Not sure where to even start. Bought a 2020 Sport Explorer from a salesman name Rex. Although Rex was a decent ( honest for a car salesmen) man, this dealership is horrible. After getting the car home late on a Sunday night my wife noticed a scratch on the door. This vehicle had just been unloaded off the transport carrier and most likely was scratched that way. The dealership had us bring the car back so they could send in to their body shop to have it repaired. Three weeks later we received it back. After receiving it back, we had a loud rattle in the same door that was scratched . Took it back to the dealership and after them having for the day, they found a bolt had come off and was jammed inside the door causing the rattle. Now, the same door the window lining is coming off, a brand new 55k car and all these issues. The dealership tells us they have to order a new lining for the door. Ok, cool..... three months goes by and I hear nothing! Granted this was back in Jan. So we cannot blameCOVID. We have since traded the car in with only 2300 miles on it for a new GMC truck. We saw a truck online on Friday night, My husband spoke to someone who said it was there and we could come look at it. We went on Saturday and when we got there we let them know what truck it was. The sales guy comes back with a mgr I believe and he proceeds to tell us that the truck was not sold but... one of the Mgr took it to Payson to go golfing with the owner so it wasn't there ??? Service Dept. I have bought two vehicles from STF. I am a big advocate for getting work done at a dealership to help preserve the integrity of the vehicle. With that being said however, the service dept does not know their a$$ from their elbow. Since August of 2020 up to today Cracked side panel needing replacement Paint defect (Bubbling) Tire Sensor Error Seatbelt Tear Motor Mounts Roof Rack Defect Read suspension defects And now more bubbling paint Cars are depreciating items and require maintenance ....I get that. What I don't understand is why it is almost always a struggle to get issues remedied. Depending on who you talk to, your issue could be seen as under warranty or not, customer service oriented or not, and when you have as many problems as I have with a vehicle, I sure do appreciate when I get a Service Advisor that will follow up, get you a rental, apologize for taking an entire day instead if an hour or two by filling up your tank, and getting things done as you'd expect. I wish there was consistency and transparency with ST Ford, but there just isn't. Their bottom line is to charge you so they don't have to foot the bill, and they will work hard at searching for loopholes to make that happen. read more

Save yourself $5k! Let me walk out the door after asking for their lowest price and returning with the exact same price as was on the windshield. Bought a vehicle here previously and will not be returning. It's bad enough the $5k market adjustment is being used and goes straight into the dealerships pockets...if you order a car, I was told there is no market adjustment...so a pure $5k profit for the dealership that Ford is NOT charging. *UPDATE* Robertos response was followed up with ~5 days of fumbling back and forth by a couple different sales folks. Finally spoke with the general sales manager today and was not willing to do anything either. So expect to pay sticker + $5k market adjustment here with no negotiation. From Dream to Nightmare! Worst experience I have ever had! "Service Mgr" JD Denton is rude, dismissive, displayed blatent disregard for customer service and/or satisfaction! Sales team will lie and say ANYTHING to get the sale. Finance Dept totally unhelpful ..turned entire agreement around from what was initially presented and agreed upon. Leaving the customer in an unpleasant uncomfortable embarrassing situation and they have no regard! Do not allow their nice smiles and friendly atmosphere to fool you they are vultures! I went here 20 days ago to have my car serviced and was tricked into participating in a "pilot" program where they will take you out of your current vehicle and put you into a newer vehicle with the payment that will be slightly the same. This is what I was sold and told but believe you me when it came down to the fine print this is not what they were trying to get me to accept. After 20 days of not getting a return call after leaving voicemails for the finance department I had not heard anything about my loan being finalized so I finally called the dealership to get somebody's attention when I was finally told oh we can't get you financed unless you accept a higher APR with a higher payment initially the deal they offered me for the 3.9% APR they offered me 4000 more on my trade-in than I owed and I would have a payment of 479. well 20 days later and after having damn near yelling to get someone to call me back they call me and tell me oh we cant get you approved at what we offered.. the APR is now 15% with payment of $616!! .. The sales manager who called me JD Denton talked to me and treated me as if I had done something to them at their dealership as if I was the one who tricked them into this fake deal as if I had done something against them he was very rude he cut me off he had no empathy he was just very matter of fact.. bring us our car back