we started with the jean claude pandan, pandan being the my husband's current favorite ingredient in food and drinks. I had the drink with dill, which the server warned me about being centered around the flavor if pickles (which I am personally fond of). The pandan drink was a light and refreshing highball and I found the dill cocktail to be creamy and delicious, but didn't really leave me with a sour aftertaste. For food, we went with the drip trio platter which came with fresh pita bread pieces, and the drip trio of hummus with roe on top, chilled tzatziki, and muhammara. Then we moved on to the oysters which were fresh, will a dressing of an herb oil of some sort. They also had a complementary palette cleanser in between which was a shot of watermelon and orange juice. For maincourse, my husband went for the tagliatelle and I chose the ravioli, both choices were corroborated by our server to be the right ones to go for. The tagliatelle is expensive because of the lobster and caviar that it comes with. However, the pasta is delicious and comes in a decadent sauce. Not a lot of lobster pieces though. The ravioli had a robust mushroom flavor and came with a light sauce of mushrooms, crispy fried shallots, and pine nuts. We skipped dessert because we were pretty full already. Would definitely recommend this place for a cozy dinner out but it's quite expensive so might not be a place to go to frequently.

We quickly learned that it's actually closer to $40 since you need to buy a $14-17 mocktail/cocktail. I'll be honest, I don't drink that much so I can't tell you if that's expensive but it does feel like a bit of a bait and switch. We ordered truffle fries, koji wings, the classic burger and two prime rib dinners. All of the food arrived at different times so some of it was already cold before we started eating. I know we could start eating whatever comes out first but let's be honest. Dining with friends is a very social event and it's somewhat standard for dishes to arrive together. I also ordered subbed truffle fries, was charged the sub, but ended up getting regular fries Food-wise, the koji wings were pretty good. There was a good amount of seasoning and the breading texture was super crispy. The meat itself was a bit bland. Truffle fries were super crunchy and had a balanced truffle flavor. Burger was fine. I've definitely had and made better burgers before. It was a pretty standard burger. Cooked good. A bit overpriced for how mild of a burger it was though. Prime rib was a huge portion. I only had a couple bites from my friends but it seemed well-seasoned. Some parts were nice and tender but the red parts were very chewy. Overall, main dishes were OK in portion but lackluster in experience. Side portions are on the smaller end considering their price but generally delicious. Considering their extensive alcohol collection, I think this place is definitely known for its vibe and drinks rather than its food. Staff seem super friendly though! Especially the bartenders