or take this deal. I went car shopping with my mom this afternoon. I went with her because I had a feeling some sleazy salesman would look at her and see easy prey. Yep. She wanted to look at a Ford Fusion, and I had seen 2 online at San Tan that were the best priced in the area, so over here we went. The first guy that helped us (I don't remember his name, but he rides a motorcycle) was very nice and not pushy at all. We spent most of his time looking for these 2 vehicles that were shown online. Unfortunately, he had an appointment, so he sent Harry out to us. About this time was when I figured out that the 2 cars were right in front of us... But marked up significantly. One that was $13,600 online was at $17,000. When I pointed this out to Harry, he looked... displeased. He admitted that was his lowest price but that they like to try to make more so there's the $17,000 window sticker. I find this bait-n-switch to be scummy business practice. Most annoying salesman ever. He would not shut up about all the most minute features of the car. My mom doesn't care about nitrogen in her tires. He spent 2 full minutes going over the radio with her. The man went a little too crazy on the old sales advice about repeating your customers name. During the test drive, he instructed her to stop in the middle of the road. Straight. Up. Stop. To flip a u-turn. When he did this, there was a massive truck behind us at 40 mph... I prefer my car shopping nightmare to not come with an additional side of vehicular manslaughter. However, Harry had already 100% lost any chance of a sale when he had her sit in the car to do 10 minutes worth of his recitation, and left me in the hot sun. I wandered away to look at other cars, but kept returning to walk right past his window/in front of them to hint at "Hey maybe you should remember the third person". Nope. He finally opened the door and asked if I wanted to join them in the car... She told me later she had to pointedly ask where I was. Not only was there an extreme lack of effort for negotiations on the dealerships end, but the new "sales manager" Geronimo, treated me like I wasn't worth the time of day as not only a serious customer, but a repeat customer at that. My daughter recently purchased a vehicle from this location and was not treated with respect or dignity. She is a recently widowed, single mother who was treated unfairly and with disrespect. She was bullied, harassed, and then sold products for the vehicle that were not needed. There were also issues with the vehicle after she left the dealership that needed attention and when she called on then, she got no return calls or assistance. It was not till she gave a 1-star review did she receive a return phone call and then she was laughed at by management of the same dealership. As a father and fellow salesperson, I find this behavior appalling and I advised my child to not only seek legal representation but also file a complaint with Ford. Customer satisfaction at San Tan Ford is not important and they should be ashamed for hiring a finance manager that takes advantage of a single mother. read more

After crunching final numbers for my auto purchase they take me into the financial office to sign papers. It's like buying a house with all the documents to buy a car. Anyway, the actual loan document had a charge of $800 additional for a GPS tracker I never asked for! The advisor told me every sale at San Tan Ford gets one. They don't tell you this prior, they just add it on. I told them I wasn't paying for something I never agreed to repeatedly. The advisor knocks the price down by half. A year after my purchase I get a call to renew my subscription for the GPS installed in my car that I never asked for and now this annual dues. I'm furious again now about this GPS and go to San Tan Ford to discuss this matter. The Sales Manager explains the GPS and it's charges are always a factor per sale; however, they don't tell you this at the time or it's annual subscription cost. I requested it be removed and a refund and the Sales Manager says my option was to not buy the car when I noticed the extra charge that they don't notify you of!!! I want everyone to know of this scam before they decide to purchase. At least you'll know of that charge before signing papers, something I never had the courtesy of. read more

Very corrupt business. I paid to have my vehicle inspected by San Tan Ford and got a clean bill of health. I then had transmission work done by them and all of a sudden had a massive leak worth $1400.00. Somehow missed during the inspection (scam). I fought to have the price reduced and ended up paying less. When I got my vehicle back I learned they lost my license plate! I was told by management to go drive my car with no plate and get a new one. Ford would graciously reimburse me the cost of the plate. Just the cost for the plate but not my time and inconvenience. Ford did not see an issue with me driving without a plate on the vehicle. Again another major fight to have them give me a rental so I could waist a day at the MVD. They did not feel like they needed to make this right. Very rude condescending staff. Beware they will rip you off and then treat you like garbage. On October 10th we went into San Tan Ford to get a larger vehicle. My family is expanding to 6 and I needed more space than my Escape could hold. I worked with my sales agent Sam and he worked some magic and got me into a brand new Ford Explorer. The deal was tough because I was 22,000 upside down on my Escape as I only had it for 7 months. The finance team put in a lot of work and made our deal possible. I live by the saying expect the unexpected. I drove around in this amazing vehicle for two weeks nervous that something was going to go wrong... but it was all in my head. They told me multiple times they'd make it work and they sure did. Find somewhere else at all costs! I used to be a very loyal customer here and over the years the service and sales departments have just done straight into the trash. Even with an appointment you wait at least 4 hours for any service to be done, even the basic of oil changes you wait hours and every time you ask for a status update it's always "it's almost done". I purchased my 2020 EcoSport here a year ago and while going through my paperwork in my glove box I realized that I was sold a used car without anyone disclosing that information to me before purchasing. Granted, the car was used twice as a rental, but had I known that 2 previous people had used my "new" car I would have definitely argued the price down significantly. Really disappointed with San Tan Ford after this mess and really wish they would have just been honest from the get go. I feel very used and taken advantage of considering I was already put in an upsetting situation when my car I ended up trading in was undriveable leading me to have to buy a new car and this is the result? My wife and I were shopping for a new vehicle and decided to go to San Tan Ford as they had the Explorer we were looking for. As a member of Disabled American Veterans I get Ford's X-plan which reduces the price of the vehicle. So we went in, and talked to salesman and presented him with my PIN number from Ford. He treated us very nicely and we settled on a vehicle and price. When we went to financing the customer rep then gave us a price $7000 MORE than what agreed upon!!! I said to him that I knew about taxes, title and licensing fees but what was the extra? He informed us it was due to $4800 of add-ons! I asked "What add-ons? We were not informed of any add-ons." He said they were a GPS System, "Desert Protection" package and etching for theft protection. I told him no, we don't want the GPS System because the FordPass app has GPS. And we didn't want the other stuff, did they have the same vehicle without it? He informed us that they do the protection and etching as soon as the cars arrive. So, I then informed him we didn't want the vehicle and we were leaving. He then tried to convince up by lowering prices on the add-ons. By then, I didn't want to do business with them and left. As the local Ford dealer they not only represent themselves as a dealer and service center, they represent Ford Motor Company as a whole. Long story long, we had to sell our 2016 Ford Fusion with 69,096 miles on it for $1200.00 to a wholesale "junker" company today due to a vavle failure causing a need for a complete engine replacement. We replacement the engine via our extended warranty (purchased with the new car) due to a known problem with the 1.5 Eco Boost engine the Ford Motor Company issued a service bulletin on a little over 2 years ago at 55,000 miles. The car was purchased new from San Tan Ford. During the whole process we had zero support from San Tan Ford or Ford Motor Company and was told all along this will be an out of pocket expense, $9,000.00! I will never service another vehicle at San Tan Ford, I have had 3 Ford F150's for work trucks, and put 1000 miles per week on them, and we will never buy a new Ford vehicld again even though our family has been buying Fords in AZ and WI for over 50 years. I have never been more frustrated with a 100% paid of vehicle thinking you will use it for 3-5 more years only to sell it for $1200.00, where in good working order we could sell it for $12,000.00 based on current miles. read more

We received a flyer in the mail with a trade-in offer for our truck. I was reassured via email from an actual salesperson that the number was legitimate. My husband gets there and was told the ad company got all the offers wrong, and the amount offered was $23k lower than what was on the flyer. Not only that, but a new F150 is actually about $10k HIGHER than what's listed as MSRP on the website thanks to dealer markup. So, no thanks, we'll pass. We'd let it go, but now we got another flyer WITH THE SAME OFFER. C'mon, guys. The absolute WORST experience..makes me mad I have to give them one star but the first guy in the lot was nice and low pressure so I guess he deserves some credit - but that's where it ends! If you want to waste your time trying to buy an overpriced used car and enjoy dealing with inexperienced and immature sales people then this is the place for you. Justin was argumentative and really deceptive, tried to fast talk us and add on a bunch of options that were actually already done to the truck with the first owner. Wouldn't back off even when I pulled up the carfax and showed him - why would I pay twice? Buyer Beware! Didn't value our trade at all said it would go straight to auction - no one even went to look at it although it was a late model BMW go figure. Justin came running out as we were in our car leaving and begged us to come back in but it was pathetic and insulting. We went elsewhere and got a great deal on a better truck and no BS. Complained to the GM but that did no good at all- then I saw the same truck reduced $2000 still on the lot a few weeks later - glad I walked. The WORST experience I have ever had at a dealership. I received a few letters in the mail about an airbag recall on my 2010 Mustang and it recommended I contact a local dealer to setup the free service. My car has some aftermarket components and I've been fooled into San Tan Ford's scammy service department tricks in the past so I wanted to be super up-front and clear when I brought my vehicle in this time. I called ahead to setup a service appointment and let the girl on the phone know that my vehicle has aftermarket airbag suspension and a supercharger. She assured me that since they are a Roush dealer that they work with aftermarket components all the time and that my vehicle would be fully covered since this a national Ford recall for the airbag. When I dropped off the vehicle my service adviser Robert Pence didn't walk around the vehicle and take note of any damage, like I had been used to having done in the past. I was very thorough and clear with how the airbag suspension works with the controller and that the wheels cannot turn more than 90% as the over sized tires will hit the side skirts. The next day I got the call that my vehicle was done and headed down to pick it up. Robert told me to head over to cashier to sign the paperwork and I'd be all set. I took a look at the paperwork and noticed that they wanted me to sign saying I'm picking up the vehicle in satisfactory condition even though I had not seen the work that had been completed on the car yet. I asked the cashier to have the vehicle brought up so that I could check everything out before signing. The employee that went and retrieved the vehicle came flying up into the service bay, definitely faster than he should have been and when he pulled the vehicle into the spot in front of me he didn't have the car's suspension aired up enough, and ended up breaking both my front fenders and then ripping my side skirt off of the vehicle. I was in shock to watch my vehicle incur such damage not even five feet away from me. The employee got out of the vehicle and took a look at what had happened and didn't even say a word to me. No apology or anything. Robert was called out from his desk and he then involved his manager Leslie. They both came out and assured me that they would get everything taken care of. Robert took a little plastic clip and pushed my broken side skirt back into place and told me it would be totally fine to drive home. He said to email him all the information for the aftermarket fender and side skirt and that he'd handle it. The following business day I headed down to a collision body shop in Tempe to have an estimate invoice created. I emailed Robert that night with all the information and the invoice. He replied the next day letting me know that I would need to get an estimate from Southwest Collision Center since that's a shop that they deal with. If I would have known this the day before I would've went there first! I then had to drive me vehicle back out to Tempe and take a half a day off of work to get another estimate for Robert. This body shop was nearly an hour away from my house. Once I submitted this new invoice Robert let me know he would talk to his manager Leslie and get back to me. The next day he emailed me letting me know that I could bring the car down to Southwest to be repaired. I then called Leslie let her know I did not feel comfortable dropping the car off anywhere based on what had happened at the dealership and that I simply wanted the amount of money it was going to cost and that I would go through a trusted shop or simply do the work myself, she was outraged that I did not want to go through Southwest and even yelled at me on the phone telling me that I had inflated the estimate invoices. I had to talk to her manager John since she was extremely unprofessional. He was also extremely hesitant to not have me go through their body shop. I'm sure they get some massive kick-back from Southwest and that's why they wanted me to go through them. John told me the only way he would send me a check is if it was for less than half of what the quote was for since he "knew he could get it done cheaper" as his dealership. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. This is a dealership who's website even states "Our service center provides you with a no-hassle Ford service experience and our professional staff". I can't find one true piece of that statement with San Tan. Do yourself a favor and find a service center that knows how to treat a customer, and if they do ever mess anything up they actually take some accountability and ensure the issue is resolved promptly and correctly. read more

Horrible service center in their fleet department. Vague, not helpful, can't give you timelines, and then came away with my check engine light. Then tried to take it back to them and they said it had nothing to do with what they had done and due to them driving the truck around, I was now over the warranty mileage.
